Title: Reala
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $16.00
Catalog #: DRK 001CD
This label's debut compilation from the year 2000, suddenly available. "Abstract electronica label from the U.K. Phantastic and extremely stylish. For the start you will get a CD that reflects the label's early sound research activities. Focus here is on Radovan Scasascia's bizarre sound art."

Artist: SECONDO
Title: It's Okay, I've Overstood
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 004EP
"The third and most diverse release of the Secondo project on Dreck-Records: on the A-side Secondo pays a visit to Tom Tom Club's 'Wordy Rappinghood'. Carefully sliced into minute fragments and rearranged to bring us the typical Secondo sound: a track reminiscent of your best disco moments, in an entirely new form, a reconstruction of a carefully disassembled song. After numerous hip hop tracks having borrowed the main theme from 'Wordy Rappinghood', this deals thoroughly with the entire sound palette of the original. Very fresh! On the B-side we give up the guessing game and enjoy the sweeter side of Secondo. A friendly ambiguity leaves us in the dark about the origins of the source material. Short fragments of a female voice remind us of the composing technique at work here: an existing popular song is used as source material to arrive at a completely new soundtrack. One for the ladies."

Artist: AM/PM
Title: The Ends II
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: LP
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: DRK 007LP
"After the first The Ends mini-album we are happy to announce the arrival of the second release by AM/ PM. The Ends II ties in with the concept employed on the first release of bringing together popular music (as a starting point) and conceptual composing. Built from the endings of existing music, these five compositions embrace warmth, melancholia as well as an angularity due to the diversity of the sampled material. Once removed from their original sources, these sounds capture both a sense of finality and endlessness. The instance we all know from the disappearing hums and hisses of a record in its last groove is perpetuated here and accentuates the perception of time unfolding."

Title: The Ends I + II
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $16.00
Catalog #: DRK 008CD
Brilliant minimalist electronic music sorta of in a Pop Ambient style (minus the "Pop", but not just "ambient")."The Ends I & II presents the two preceding vinyl releases (DRECK 005 & DRECK 007) on a full length CD album. With his second project on Dreck records Radovan Scasascia employs another intriguing concept of combining popular music (as a starting point) and conceptual composing. Built from the endings of existing music, these compositions embrace warmth, melancholia as well an angularity due to the diversity of the sampled material. Once removed from their original sources, these sounds capture both a sense of finality and endlessness. The instance we all know from the disappearing hums and hisses of a record in its last groove is perpetuated here and accentuates the perception of time unfolding. 'Lovely tracks caught on the cusp between stasis and motion.' -- The Wire. 'Music like an endless walk through Autumn leaves and glowing morning light.' -- De:Bug."

Title: Also
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 010EP
"After AM/PM's critically acclaimed contribution to su_d electronic's AM/PM & Lump EP, distributed and highly rated by Submerge's Mike Banks, Radovan Scasascia returns to his own Dreck records imprint with this sublime 3-track-EP. The first two AM/PM releases (The Ends I & II) were keeping closely to the concept of constructing music exclusively from ends of existing records. This release here is conceptually looser, but immerses itself deep into the world of AM/PM, where perception continually shifts between warmer and darker atmospheres. As many sounds still originate from the ends of other records, their diverse instrumentation, key and pitch result in AM/PM's signature micro-tonal disharmonies, reminding us that the world is not just black or white, with us or against us, but all-encompassing, rhyzomatic and constantly in and out of phase. This newly defined territory is thoroughly explored with the extended 'No Matter Whether,' a 12 minute track consisting of two notable parts. The first part establishes an environment of angular, drifting and floating planes -- an exploded drawing in slow motion which repeatedly results in chance moments of beauty, warmth and discordance. Holding it all together is a well defined bass and rhythm-track, which forms the basis for a much more earthed second part, concentrating on a deep groove. 'Tar in Between' is a calmer, more familiar and classic AM/PM piece, while 'Even As We Here' takes us back to AM/PM's bipolar world of vast space and sumptuous density."

Title: Maratea/Rather Than Less
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 013EP
"Radovan Scasascia continues here in the same realm as with the critically acclaimed Also EP, which was number 1 on Michael Mayer's chart for Earplug and was a favorite amongst DJ Koze, Trevor Jackson, the Idjut Boys and Touch Records' Jon Wozencroft, alike. The source material here still comes from a carefully selected palette of final moments and last breaths of found recordings. The arrangements let them move in and out of timing and create the chance compositions, micro-tonal disharmonies and warmth typical for AM/PM records. At times, they are carried by conceptually freer substructures, which offer themselves to the dancefloor and form a grounding contrast to the more ethereal and afloat elements. Each installment of the series will hold two tracks exploring the scope from home listening to club-land."

Artist: STRATEGY
Title: Pacific Agenda
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: DRK 014EP
"Strategy is on a roll and Dreck is very pleased to release a follow-up EP to his fantastic Future Rock album, which came out earlier this year on Kranky to much critical acclaim. Strategy continues to blend different genres and influences, creating very organic and unique sounding tracks that meander between dub, house and techno culminating in analog warmth and love. 'Pacific Agenda' on the A-side kicks off with Profan-like offbeat stabs only then to surprise with lovely Rhodes keys and hand-played percussion. The flip side's 'Julydub' is a dubby house track drenched in spring reverb and carried by an incredibly deep bassline. Strategy is Portland based Paul Dickow, who's been making a name for himself as a producer, DJ and curator of Community Library, a record label he runs with David Chandler (aka Solenoid) which releases music varying from house to noise. Paul has recorded for various labels including ORAC and Kranky, he has also remixed tracks for DFA and Tigerbeat6 to name just a few."

Artist: ANTONELLI
Title: Boogie EP
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: DRK 015EP
"Dreck Records, home to Secondo, AM/PM and just recently, Portland's Strategy, is very pleased to welcome the second external signing to its label: the Düsseldorf-based Stefan Schwander, known to electronic music as Antonelli, Antonelli Electr, Repeat Orchestra and Rhythm Maker, among others. He co-founded the Cologne-based minimal techno-pop label, Italic, in 1999, which has released the larger part of his work to date. Antonelli (at the time with the suffix Electr) made his mark on the scene with his seminal debut album Me, The Disco Machine (1999) and the follow up LP, Click (2000). This release sees Dreck Records continuing with their double A-side format bringing together two full-length boogie whoppers by Antonelli from either end of his musical spectrum. 'Be, Bop and Boogie' is an extended, bouncy and intrinsically uplifting disco-dub-track, 'Boogie,' as the track-title suggests, for everybody on the dancefloor in post-summer holiday mode, fresh, healthy and flirty. This is the track everyone will dance to until the nights get shorter again. 'Zabriskie' is a little darker but never sinister. In no hurry it builds up to its full glory and rewards the listener with a set of beautiful synth-washes in the latter half of the record, which will make you want to set the needle back and wait in anticipation for that sweet, sweet moment again and again."

Artist: AM/PM
Title: So It Goes
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DRK 016EP
"Things go slow sometimes. The third installment of AM/PM's sublime quadruple twelve inch series took its time and rewards the patience. AM/PM goes from strength to strength and brings us two more tracks after having created a buzz with the brilliant and critically acclaimed 'Also' EP in 2005 and 'Maratea' (1/4)and 'Bought and Sold' (2/4) in 2006. Originally Radovan Scasascia kept close to the self imposed stricture of only working from the last notes of existing music, but by now allows drum machines and bass lines to pull things away from classical home listening to the dance floor and elsewhere. 'So it Goes' kicks off in a sorted fashion, but eventually is underpinned by a bubbling bass line which nods back to the day when bass lines had to come from that famous Roland kit. A tight clap keeps things together and moving onwards, but over time 'So it Goes' starts to move in opposing directions and seems to go forwards and backwards at the same time. 'Pellicci' borrows its name from an East London, Italian-run cafe, a lively and busy spot, but possibly instilling half Italian, Zurich-born Radovan Scasascia with memories of a different time and a different place. This is the track more connected to earlier AM/PM work, concerned with the erosion of clock-time,entering the 'perceived' time of perhaps, Michelangelo Antonioni's Il Deserto Rosso."

Artist: HARMONIOUS THELONIOUS
Title: Just Drifting
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: DRK 017EP
"Dreck Records is very pleased to welcome back Düsseldorf-based Stefan Schwander (aka Antonelli) to the label with his new project Harmonious Thelonious. Just Drifting is an unusual and beautiful study of rhythmic patterns renouncing the use of the bass drum almost entirely. It evokes the work of classical American minimalists (or West African drumming respectively) and pays tribute to the concept of the phase shift. In true Antonelli style the tracks are built from warm and organic synth sounds, which for this release are sequenced in ever revolving loops, syncopating one another and creating a multitude of rhythm patterns. The resulting four tracks on this EP are a stunning body of work, which Dreck Records is very proud to be releasing. Stefan Schwander, also known to electronic music as Antonelli, Antonelli Electr, Repeat Orchestra and Rhythm Maker amongst others, has co-founded the Cologne-based minimal-techno-pop label Italic in 1999, which has released the larger part of his work to date. Stefan Schwander has also worked with numerous other labels including Real Soon, Background, A Touch of Class and recently Dreck Records. Antonelli (at the time with the suffix 'Electr') made his mark on the electronic scene with his seminal debut album Me, The Disco Machine (1999) and the follow -p LP Click (2000)."
