Speedy J
presents Electric Deluxe, a new sub-label of Minus. After fifteen years of techno, Speedy J has come full circle -- but what a wide circle.
Red Shift
is his first new techno/dancefloor release since 2006. Over the years, this Rotterdam-based artist has distinguished himself with releases on Plus 8, Music Man and Novamute.

TOMMY FOUR SEVEN
Title:
Surma
Label:
ELECTRIC DELUXE (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
EDLX 005EP
Electric Deluxe welcomes
Tommy Four Seven
to the family. Both
Chris Liebing
and
Speedy J
have been playing "Surma" as a highlight in almost all of their sets, building alternate versions on the fly. Both spontaneously made mixes, and Tommy added a kick-ass tool. "Surma" is both beautifully dark and instantly catchy. Rave alarm signals whip up a steady, pushing groove with a fat bottom-end. Techno, ambient and house are utilized for one sinister intention -- to drive the crowd mad.

Terence Fixmer
returns to Electric Deluxe with two strong tracks. Unique to all Electric Deluxe releases are the tool versions, this time crafted by
Speedy J
and Terence Fixmer himself. "Electric City" is classic industrial techno combining the driving force of relentless beats and bass. "Echoes" features a marching industrial beat, piercing synth lines, and sweat-inducing rhythmic patterns.
Function
's remix is dark, slow and massive. It retains a hypnotic/head-fuck/paranoia vibe throughout while it swims in an ocean of white noise.

EDLX 008EP
With his first EP on Electric Deluxe,
Audio Injection
captures a dark and raw spirit, moving effortlessly from percussive high-hat funk to heavy bass line assault. All tracks are dancefloor-focused, but contain a healthy dose of weirdness, giving them longevity while still being functional. "Operation A" is accompanied by none other than
Speedy J
himself. The remix has his signature flow; shifting, rich soundscapes layered over a forward bass line sketch. Music for minds in dark places.

Electric Deluxe is proud to announce the release of
Comedy Of Menace
by France's legendary
Terence Fixmer
, as the first artist album on the label since its launch in late 2008. This is Terence's fourth album. He has already released two solo albums on
DJ Hell
's Gigolo, the seminal
Muscle Machine
single-handedly spearheading a new style -- techno body music. This was a unique combination of modern techno and the EBM of the founding fathers from
Nitzer Ebb
(whom Terence still has the
Fixmer/McCarthy
project with) and
Front 242
. His third album,
Fiction Fiction
was released on Terence Fixmer's own imprint Planete Rouge in 2009 with a more deep ambience, almost cinematic, with palpable emotion and hypnotic rhythms. With releases on Music Man, Datapunk, and Novamute, he has helped to develop EBM since the early '90s. With
Comedy Of Menace
, Terence Fixmer creates a true techno album, with an instantly recognizable, pure sound, a deep and dark atmosphere throughout. The album is in many ways hypnotizing and mental, yet keeps the energy and effectiveness for the dancefloor.

KIERAN, PHIL
Title:
Empty Vessels
Label:
ELECTRIC DELUXE (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
EDLX 011EP
The
Empty Vessels
EP is
Phil Kieran
's debut on Electric Deluxe. The title track features a stripped-down, swinging groove. Tripped-out sounds flavored from industrial, house, and alien origin shift, move and melt this unique techno hybrid. The
Gary Beck
remix is for the more traditional dancefloor. A cool groove, dusty bass drum and huge rim shots create a framework for noise build-ups and Gary's own treatment of the already deranged original sounds, sending you straight to rave heaven.

Electric Deluxe proudly presents
Connect
by
Echologist
aka
Brendon Moeller
. "My only goal was that I wanted to make deep atmospheric techno that could rock a dancefloor." "Connect" pushes the envelope on all fronts; it's mental, fat, dirty and pounding, and despite being slightly obscure, it's a bomb on the floor! "Hummer" and "Freak" both show how diverse Brendon is, and together with the wide selection of tools, dubs and mixes, this is probably the most packed Electric Deluxe release.

Comedy Of Menace Pt. 2
is the second vinyl single from
Terence Fixmer
's
Comedy Of Menace
album, including reworks by
Niederflur
and
Brendon Moeller
. The vinyl includes the dubby and light original of "Phantoms" and the sensitive rework by Niederflur, who transforms it into a more driven techno track without losing the original's tender essence. The B-side presents the hypnotic "Breathless" and Brendon Moeller's remix of "Things Are Over," which will shift your dub-reality from head to toe.

EDLX 015EP
Created sometime in 2010 during a dark and stormy night in Glasgow,
Gary Beck
presents the almost-forgotten "Egoist." At some point, the track ended up in
Speedy J
's hands, who immediately decided to play it, ripping apart dancefloors every time it got dropped. With its subtle vocal samples and its sexy groove, this track creates a cool which goes beyond. "Speedy J's Dub Tool" is a heavy dub brother with a dark and rock-solid bass drum, snare rolls and white noise.

Price:

EDLX 016EP
Sstunning EP from Electric Deluxe mastermind
Speedy J
. "Shoegaze (Speedy J Out Of Focus Dub)" takes you right into the core of Speedy J's massive production wizardry. Amorphous drone sounds create a monumental space, while a pulsing sub-bass lures you into the groove. "Shoegaze (Edits Select Dub)" is up for serious dancefloor damage. A compressed yet heavy bass constantly rolls and pumps from below and the ethereal dub sounds create a hypnotic beast of a track.

ELECTRIC DELUXE (GERMANY)
Format:

Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
EDLX 017EP
Terence Fixmer
's EP
Le Terrible
will cause some serious damage. It kicks off with "Le Terrible," a powerful monster of a techno track which pumps up your adrenaline with its pounding bass drum and hypnotic build-ups. "Concept C" features more experimental elements such as drone sounds and his ragged and slightly distorted signature bass.
Marcel Dettmann
's remix of "Dance Like Paranoid" wins you over with its carefully-arranged melody and drum pattern which creates a melancholic and timeless rave anthem.

Workshops
is a new experimental series by
Phil Kieran
and
Jochem Paap
(aka
Speedy J
), exploring the recording techniques used in the middle of the 20th century and dating right back to the mid-1950s. Volume 1 consists of three flowing tracks with an organic appeal. "Paint And Chemicals Dept. Dub" is the most dancefloor-focused of the bunch. "Wood And Organic Dept" drips with spaced-out sounds and "Wood And Organic Dept. Dub" is the heavy cousin of B1., which leads back to the dancefloor.

Back Pack Poets
bumped into each other while touring in America. Due to bad weather, their flights got diverted to Alaska, where the three of them got stranded. All hotels were booked by other passengers in the same situation. Instead of hanging around the overcrowded airport, they decided to hit an Irish pub to get away from the chaos. After a few rounds of Jack Daniels to ease the sorrow of the situation the three comrades had found themselves in, inspiration struck.
