'Diva' EP has its title from a really nice French thriller by Jean Jacques Beineix in early 1980's where a man surreptitiously tapes her favourite singer who refuses to have recordings of her performance made in the name of commercialism. On the a side, two tracks, 'Atletico' and 'Diva', by Jonas that moves himself throughout wide and deep techno views, filled with basses, irresistible rhythm lines, and brilliant sounds. "Project by Tuscania (aka Marco Palmieri), Italian producer and Ter (aka Terry-Ann Frencken), Dutch DJ. Und is now released on DSP Recordings. Crashing melody-directed tech bases, with vocals in different languages, give their dance oriented music a personal touch with Tuscania using crazy minimalism as a style of living and Ter staying in a strange fairytale world, their work attains maximum harmony. 'Maxfield'. Ter's endless stories about her experience in the fashion world gave Tuscania the inspiration to come up with an exciting and dangerous track, that just perfectly induces the feeling of this fashion adventure. Tension sounds with explanatory vocals made the track become an encyclopedia for the words 'Showroom' and 'Maxfield'. 'Toverfee'. 'Toverfee' is the Dutch equivalent of a fairy. The vocals on this track were written by Innisfree, ter's little sister back in Holland. Und gave their magic interpretation to this, creating a distorted techno track. It should have been a sweet track, but Und is adult and the sweetness of the magic elf has then ebbed away. At least they work with this songwriter that tries to explain how you fulfill dreams: by just believing in them spontaneously. 'Ambivalente'. Timeless track. Inspiration comes from a simple old analog alarmclock belonging to Tuscania's grandfather. Linked up via several microphones and sensors, the noises produced by this device were processed and transformed during the performance 'Time Lapse' by a portable computer dedicated to real time manipulation. Repeated segments of the monotonous movement are interposed with casually captured melodies and sounds. Time as base of life, time as a base of the track."

The recording starts with a transmission from deep space by a satellite that has smoked too much grass and strayed from its orbit around Detroit. The message in the broadcast is sent to all major science agencies around the world, but only after Brussels and Cologne join forces that it is decoded and the sound of asses shaking on a concrete dance-floor can be heard. The message is eventually leaked to all media outlets and becomes an anthem for all concrete floors from Tokyo to Istanbul and Constantinople. After some time, kids in black trench-coats get fed up hearing the message infiltrating even *their* favorite radio shows and construction equipment rentals reach an all-time high when all available jack-hammers are used to break up all the concrete that covers the globe. "Our next Defrag release is a gem. Robert Babicz collaborates with Defrag for the first time, after a heavy output on labels such as Audiomatique, Punkt, Treibstoff and K2 in the last few years. Based in Cologne, Robert's take on acid for the 21st century is laden with influences he has picked up in a near 20 year career that has seen him influence a good few artists and styles to boot. Opener 'Boarding' kicks off the weekend with a bright and effervescent journey of soaring synth and crunchy beats. D.C.-based Richard Chartier is a minimal sound artist/composer and graphic designer who explores the relationship between sound, silence and the act of listening. Re'Post'Postfabricated is a reformed/remastered version of Postfabricated, which was Chartier's third full length CD, and was recorded between 1998 and 1999 via analog connections to Minidisc and afterwards mastered at a studio. The Minidisc compression, combined with a studio engineer not accustomed to this type of recorded material compromised the details of the sounds. In the words of Chartier himself, "Noting this difference upon listening to the source files, I began to reconstruct the entire work digitally, utilizing the original components. Originally all the tracks were recorded in real time with no overdubs following a score for each piece arranged in advance. For this rerecording, having lost many of these notations, I diagrammed each arrangement and have replicated the pieces as closely as possible." Postfabricated was originally released in 1999 on Microwave/Staalplaat as a CD-R edition of 222. Re'Post'Postfabricated then, is a reconstruction of how Postfabricated was intended to sound. The artists on CD2 that were given sound source files to create new works (remixes/reworkings) out of the Postfabricated material include: Coh, Vend, Asmus Tietchens, Frank Bretschneider, Goem, Taylor Deupree, Alva Noto, Freiband, Sogar, Byetone, Matmos and Steve Roden.
