"The Bucci Brothers are back with an EP dedicated to their favorite empanada pie house in Santiago Chile. Andres and his brother Pier have been busy over the years, searching for the ultimate empanada and working with label's like WMF, Candensa, Multicolor and Lo-fi stereo. Rancho Shuffle's synth progresses toward adolescence after the pre-ramble of animation in the voice of a sixty-year-old Chilean empanada chef/chess master named Don Julio. We start from the aquatic muse in the each honey-soup-synth; the wet bass plods forward into the sensual sex vocal all the while styling on a groove that alludes to the night heat and the incongruity of time. A chippy introduction gravitates towards dollops of viscous Mushroom funk. The genesis groove and the squirts of cadence make an allusion towards synchronicity. The track spatters: You need sneeze screens against an immensity that comes like a seamless dream dropping into the well of a lucid awareness. A warm directive, works like warm hug or a fond memory. You can relax now, there is nothing but instinct to guide your limbs and nod your head. It's not level terrain, no, the glitch and the clutch simmer as a bell and a whistle. This would a transmutation if only the song would keep still. Ordered flux is the name of the game."

"The dynamic duo that is Sieg Über Die Sonne have been writing music and releasing together since the early nineties. Chilean born Martin Schopf aka Dandy Jack brings 'el fuego' to this collaboration whilst Frankfurt native Tobias Freund aka Pink Elln balances this project with a golden ear and icy precision. The end result is a playful elevating sound with humorous intricate rhythm programming, polished off with a beautiful mix down. Sovjet Supreme is dives away from the sound of some of the previous albums and delivers a smooth linear unspoken homage to one of electronic music's purveyors. Ten minutes of deep electro bass backed with a driving 808-rhythm section designed for a peak time set. This is by far one of the duo's most timeless tracks to date. The B-side is a minimal house number that keeps things flowing. 'Regulär' is a snorkel deep groover that could easily have you diving into any house or minimal set. Again a ten minute subaquatic bass roller backed up by a classic 808 drum arsenal with a slight hint of Latin flare in the percussion programming."

"The long awaited return of Deadbeat on Cynosure has finally come. This time Deadbeat appears alongside guest remixer, producer, programmer, techno legend Monolake. Random Brown is a rarity of an EP due to Monolake's sparse appearances as a remixer. Both artists also take a much different approach to these remixes than what would be considered their signature styles. Deadbeat dives away from his usual ~scape dub style and fuses his signature use of sub lines and lust atmosphere into a straight up 4/4 on the floor showdown. The Random Brown venture starts off with Deadbeat's original and delivers a dose of shuffled, slinky, digital brown that simply evokes dancefloor madness. Drippy liquid like filters pop and bounce through the mix as rolling bass lines keep the funk alive whilst a melody from some other planet creeps over Deadbeat's audio debauchery. Give it a flip and you'll hear what Monolake has to say about it. Bringing things back to the basement, Robert Henke slaps the funk right out of Deadbeat's original with an industrial like reverb and summons forth a layer of darkness unwitnessed to these ears. With a stomping configuration of beautiful menace, Monolake takes things back to the early days of Tresor in Berlin. The Random Brown EP collaboration is not the first time Deadbeat and Monolake have combined their skills on musical excursions. Both have played live together and via the web at several festivals including Berlin's Transmediale and Montreal's infamous Mutek festivals. "The Boys from Uruguay are back with another burner of an EP. Monoblock's debut EP was in everyone's crate that knew anything about minimal techno and was rocked in sets from DJ Bobo to Richie Hawtin. Since then the boys have been one of the most sought after live acts in the world and continue to help keep the genre alive by delivering some seriously funky techno. The EP starts off with the ultra funky Roller called 'Rizco.' Not wasting any time Monoblock get right to it and roll out a carpet of percussion backed with some signature bouncing analog bass. A perfect combination of sounds running up and down the scale. Continuing down the same path, things strip back a little here with 'Dobason,' a more playful cut with the focus on the overdriven lead bass. Our old friends the 808 and 909 are there to play in the mix too. Things kick off with a full-blown Chicago-style jack attack on the A-side with 'Sling Blade.' "Sometimes a track is so hot it just has to come back around again. About ten years ago Brett Johnson and Dave Barker (Stucco Homes) wrote some unbelievably catching house tunes, one of them being 'Temptation and Lies.' So it just seemed right to give this track yet another life. Deadbeat and Mike Shannon dive deep into a stripped down techno groover, removing the constant use of the vocals and creating a rolling techno dub version. Some seriously deep bass in the production that works the subs in all the right places. Ernesto Ferreyra and Guillaume Coutu Dumont aka Chic Miniature give you a playful melodic version on the flip. Full use of the original chord progressions, combined with the guys signature Marimba/Latin percussion leaving you with a lush, warm summer hit. Then Brett Dives into the track again giving you the 'Oohs and Ahhs Mix.' A ten minutes work out with BJ's patented groove focused on the vocal harmonies in the original. The result is a warped, spaced out long player that is sure to twist a few heads. Mental just about sums it up. Of course we had to include the original masterpiece for those who didn't find it the first time round. A favorite of everyone involved on the remix project I think you'll agree that the 'Temptation and Lies' Cynosure mixes do the original some justice."

"Zoraida" features the sweet and innocent vocal style of Amelia Saul, slow-building percussion leads you up to a plateau of shimmering, deep synths and Rhodes electric piano that leaves you hanging for minutes, then dropping you into a silky-smooth, blissful world.

No stranger to straight-up, tracky techno, the cuts on Adam Marshall's third Cynosure release are pure evidence of his familiarity with the genre. "Searching" is the slick, DJ-friendly jacker reminiscent of Detroit's early sound. A relentless -- but never tiring -- deep analog bass sequence, backed with Marshall's signature grooves, is the recipe here. "Jamming The Unit" is another workout designed for the long-mix, followed by the kick-less Basic Channel-influenced builder, entitled "Champion." A perfect weapon in any techno set.

Delivering some grooves inspired by the warmth of the summer, Brett Johnson and Mike Shannon come together to cook up some BBQ. Cynosure presents a killer collaborative project by label head Mike Shannon and Berlin producer David DeWalta. This offering leans on the darker edge of syncopated synth-funk. "No Rest For The Wicked" is a swinging, shifty groove, full of razor-sharp analog synth work. "Joe Louis" features a deep groove that powers the train of a lead synth-line that explodes into a killer, swinging hi-hat line. A great track to bridge the gap between peak-time and deep-time.

Swiss producers Wandler & Mastra are no strangers to the formula that most DJs seek when hunting for the bombs necessary to make a set magical. A-side "Kassandra" lifts things off the ground with a mystical groove and bass line that swells and subtly evolves into a peak time shuffler. "Scrabble" also morphs into a bouncing euphoria, this time by way of a filtered, minimal groove. "Scharlotte Dub" nods respect to the dub techno sound and pays homage to Berlin's Chain Reaction camp.
