"Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki received his first major recognition in 1959 at the Warsaw Autumn festival with the premières of his works Strophen, Psalms of David and Emanations. Penderecki has won many prestigious awards and accolades including Grammy awards in 1987, 1998 and 2001.
