DIFB 1035CD
"Michel Amato aka The Hacker admits he often listened to The Ramones while writing his new album. Besides an intelligent use of minimalism, you will not find any other link with these New York punks. The Electroclash that had appeared with Miss Kittin is gone, the rhythm has changed, evolved with his influences twisted into a unique, sharp but smooth sound. More accessible?? Leftovers from EBM here, New Beat there but always dance-oriented even when mixed with his typical cold use of keyboard. On 'Flesh & Bone,' the first single of the album, the velvet voice of the American Perspects (aka Le Car) emerges on top of the dancefloor bass-line. 'Traces' is a meeting between the ethereal voice of Mount Sims and a cold Kraftwerk. Miss Kittin is there
'of course otherwise there would have been a domestic argument'
says The Hacker. The princess of vice puts a freaky voice on the psychedelic techno 'Masterplan.' On the other instrumental tracks The Hacker shows his evil side, reminiscent of raves and hardcore with 'The Brutalist' or 'Village Of The Damned.' But we find he is more than that with a Tim Burtonesque 'Electronic Snowflakes' or with the end track 'Sleeping Machines,' a little ambient and woolly opera. Everywhere there is rage, a dark rigid sound that contrasts with the welcoming dream-like themes.
Reves Mecaniques
sets a new vision for techno. When the club becomes a den of romanticism."

Sexor

DIFB 1040CD
"Tiga's new album
Sexor
is one of the most eagerly awaited debut albums for ages. This is a unique proposition. Early reactions to the record have been electric. Described in some quarters as the 'male Goldfrapp' in waiting,
Sexor
finds Tiga in spine-tingling form. Tiga sings on every track. Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters sings on a couple too. Taking inspiration from some of the world's filthiest underground night spots,
Sexor
lives up to its title.
Sexor
is a dirty beast of a record that sucks pleasure from the bass and a whole lot more...The album's foundation song is 'Pleasure From The Bass'. Suitably inspired, Tiga began to think about making his long-awaited album. Being a well-connected, internationally-renowned, ambitious sort, he was never going to play it straight. Tiga would record half of his album in Ghent with Stephen and David Dewaele of Belgian band Soulwax (aka occasional mash-up kings 2 Many DJs), and half in Stockholm with Swedish techno producer Jesper Dahlbäck. The result is a hugely satisfying listen. Free-roaming but coherent, thumpingly invigorating without sounding samey, full of beats and tunes, electronic music that rocks. Album opener '(Far From) Home' sets the tone with its wonderfully unique pop feel. The moody, twinkling city-after-dark feel of 'Ballad Of Sexor' is another case in point. 'Good As Gold' is one of the first songs Tiga did with the Soulwax brothers.
'I wanted to make an old Italian disco record, and it was really exciting to do that.'
He had also some fun with Talking Heads' 'Burning Down The House'. After years of excursions and diversions, Tiga has knuckled down, pulled in all his experiences, and crafted a brilliant, 14-song set."

"Vitalic is back with a fantastic
No Fun
EP, an another milestone for the 2manyDJs generation. No Guitars - No Strobes - No Leather - No Fun.
No Fun
starts off with a distinctive electro-style, but before 'dirtying' itself up into an acid squelcher with Brigitte's voice (the product of a speech synthesis program). Alongside
No Fun
comes on the 12" Newman (crunchy guitar and a synth working practically in unison) while on the other flip you will find the brand new track Juliet India and Vitalic's own discomix of Repair Machine. Two sides of a 12" reflecting two of Vitalic's skills."
