Electric Deluxe welcomes Tommy Four Seven to the family. Both Chris Liebing and Speedy J have been playing "Surma" as a highlight in almost all of their sets, building alternate versions on the fly. Electric Deluxe is proud to announce the release of Comedy Of Menace by France's legendary Terence Fixmer, as the first artist album on the label since its launch in late 2008. This is Terence's fourth album. He has already released two solo albums on DJ Hell's Gigolo, the seminal Muscle Machine single-handedly spearheading a new style -- techno body music. This was a unique combination of modern techno and the EBM of the founding fathers from Nitzer Ebb (whom Terence still has the Fixmer/McCarthy project with) and Front 242. His third album, Fiction Fiction was released on Terence Fixmer's own imprint Planete Rouge in 2009 with a more deep ambience, almost cinematic, with palpable emotion and hypnotic rhythms. With releases on Music Man, Datapunk, and Novamute, he has helped to develop EBM since the early '90s. With Comedy Of Menace, Terence Fixmer creates a true techno album, with an instantly recognizable, pure sound, a deep and dark atmosphere throughout. The album is in many ways hypnotizing and mental, yet keeps the energy and effectiveness for the dancefloor.

Created sometime in 2010 during a dark and stormy night in Glasgow, Gary Beck presents the almost-forgotten "Egoist." At some point, the track ended up in Speedy J's hands, who immediately decided to play it, ripping apart dancefloors every time it got dropped. With its subtle vocal samples and its sexy groove, this track creates a cool which goes beyond. "Speedy J's Dub Tool" is a heavy dub brother with a dark and rock-solid bass drum, snare rolls and white noise.

Workshops is a new experimental series by Phil Kieran and Jochem Paap (aka Speedy J), exploring the recording techniques used in the middle of the 20th century and dating right back to the mid-1950s. Volume 1 consists of three flowing tracks with an organic appeal. "Paint And Chemicals Dept. Dub" is the most dancefloor-focused of the bunch. "Wood And Organic Dept" drips with spaced-out sounds and "Wood And Organic Dept. Dub" is the heavy cousin of B1., which leads back to the dancefloor.

Back Pack Poets bumped into each other while touring in America. Due to bad weather, their flights got diverted to Alaska, where the three of them got stranded. All hotels were booked by other passengers in the same situation. Instead of hanging around the overcrowded airport, they decided to hit an Irish pub to get away from the chaos. After a few rounds of Jack Daniels to ease the sorrow of the situation the three comrades had found themselves in, inspiration struck.
