Klang's debut album on the Blast First Petite label features nine tracks and is the follow-up to the UK trio's brilliant L.O.V.E./No Thing single (For Us, 2003). Klang formed in 2002 when Donna Matthews (formerly of Elastica) and Isabel Waidner met Japanese drummer Keisuke Hiratsuka in a used record shop in London. A truly original Brit-pop group into scratchy, loopy, downbeat tunes, leaning like neo-expressionist drunkards toward the likes of Can, The Fall, and Kraftwerk.

Pan Sonic are Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen, both Finnish nationals now based in Berlin. Katodivaihe is Pansonic's first release for Blast First Petite since "sidestepping" (at their own request) from the newly EMI-owned Blast First/Mute Records for whom they have recorded since 1995. Their last release for them was 2004's 4CD release -- the musically massive Kesto box set. These 2006 recordings that make up this album feature the continued extension and development of their trademarked warm electronic sound, as per album bookends "Virta 1& 2," dub technique pummeling rhythms ("Tugboat") and the heavy metal pound of "Machinist." But this new record also sees them expand their musical horizons further with the inclusion of young Icelandic cello player Hildur Guðnadóttir on several tracks, and the use of some more funk-based rhythms, while stretching the listener in the opposite direction via the abstracted soundscape centerpieces of "Kytkennat / Connection" and "Haiti." Pan Sonic have remained true to their original and pioneering use of their special handmade analog tone generators, more old radio set than synthesizers, with the occasional use of digital samplers for the more rhythmic sounds. They still record live to DAT tape in real time with no overdubbing. With typical clarity, they re-cycle their earlier quotation on the basis that, as Vainio says, "it already says everything... there is no theory for Pan Sonic. We have no plan. We just make the music." Cathodephase is a bright, sunshine-y pop album that will delight both the aficionado and the newly curious.

The full, original 1981 Return of the Giant Slits album + a bonus CD that features ALL the archived dub versions and an American radio interview conducted at the time that was subsequently used by CBS for an ultra-rare promo disc. Including new cover art and two of the classic photos by Anton Corbijn from the NME magazine cover session. The 1981 second and final Slits studio album features the same line-up as their first album, Cut: Ari Up, Tessa Pollit and Viv Albertine. This record has often been overshadowed by their more controversial 1979 debut. It represents their natural development as artistes by focusing more on their interests in dub and "world music" sound eclecticism (featuring Steve Beresford and ex-Pop Group drummer, Bruce Smith) that is well suited to their, by then, more accomplished playing style. Perhaps, in retrospect, the Jamaican half-sister to The Raincoats recordings. A "lost" gem, ripe for reappraisal, of this still vastly influential and important group, in both musical and sociological terms. Produced by Dennis Bovell and Dick O'Dell (Y Records). Previously only available as an expensive Japanese import and never before released in the USA.

Region 0 (free)/NTSC format DVD. The first-ever Pan Sonic DVD release, directed by Edward Quist, an American digital visual artist. A live performance, close-filmed. A redux digital film based around a Pan Sonic performance from a New York stop on their adventurous 1999 "Round The World" tour. The film is a hyper-real abstract reflection of the duo, in the final year of the last century. While the documentary core remains, the footage is twisted and shaped by Quist into a new form in conjunction with Pan Sonic's improvised set. Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen are immersed in the imagery of the cathode which seems to live and infect their physicality over the course of the three parallel films, until they merge with their own sound and Quist's mesmerizing visuals. Sonar Electronic Festival described the film as "a beautiful and unique film capturing the very essence of a Pan Sonic live performance... which really is quite an achievement." Limited edition of 3000, 6CD set. Audio verité recordings (mastered by the incomparable Denis Blackham) of Suicide playing live from September 1977 to August 1978. These recordings cover most of their early shows at CBGBs and Max's Kansas City, plus their first-ever tour across Europe and the UK, these being their dates outside the USA. As you will hear, a crucial year in Suicide's development as both musicians and performers and their mission to stretch the label of punk rock to the very limit. The package includes a 40-page booklet of Suicide & Red Star Records memorabilia (including very rare Red Star press releases) from the personal archives of Howard Thompson, the A&R man that signed Suicide to UK label Bronze Records. Only the infamous 23 Minutes Over Brussels has been legally released before. From soundcheck and post-gig snippets to crowd noise to a radio advertisement for Our Price Record Stores, these recordings are raw and real. The first track is "The Boss" himself Bruce Springsteen doing a cover of "Dream Baby Dream," live from his 2005 Devils & Dust Tour -- exclusively available here. Totally haunting and unexpected! The flipside features Suicide performing that song on the Midnight Special live TV show in 1978 -- recently recovered from a lost Suicide vault and previously unreleased -- as well as a ripping cover of "Mr. Ray" by now-defunct contemporary New York band, Beat The Devil. Lydia gets all wet and dirty with the thought of what young "Frankie Teardrop" might do to her, over a twisted frug of an electronic beat-nicked soundscape by one-time Lemon Kitten, David Knight. Also presenting one of the great lost Suicide archive items -- a 13-minute epic 1976 recording of Suicide dropping da' bomb on what was then known as "Frankie Teardrop, The Detective vs. The Space Alien."
