"Cache 009 holds two remixes of classic Pacou tracks, reshaped and re-modelled by two of the hottest producers from Detroit: Mike Huckaby (known from his Synth label and earlier release on Cache) and Rod Modell, the man behind Deepchord, that blueprint dub techno sound. This release follows a previous collaborative release of Deepchord on Pacou's earlier LL label, which turned out to be a classic as many of Deepchord's own (now very rare) vinyl releases, from around 8 years ago. Like good wine, they aged with grace and led to a great comeback for Modell recently. He finally fulfills the high demand for new output with stunning cuts on Modern Love, Echospace and other highly-rated labels. Huckaby now needs no further introduction as the man behind scenes in Detroit, steadily building his position as producer of Detroit's very own definition of house sound. Every now and then since the mid-'90s, he has crossed over to Europe, playing some fantastic sets for the few in the know. In 2007, he spent some months in Berlin and toured around Germany and greater Europe, firmly setting his name on the map. A-side 'Sound of Thought,' originally 'post-minimal' track consisting of a fat leading bass line, gets a complete re-vamp with some surprising groovy percussion by Deepchord. B-side 'All It Takes,' from a driving techno track to now a very clean signature Huckaby echo sound -- a striking quality that already made all of his works in-demand classics."

"The single starts with with a slow dubby number on A1, followed by a dark, driving electro track. The B-side opens with percussive tech-house and main synth sounds taken from Mike Huckaby's recent 'Waldorf Wave' sample project, complimented with a nice amount of acid bass line. B2 is a dark, futuristic soundscape and finally, B3 is a Detroit techno number. Cache Records celebrates its 2-year anniversary with this release. "UK producer and DJ Miles Whittaker joins Cache Records with a driving remake of Pacous 'Minus' track (originally made in1998). With his production partner G. Howell as Pendle Coven and lately solo project MLZ, he's recently made a significant impact, their label Modern Love' has now grown into one of the most respected quality platforms. Good to see his busy DJ and production schedule left a spot for this excellent contribution, with more promising material coming this way soon. The flipside holds Pacous' own stripped-down version of MLZ' single track 'New Analog Century.' Starting out with the original multi-track recording, the drums were completely changed around and different effects added. The result is a heavy bass-loaded monster."
