2007 release. "Gosub's first album for over seven years,
Watchers From The Black Universe
. His first full-length album since the 1999 Isophlux classic,
A Collection Of Mind Frames
. Taking us from the soul-fueled landscapes of Detroit, through the cold, late-night streets of Brooklyn and the darkest dramas of the Berlin underworld, out to the hidden reaches of our black universe. With his string of timeless electro singles on respected labels Frustrated Funk, Point. One, Kondi and Device, Scott knew it was time to take the Gosub project to the next step in its natural progression. Using nothing but ancient analog technology and his trademark low-slung basslines and melodies, Gosub delves further into the unknown. This album begins with the dark drive of 'The Rain Comes Down', in memory of Thomas E Scott. Its strong vocals and powerful lead lines hit home those moments in time that trigger the veracity and sadness of irreversible loss. As you dive deeper in, you find the astro-funk contamination of 'Last Night At The Stardust,' the palette-busting, asymmetrical 'Short Phase,' sexual exposure in 'Love Like The Past' blasting electrotech funk at its best, and 'Laugh Track,' with its creepy funk lyrics and vintage C64 drums. All in all, Gosub's
Watchers From The Black Universe
spells it out like it is."

"Her Bad Habit is the new project from producer Jimmy Edgar, known for his work on Warp Records and Detroit Underground. Originally conceived as demos for a New York based musician, the tracks were expanded upon and completed in their electronic form after the collaboration fell apart. Apparently the collaborator's girlfriend was often in the studio with Jimmy and acted as muse. But this led to her becoming infatuated with the moment, and whilst this no doubt gave the tracks extra heat, the collaboration couldn't continue with this tension and so the two artists went their separate ways. This is the situation which gave the project its name: Her Bad Habit. His collaborator's loss is Jimmy's gain, for the completed EP contains five of Jimmy Edgar's hottest productions. The EP opens with 'Lock Me Up.' There's a Chicago influence here which adds an extra dimension, plus there are echoes of Prince's 'Around The World In A Day.' Second track 'My Bad Habit' is the essence of electrofunk, driven by its pure, frustrated bass. 'Jamaica Center' offers a lighter take, but the faster ride of 'Computer Time' takes us back to the breathless funk. 'Do,' the final track on the EP, updates the Minneapolis sound with a nervous synth line and freaked keyboard solo. This is an exciting point in Jimmy's career as he combines his house and funk inspirations and takes them to new heights. Her Bad Habit's launch EP is the first in a series of Citinite projects which will have Jimmy's involvement... The electric funk journey begins here."

NITE 010EP
"The only major song from Prince's classic film
Purple Rain
to have never previously been released. Finally, after 25 years, comes Dez Dickerson's lost Minneapolis classic, 'Modernaire,' mastered from a newly discovered tape recording. As if that wasn't enough, the record also features a freak-aholic cover version by Egyptian Lover. Keeping the spirit and energy of the original alive, there are remixes by Hot Persuasion, DMX Krew and Faceless Mind, driven by the searing beats of the 808 and LinnDrum. Backed by a disco-machine version by Complexxion, this is the sound of the Modernaire!"
