"In coordination with the Japanese mix CD of Codek tracks by Japanese DJ & producer duo, Blast Head, Concent releases this little 4-tracker of funkydubby grooves from the old Organic Grooves crew. OG was a crew that hosted monthly parties in NYC featuring a blend of DJs and live musicians, a la Turntables On The Hudson, and featured an allstar cast of musicians including Zeb, Nappy G, and Takuya Nakamura. Codek's core duo of Sasha Crnobrnja and Alex Gloor relocated to Europe a few years ago and have been very successful under the moniker Inflagranti, cranking out equally underground, but more uptempo tracks on the Codek Europe label, but there are enough people looking for their older stuff to regularly drive up auction prices to $50100. Particularly of note is the track featuring vocals and berimbau by Muhamadou Salieu Suso which brings a funky afro groove, and the Bingo Palace track, which was never released on vinyl."
