Artist: VA
Title: Our Sound 2
Label: DESTRUCTIVE RECORDINGS (UK)
Format: 2CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: DST 001CD
"Wicked release 2 X CD from the Destructive camp, covering the diverse styles within the dubstep scene, featuring some heavy weight producers like Skream, Distance, Caspa & Rusko, Elemental, and Search & Destroy. There are many angles to Our Sound. Whatever you want to call it -- dubstep, breaks, grime -- they all have their place here, but neither explains this music in its entirety. Reflecting inner city chaos and the paranoia instilled within it, CD 1 provides a snapshot of the U.K. underground scene's most forward thinking artists, whilst CD 2 features gems from 2005's rare Our Sound 1 album. Igniting dance floors and opening peoples minds simultaneously. This is the music with no name, this is Our Sound."

Artist: TOASTY BOY
Title: Splash/Skinny
Label: DESTRUCTIVE RECORDINGS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DST 003EP
"Toasty Boy: an artist who has single-handedly raised the bar of production, vibes and musicality, and has shook dancefloors across the globe. Toasty Boy's sublime sound has been supported from DJs and producers such as: Search and Destroy, Skream, Tayo, Giles Peterson, Marry Anne Hobbs, Slaughter Mob, DJ Distance, Ras Kwame, Hotflush Recordings and Quiet Storm, to mention but a few. 'Skinny' is a milestone in dubstep music, and it's strictly deep vibes on this one. This one's a personal and beautifully executed track which we believe is rife with crossover potential for a mainstream audience. Deep sub-driven grooves, lush atmospherics and acid-etched percussion delivered in Toasty's unique style. Meanwhile, on the flip: 'Splash' has gone the rounds on Dubplate for a while, and destroys dancefloors wherever it's dropped. This not being on vinyl is blasphemy. This roller hits you hard out of the blue, a fierce percussive bounce with an almost old school edge to it, all underpinned with a monstrous, dubbed out bottom end, which is the foundation of this dancefloor scorcher."

Artist: ELEMENTAL
Title: Soul Fire
Label: DESTRUCTIVE RECORDINGS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DST 004EP
"Destructive Recordings present their fourth instalment of razor edged dubstep, featuring a new addition to the Destructive stable: Elemental, an artist who has recently been propelled to the forefront of the dubstep/breakstep scene. His unique, break-driven, yet spacious take on the sound has quickly gained momentum on the underground circuit. Here are two of his seminal tracks that have been battering speakers for a while now. 'Soul Fire' is in our opinion, Elementals' signature track, depicting his own unique brand of dubstep. Stone cold drums and weighty, distorted bottom end are the main ingredients in this dancefloor classic. The core of this track is evidently very dub influenced, injected with an energy that almost contradicts itself, which is why this track is so infectious. An organic vibe that leaves you with no choice but to shake your booty. Meanwhile, on the flip: 'Tribute' is a hard, dirt ridden breakstep roller that has torn many a dancefloor to bits. Elementals' use of spacious, yet earth-shattering drums are executed with surgical precision, with an avalanche of piercing, distorted bass."

Artist: SEARCH & DESTROY
Title: Blue Mantra/Day Break
Label: DESTRUCTIVE RECORDINGS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DST 007EP
"Having been relatively quiet over the last 2 years, DST 007 sees the return of S&D with a mighty 12. Featuring 2 tracks that encompass Search & Destroys' hard yet musical ethos to a tee: musicality and emotion, yet dancefloor friendly. 'Blue Mantra': Soaked all the way through with a beautifully sullen orchestral riff and a lush string arrangement that drops into a snaking halfstep break, swirling arpeggios and a moving brick wall of sub that bounces along with fierce purpose. This one keeps the vibes musical and female-friendly, but crosses over into dancefloor territory. 'Daybreak': As the name suggests, this track is like a rude awakening from a dream. Kicking off from darkness and ethereal atmospherics into a bumpy push and pull bassline, like riding a dingy over tidal waves of bass. Skipping breaks mutate underneath stuttered arpeggiators and warped drum fills. These tracks have received support from the likes of N-Type, Caspa, Oneman, Chef, Luke Envoy, Reso, Skream and even your local Nike Town store."

Artist: FUNK ETHICS
Title: Blues Is Now
Label: DESTRUCTIVE RECORDINGS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DST 008EP
"3-track debut release from the UK's Funk Ethics, first noticed and permanently represented by London's legendary dubstep label Destructive Records. 'Blues Is Now' is the tune that launched FE into the limelight and was quickly picked up by Mary Anne Hobbs and showcased on her Radio 1 show, it was originally featured on the Destructive CD album (DSTCD001). Two brand new tracks, 'Dub Fluid' and 'Trans Europa Step,' are showcased on the flip, good support and a good buzz on these tracks as the funk-tech sounds of the Funk Ethics roll on into 2010."
