Following their debut album, Enemy & Lovers (mixed by Cristian Vogel) in 2003, and the release of their Naked DJ Mix in 2005, Time is the 2nd studio album from Scratch Massive -- 11 titles, along with the stellar cover of "Three Imaginary Boys," as approved by The Cure. Mastered by Moritz von Oswald (half of Rhythm & Sound), this powerful, dark and moving new album from the Parisian duet succeeds in combining the sharp and energetic electro feel of their DJ sets with a robotic melancholy and a typical new wave romanticism. Played either on a dancefloor or in a lounge, this record has a vigorous and modern feel, easily outclassing the attempts of electroclash fusion of the beginning of the 2000s. Maud Geffray and Sébastien Chenut, aka Scratch Massive, describe it best as a "dark electro" album, with tracks like "Silence" and "Shadows," revolving around the well-named "Soleil Noir." This is a modern electro album taking on its affiliation with pop music only to avoid the clichés of the genre, or the creeping nostalgia of the 2000s.
