FLASH 002EP
"Now based in London, Florian Meindl, the 21 year-old Austrian born DJ and producer delivers the second release on his brand new label with Berlin based production partner, Oliver Koletzki. Here he combines his minimal techno style with strong modern electro beats and freaked out melodies. This is the sound of Flash Recordings! 'Reality Is On The Way' is a fresh mix of modern German electro and minimal, 'In The Flashlights' is a headthumping subwoofer destroying beast of a tune and 'Light Speed' is more hypnotic then David Copperfield."

FLASH 003EP
"Hummingbirds are best known for their ability to hover in mid-air creating a deep and very special humming sound from the rapid flapping of their wings. What's that got to do with the latest release by the new German techno dream team Oliver Koletzki and Florian Meindl? Everything. The sounds they create on their collective label Flash Recordings are equally hypnotic and wonderful. 'Kolibri' is a deeply grooving piece of dreamy minimal electro with melodic and mesmerizing stabs and many trippy effects. On the B-side the humorous title 'Grandmothers Flash' is sure to set the dance floor on fire with its fidgety loop, a typically raving synthie and a murderously deep sub bass. Koletzki and Meindl stay amused and allow themselves a joke towards the end of the track referencing the 2005 hit 'Mückenschwarm.' Also on the flip, Florian Meindl's 'Paris' has a thriving organic bassline, some great arpeggios, freaked out melodies and a very strong loop with many hi-hats."

FLASH 004EP
"This is Florian Meindl at his best. From his London exile, the Austrian simply doesn't stop producing catchy electro anthems reflecting his tough breed of minimal, electro and straight techno. On the latest 2-track-vinyl on Flash Recordings, his own imprint that he runs together with Oliver Koletzki, Florian presents his way of doing things: 'My Way' is carried by a strong, mysteriously melodic sample filled with tons of reverb, the track really explodes when his strong and fidgety loops meet a high-pitched whistle sound. Listen for yourself: this is a thumping minimal electro monster! On the flip 'Live Your Dream' is a lot dreamier, hence the name, a softly rolling sample says hello to an effect-laden sub-bass that is sure to make the dancefloor vibrate."

FLASH 005EP
"This is the first EP on Flash Recordings that doesn't feature label owners, Florian Meindl and Oliver Koletzki. But they have made sure to look for a quality replacement. No one else than Cologne-based artist Daso -- renowned for his previous releases on labels like MBF, Session Deluxe, Ghostly and Connaisseur -- teams up with his buddy Pawas to create their first release 'Night Express' on Flash. Pawas has just had his first record out on Adam Kroll and Markus Müller's imprint Squonk Records and has been a DJ for 9 years, moving from India to Cologne one year ago. On the A-side, Daso & Pawas present 'TGV': a beautifully deep melody that swings along a powerful loop. 'ICE' -- the name of Germany's high-speed train is clearly more electro-driven. A slightly broken beat with a thumping, organic bassline pumps above an ever-changing soundscape that culminates in some euphoric, high-pitched synths. Never too much, this is a perfect example of elegant understatement. Also on the flip side is the track 'Bummelzug,' which translates as 'very slow train' in German. This is a dub-techno masterpiece. Deep dubs and arpeggios flow over the simple beats with a great clappy snare drum. Dreamy, hypnotic, melodic!"

FLASH 006EP
"Pawas is now back with his very own three-track EP on the label of Koletzki & Meindl. All tracks were created in Pune in India, Pawas' hometown, and the EP is about three different characters: Alicia, Charlie and Edward. Each one of them has a certain distinctive vibe about them: 'Alicia' is deep and eloquent; 'Edward' is more hectic and restless while 'Charlie' seems the funky and witty sort. In terms of music, 'Edward' is carried on a powerful, deep synthie melody, a big breathing bass line and some great percussive clicks and clacks that turn into a slightly ravey minimal burner later on in the tune. Very hot! 'Charlie' is a little lighter and is pushed forward by a great funky melody that creates the perfect after hour moment. Imagine yourself on the beach when the sun is coming up. 'Alicia' on the A-side is a deeper, more housey affair and has a melodic, percussive and Detroity appeal. Pawas has managed to create a very fresh and unique signature sound and with releases on Squonk, Connaisseur and Flash Records, 2007 seems to be the year for him."

FLASH 009EP
"After the ironic hit single '3 Tage Wach' on Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent imprint, German producer Lützenkrichen is back with some unpretentious mainroom techno on Koletzki's other label Flash Recordings, that he runs together with Florian Meindl. For Flash, Lützenkirchen comes back to his 'normal' sound and delivers three very classy dancefloor burners. First up, there is 'Enter The Moonlight,' an enchanting piece of thumping peak-time business. A big bass, pumping beats and some great oriental sounds combine with far-out effects create a unique atmosphere. Modern styles meet oldskool feelings! 'On The Shore' is even more oldskool than that. The fat and wobbly bass line pushes the track forward and creates the perfect antagonism to the warm effects and clicky minimal beats. The highlight, however, is the wonderfully-written melodic piano piece that turns this track from wicked into wow! Beautiful and tough, oldskool and fresh, slick and funky -- all at the same time. This one is going to be huge. Listen for yourself! At last there is 'Pokemon Companion,' a more direct and solid piece of minimal tech. A drum'n'bass like powerfully grumbling bass, and yet another memorable synth pattern that seems to grow out of the buzzing loop like a spring flower out of wet grass -- natural and wonderful. This EP shows what Lützenkirchen does best -- to produce his unique sound that is destined for the big room."

FLASH 010EP
"The two hotshots and old friends Daso & Pawas that have just produced the spectacular
Det
EP for Spectral Records are the first ones to be given a full remix EP on Koletzki's and Meindl's collective label Flash Recordings. Remember Daso and Pawas'
Night Express
EP and the tune on B2 'Bummelzug'?H.O.S.H. turns it into a shining minimal piece of fine electro house that keeps on building and building and building until he finally shows mercy and strips down the track slowly but elegantly and then starts adding his own elements that include a wonderful warm bass and some great female vocals. In an extremely uncanny way this rework keeps reminding us of our first club moments, but you better listen for yourself - this is huge! The boys from Dirt Crew take a more direct approach that is nonetheless thrilling. A strong four-to-the-floor loop and some nicely-placed pads anticipate what there is to come: a dark and hypnotic techno track with dirty bass blops, the wonderful xylophone melody from the original, a great new synthy melody and the original pads that are deeply rooted in the background. Perfect for the floor! At the end of the day, it's night: that's why Daso & Pawas take their turn on the controller, too, and present an after hours mix of their own track. More pads, more sounds, more build-ups and wind-downs and a relaxing, driving beat. It might sound like a simple recipe, but believe this: it will work wonders at the after hour."

Don't Go Home EP

Catalog #:
FLASH 011EP
"With this EP, Kellerkind marks his debut on Flash Records with a full-on three-track vinyl EP that features one of those truly artfully-crafted covers Flash is known for besides its dancefloor-optimated musical output. It is also the dancefloor that this EP is focused on: On the one side there is 'Don't Go Home,' a punchy piece of minimal rhythm that one can wonderfully imagine in a foggy club environment filled with happy faces illuminated by sudden flashes of white light. A great loop that consists of a physical snare and some really well-produced effects anticipate the anti-rhythmic stabs that add a great oldskool feel to this 100% postmodern piece of functional minimal techno. The stabs form a melody that gives warmness and soul to this glowing array of glass and iron. On the flip, there is even more soul, and more house, too. What is hinted at on the main track becomes a nice reality on the other two tracks. 'Cache Cache' is a slowly-moving piece of minimal house with many warm elements: an atmospheric glow, some melodic synthies and these little, but wonderful bleeps. Add some closed hi-hats and a clap snare: this is as warm as your favorite blanket and a wonderful one for both the warm-up and the afterhour."

FLASH 012EP
"After some very strong releases by Daso, Lützenkirchen and Kellerkind, Flash Recordings -- the label run collectively by Oliver Koletzki and Florian Meindl -- comes back with a subtle, but very effective bang. Introducing Ramon Tapia, who has already released on Yellow Tail, Definitive Recordings, Craft and Great Stuff to name just a few, joins the Flash crew and really makes a great first impression. Two dope cuts and one killer remix are in this package, but let's put things in order first. Ramon Tapia, son of a Chilean musician and a Dutch woman, comes from Antwerp and is equally a master of perfect intrinsic productions as well as big emotional musical dramas. The main track of this EP is 'Away,' which seems to tell the tale of Tapia's extensive musical history: some reverby percussions, a shimmering synthie, some simply beautiful big-room sweeping dubs and a great vocal. Add some hi-hats and some great creative twists that make this track oscillate between techno and house as well as a good touch of heartbreaking pop music, too. In one word: it's a hit. On the flip there is a remix by the Berlin-based production duo Chopstick & Johnjon, both real lovers of house music, too. They turn the original into a flurry tech-house ride that smoothly pushes with a constant drive towards oblivion."

FLASH 013EP
"Flash Recordings was a result of collaborations between Oliver Koletzki and Florian Meindl back in 2006, now after Oliver's Label Stil Vor Talent took off and flooded him with work, Florian manages Flash on his own. The first musical statement for this new path Florian is going comes in the shape of a single with two perfectly crafted dance-floor weapons: 'Time to Move' is a disco tech-house tool built with a solid and mechanic Meindl beat&bass construction, which ends up in a superlong break before it gets hit back by the beat. On the flip 'Here Today Gone Tomorrow' is a serious house tune including hypnotic vocal samples and a big hook-line guaranteed to create mayhem everywhere."

FLASH 015EP
"New Flash 12" Florian Meindl: A-Side called 'Flashmob' is drilling a Daft Punk-like bassline in combination with a hypnotic vocal hook into the dancefloor and your brains. On the flip 'Leaving Home' is digging deeper and could be seen as a logical progression from Florian first release ever called 'Liquid Source' from 2005. B2 always hides the fancy tracks, so does FLASH015 -- 'Use Me' is a sub bass monster with a huge break."
