Artist: TAPIMAN
Title: Tapiman
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $18.00
Catalog #: GUESS 001CD
"Newly remastered edition of the great Spanish monster rarity! Legendary hard-rock-psychedelic album from 1971 (for many, also a progressive album!?). Extremely underground hard-rocking power trio. Line up features Max Sunyer on guitar (later in Iceberg), and Tapi on drums (just after leaving Maquina!). The CD contains the complete album plus four bonus tracks from their singles, two of these tracks have never been available on CD yet. We've used the great mastering of the vinyl reissue (unlike the previous mushy mastering in the '90s CD issue), and comes with an 8-page booklet with lots of info, pictures and a Max Sunyer interview."

Artist: TRUCK
Title: Surprise! Surprise!
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 002CD
"Limited reissue of the sole album by this mysterious early '70s band from Malaysia. It was featured in the last Hans Pokora Collector Dreams book, causing a big stir in the psych collecting circles, as original copies are nowhere to be found. This is a real pop-psych gem with ultra melodic & catchy English Beatlesque vocals, totally UK psych late sixties atmosphere featuring awesome songwriting, great studio arrangements, moody orchestrations, fuzz and wah-wah guitar and great use of electric piano, keyboards & weird analog synth-Moog which gives the album a wonderful unique vibe. A must for all people into the more melodic psych-pop sounds, think We All Together, Aerovons, Kaleidoscope UK, Fairfield Parlour, Gary Walker & The Rain, Badfinger...no hype here, only top-level stuff. Fully remastered sound."

Artist: LA MOSCA (THE FLY)
Title: Npk2
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 003CD
"1970. La Mosca ('The Fly' in English) released their sole album that year, sung in perfect English. The content of this wonderful album (which was also released in Brazil at the time) is psychedelic rock, sometimes groovy, sometimes soft, always very well executed and with great Hammond organ work along with fantastic guitar and vocals. All tracks are written by the band (though signed by Alfonso Sainz who was not in the group but was the producer) and include the terrific 'Once Upon a Time,' a ferocious six-minute psychedelic dancer, as well as the Hammond instrumental 'Dreamy Sleeper' and the cool soft psych track 'Warning Signals' among others. First-time-ever reissue of this rare and obscure psychedelic gem, with fully remastered sound."

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Teithgan
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 004CD
"Awesome second longplayer by Welsh psychedelic folk-rockers Pererin. Traditional Welsh folk meets rock with psychedelic guitar leads, flute, male/female vocals... This was originally released in 1981 on the Gwerin label and for many it is their best work, and it's definitely its rarest one. Exact repro of the original, including the insert. Definitely one of the best albums of the genre, another superb rarity brought to you with a legit reissue by Guerssen."

Artist: AGAMENON
Title: Todos Rien de Mi
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 005CD
"Hippie group from Madrid, this is no doubt the most acid psychedelic rock album recorded in Spain in the '70s. It is their sole album, originally released in 1975 on the Explosion label and a very rare and collectable item. No one knew anything about the group members until now, it had been even rumored to be some Argentinian guys living in Spain...but no, the group was formed by two Spanish females and four males and the brainhead was Carlos Garcia, who sadly passed away not long ago and to whom this reissue is dedicated. Ten tracks, eight of them in English and two in Spanish, all originals and fantastic; there's lots of heavy acid fuzz guitar here, probably the wildest fuzz recorded in Spain ('Todos Rien de Mi,' 'Send Me' or 'I Need Money'), and also some great sunshine psych-pop ('Cuco Go Fly,' 'Al Salir el Sol'), and it's all very well packed with some of the best multi-vocal harmonies you can find in a Spanish record ever. A truly fantastic album that we strongly recommend. This first ever reissue comes with an insert with some never-seen-before pictures and info about the band, plus a repro of a very rare band poster."

Artist: SAWYER, PHIL
Title: Childhood's End
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 006CD
"A magical discovery from the down-under '70s psychedelic scene. Phil Sawyer's 1971 album Childhood's End, originally released in Australia on the Sweet Peach label, remains pretty unknown yet to most collectors around. No justice. This is a wonderful album that will please anyone into psychedelia, rock and folk. Totally electric, great production, great songwriting, and the warm uneducated voice by Phil himself that gives a slight looser feel to it at times. The album contains some fantastic mid-tempo psychedelic folk-rock ballads, and the song that gives name to the album is an incredible slice of pure psychedelia with lots of tasty psychedelic sound effects. The original is a very rare and collectable item (Hans Pokora gives it 5 discs, in his books). This first-ever reissue is licensed from the original label and the sound is taken from the mastertapes."

Artist: SUBWAY
Title: Subway
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 007CD
"Subway was a duo consisting of an American and an UK-guy who released their only album in France as 200 vinyls in 1972. There they lived and played both for some time as street musicians, who played their compositions even in the Parisian subway, hence the band name. Unfortunately, the album fell through, so the unsold vinyls were melted, as was usual in France at this time. The band presented a phantastic psych-folk music with prog-rock elements. An absolutely top album, which hopefully now will reach a bigger audience, as the original LP is very rare. Fully remastered sound for this great studio production. This first-ever CD reissue was made under license of the musicians." Previously reissued on LP by Amber Soundroom.

Artist: HUBER, WALTI
Title: A Sense of Touch
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 008CD
"Walter Huber is a Swiss musician now living in Germany, who auto-produced this tremendous album in 1984. It was his second, and I must say it's a masterpiece. Entirely sung in English with words by poet William Blake, all music by Walti himself. Serene, intelligent, introspective, moody songwriting and production, with some fantastic electric guitar leads and male/female vocals in some tracks, all in a rainy day atmosphere that captivates you from the first listen. A real must have album for all progressive-folk lovers. Three bonus tracks have been added from his first work with the group Jetsam in 1988, so wonderful. Mastertape sound reissue with booklet, photos and info."

Artist: DAVIES & ROGER ILOTT, PENNY
Title: Restless
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: GUESS 009CD
"Penny and Roger have been active since 1983 when they started their recording career with this excellent album. It's folk-rock at its best, with great acoustic and electric 6 & 12 strings guitar from Roger and the female vocals of Penny (Roger is there as well sometimes) adding some occasional percussion, tambourine, mandolin.... no drums, no bass, only naked & direct wonderful melodies. 16 tracks in total, 5 of them are unreleased bonus tracks from the same sessions. New picture cover (requested by Penny & Roger!), booklet with notes written by the duo and, as usual, comes in slipcase."

Artist: DANDELION
Title: Dandelion
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 010CD
"Mega-rarity from the '70s folk-psych French underground scene, featured on Hans Pokora's book with a four stars rating and reissued for the first time. Dandelion's first album was first released in 1979 as a tiny private pressing of only 300 copies. It has a charming, amateurish homemade vibe with some outstanding tracks like 'Winter Tale' (featuring sound effects, reverberating guitars and lost vocals which bring to mind other lost bands like Tony, Caro & John or Agincourt), the acoustic 'La Farfalla' with nice femme vocals and the atmospheric, organ-dominated 'Sometimes,' which opens the album in an impressive way. This reissue is done with help from guitarist/composer Jean Christophe Graf and vinyl has insert with liner notes and rare pictures, remastered sound and original picture sleeve design. CD has booklet with all these infos as well, and slimcase outer carton cover."

Artist: LUCENA, AGUSTIN PEREYRA
Title: Augustin Pereya Lucena
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: GUESS 010LP
"Agustín Pereyra Lucena is an Argentinian bossa-nova guitarist, who impressed Vinicius de Moraes himself back in 1970. We are very proud to present now the first-ever vinyl reissue of his debut album, originally released on Tonodisc in 1970. Splendid, beautiful, sensitive bossa nova with the vital help of Helena Uriburu with her marvelous voice. Unforgettable adaptations of Brazilian classics like 'Consolaçao,' 'Berimbau' or 'Samba do Aviao', together with Agustín self-penned 'Niña no Divagues' and many others. This one will become one of your favourite albums very soon. Limited edition of 1000 copies, with insert." Reportedly a big influence on Scott Herren and his Savath and Savalas project, in particular the Apropa't album...

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Tirion Dir
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 011CD
"Finally the third album of Welsh folk-psych-prog legends Pererin is made available again. Quite a huge number of you already purchased our previous Pererin reissue of their second, Teithgan so you all know what to expect from this platter, but for those who didn't, let me say it's another brilliant set of traditional songs played in their very own contemporary electrified folk style. 6 & 12 string guitars, bass, mandolin, synths, mellow percussions, flute -- this might well be the folkier of all their albums, but there's still a strong progressive feel on it and some killer electric guitar leads. Another must-have for anyone into folk-prog, this is the last of the band's vinyl offerings, it was released in 1983 and was followed only by their last work that was only released on cassette. For the first time on CD format, with amazing remastered sound and with our usual outer carton slimcase. Licensed from Arfon Wyn."

Artist: GENESIS (COLOMBIA)
Title: Genesis
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 012CD
"No UK, no USA, no Uruguay, but Colombia. This Genesis comes from Colombia, and we can say it's a shame they used such a common name, as their music is absolutely unique! We're very, very proud to introduce you to this amazing band that for some reason we can't understand has never had the recognition deserved. Founded by Humberto Monroy (ex-Speakers) in the very early '70s, they released a bunch of LPs, of which this is the second one. This same titled album, their second, was recorded in March 1974 and released by Famoso (a Codiscos sub-label). It's a record that is still unmatched in its field. Flutes, acoustic, electric & 12-string guitars, percussions, bass, occasional harmonica and brilliant vocals offer an unusual and charming sound in the folk, rock & psychedelic veins, but always with a wonderful Andean folk feel. Most of the tracks are written by Humberto but the more famous number included on the album, which received a lot of radio airplay in Colombia at the time, was a chilling cover of 'Como Decirte Cuanto Te Amo' by Cat Stevens. Also, the psychedelic sounding 'Don Simon' was probably their major success. Spanish language lyrics praise the beauty of the environment and contain social messages in favor of farmers, natives & lower classes people. This is the first ever reissue of such a wonderful album, and comes with a nice booklet w/linernotes and pictures, and great remastered sound."

Artist: GENESIS (COLOMBIA)
Title: Yakta Mama
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 013CD
"1975, only one year after their second release and probably most successful, was the time to get the third in stores. They gave it the title of Yakta Mama. This followed the same direction as their second and you get a new amazing set of extremely well done mixes of folk, rock, psychedelia and Andinean folklore flavors. Killer stuff and no more! I can only tell you this is an obligatory purchase for anyone into folk-rock, psychedelic & ethnic rock!!! Nice release w/full color booklet with infos and pictures, remastered sound and the usual slimcase like all our releases."

Artist: YVES, SERGE & VICTOR
Title: Cagibi...
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 014CD
"Mega-rare private pressing from France, 1975, with only 300 copies made. Pretty unknown album, and a killer! Nothing you would expect from a French record, really. This is 100% USA early '70s sounding stuff, West Coast folk-rock with a psychedelic edge, CSNY feel, acoustic & electric guitars, some fierce fuzz assaults, English vocals. An incredible discovery! The original pressing came with a plain white cover, and a few copies were later pasted-on with a few very low quality photos. For this reissue we've used this artwork (restored) and also included a booklet with info and photos. Fantastic remastered sound."

Artist: QUICK, BILL
Title: Maravillosa Genta
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 015CD
"Mysterious Bill Quick... this guy was the son of a North American dad and Venezuelan mum, and landed in Madrid in the early '70s, spending most of his time playing music and manufacturing leather belts and other stuff that he later sold at the popular Rastro flea market in Madrid, meeting point for all hippies of the time. He somehow got in touch with famous producer Alain Milhaud, who was really impressed by his work and quickly offered him a deal to record a long-play to be released in Milhaud's own Explosion label. Then Bill recruited some top studio musicians and foreign friends who were also living in Madrid at the time; the list of people who play on the recordings is impressive: Salvador Dominguez & Chema Pellicó (ex-Cerebrum), Rafa Gálvez (later on Vainica Doble's backing band), Frank Rojas (Sangre), Jess Lam (Jess & James), and up to eleven musicians joined Bill in the recording studio. As a result, Maravillosa Gente ('Beautiful People') was recorded. Ranging from beautiful, introspective, acoustic solo tracks like 'Beautiful People,' 'Only the Weather' or the acid-folk of 'Winter's Gonna Come' to full backing-band hard-edged ones like 'Take Me Away,' 'Somebody' and the folk-rock sounding of 'With You, Lord' or 'I Sing This Song,' the album is a real treat from start to finish. It has an awesome sound and amazing production (it was recorded at one of the most advanced Spanish recording studios at the time), along with top musicianship and Bill's amazing songwriting. A real big ticket that was absolutely ignored in Spain at the time, and even today remains unknown to most folk-rock collectors and fans. Curious enough, the album was released in Brazil as well (with poor sales again), with different cover artwork. Now this is reissued for the first time, including a booklet with pictures and detailed liner notes telling the wonderful and strange story of this mysterious musician with carefully remastered sound."

Artist: GRUPO AMIGOS
Title: Paloma Mensajera
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: GUESS 016CD
"Originally released as a demo pressing in 1973, Paloma Mensajera by Peruvian band Grupo Amigos is without doubt one of the rarest albums from the South American psych scene. Only a handful of copies were pressed for the band members and needless to say, an original copy is impossible to find now. The band was formed by some long-time friends of Saúl and Manuel Cornejo, both from legendary Peruvian bands Laghonia and We All Together. Manuel Cornejo played drums on the album recordings and Saúl was the session engineer. Influenced by groups like The Beatles, The Byrds, The Stones, Badfinger, Shakers and of course Laghonia and We All Together, the music ranges from terrific guitar psych-rock like 'Dirty Girl' (which sounds like an outtake from Laghonia's first album) to British sounding pop-psych ('Mr. Taylor's Train,' 'Psychiatrist') harmony pop á la Byrds on 'Looking for Home,' a few rockin' tunes and some beautiful mid-tempos which show their We All Together influence. They alternate English & Spanish in their lyrics. On this Guerssen reissue, you'll find the complete recordings of Grupo Amigos, including their only album and a killer non-LP 45 recorded the same year. Features a booklet with liner notes and rare pictures, and our usual carton slimcase. Taken from the original master tapes."

Artist: COOLEY-MUNSON
Title: In Debt
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $22.00
Catalog #: GUESS 017CD
"Bill Cooley and Alan Munson were two friends in Santa Barbara, California, living their early 20s writing folk-rock songs for their pleasure. That was 1972, and they decided to put these songs into the studio, self-produce the album and press a tiny quantity of 500 pieces hoping it could help getting a contract with a major company. This never happened, as you would have guessed, and sure this fact helped making their sole album, In Debt, a major collectable item in the folk-rock and psychedelic rock listeners and collectors. Today, original copies of this record fetch quite interesting sums when changing hands in record fairs or internet auctions. Being a private pressing, you can easily imagine it's not a big production, but no care. This album has the right feel and you won't need anything else to make it one of your faves. All tracks are original compositions, and the style is very personal. It's folk-rock, but many tracks are quite psychedelic too, in their own way. But don't look close for influences, they will not come to mind that easily. Bill and Alan had their own psychedelic folk-rock style, and the raw, sometimes amateurish feel that these recordings have give the album the final distinctive touch. Never reissued before in any format, now here we come with a splendid reissue, with the collaboration of the guys. Remastered sound taken from the master tapes, CD version comes with booklet and outer slimcase. Alan Munson kept going the folk-rock way and released two solo albums during the '70s too, which we are also re-releasing along with In Debt."

Artist: MUNSON, ALAN
Title: First Light
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $22.00
Catalog #: GUESS 018CD
"And here's the last of the '70s works by our friend Munson! This one got released in 1979, again in small quantities, on the Parallax label in California. The First Light album doesn't easily fit into a music category box. The songs range from psych rock, to some fairly laidback folk-rock, and even a song with a country rock feel. Instruments played on the record include electric and acoustic guitars, electric bass and drums. Lead solos are all played on electric guitar; a 'clean' sound on the acoustic based songs and guitar effects were used on the psych rock songs. Strong lead vocals and background harmony vocals, all in all making another excellent album as result. Also one unreleased bonus track is added, all remastered from the original tapes. First time ever reissue as well, the CD comes with a booklet, and outer carton slimcase."

Artist: MUNSON, ALAN
Title: Good Morning World
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $22.00
Catalog #: GUESS 019CD
"Alan Munson, the songwriter of Cooley-Munson duo, continued the folk-rock way. It took him some time, but in 1975 he was ready for what is (for him, and for me too), his best '70s work. Incredibly, Good Morning World was only released in cassette, and in a limited run, so I bet no one of you has this yet! Under these circumstances, I'm so glad to put this out at last the way it should be (and also on CD, fine), and I'm sure you our beloved customers will appreciate this too! Good Morning World includes nine original, acoustic based songs with a mellow psych and folk rock sound across this album. Meaningful and understandable lyrics, delivered by 'close-up' lead vocals, and background harmony vocals. Instruments played on the album include 6 string acoustic guitar, 12 string acoustic guitar, electric bass and percussion. Song arrangements include multiple guitar harmony lead solos and fills. CD version with nice booklet with the same info and notes, as well as the outer carton slimcase."

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Yng Ngolau Dydd
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $22.00
Catalog #: GUESS 020CD
"Welsh folk prog group Pererin are still not known to have released a 4th album in their career, and that's because it was only released on cassette, and most of the copies remained shelved without distribution. But it's a wonderful album and here we are to rescue that music before it's too late! Released in the mid-'80s, Yng Ngolau Dydd is the most traditional work by Pererin. On this one you won't find electric guitar or keyboards. This is much more traditional Welsh folk, with strong use of mandolin, as well as electric guitar, percussions, violin and some flute as well. A strong album, featuring some tracks that might be among the best of the group's whole repertory, like the instrumental closing track, which still has the relaxing prog feel of some earlier works. Now released in a 500 limited CD-only pressing, with master tape sound and new artwork."

Artist: DAMON
Title: Song of a Gypsy
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP + 7"
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: GUESS 020LP
Repressed on vinyl. "Damon. This is the artistic name of David Del Conte, a genius American gypsy musician who is responsible for probably the rarest and most sought-after psychedelic music album of all time. We're talking about his debut album, Song of a Gypsy, which was originally released in 1969. This album has a totally unique sound, with the 'crooner-like' voice of Damon, the omnipresent melodic fuzz guitar of Charlie Carey and truly atmospheric melodies. Guerseen is very proud to be able to re-release Song of a Gypsy on vinyl format. This will come with the rarer gatefold cover (there were two original pressings, one in single cover and one in gatefold, with different artwork). This fabulous vinyl production comes with an extra 33rpm EP including the four tracks that were released on their two bloody rare singles, including an insert with photos and liner-notes, making this a very special release if all previous things weren't enough."

Artist: ITOIZ
Title: Itoiz
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: GUESS 021LP
"Itoiz is, together with Errobi, the biggest name in Basque rock history. They were formed in 1976, and released their extremely sought-after debut LP in 1978, of course on the Xoxoa label. It could easily be one of the top Spanish progressive-symphonic records of all time, with guitar bass & drums plus great work of Jose A. Fernandez on Fender Rhodes, piano, Hammond organ and synthesizer. Eight great (and mostly long) tracks, including the fantastic 'Lau Teilatu' which with the years has become an absolute anthem for Basques. This reissue is limited to 500 copies, with the original gatefold gimmick cover and with insert."

Artist: ERROBI
Title: Ametsaren Bidea
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: GUESS 022LP
"The time has come we have to make this amazing (and rare!) LP available on vinyl again for a reasonable price. The third effort by the Basque prog-rock legend is, no doubt on that, their best album by far and a total masterpiece of the progressive rock genre. It was originally released in 1979 and features four songs only, two of them extremely long (17 and 13 minutes). Folk influences are strong but only in the great short opening track 'Alboka,' the others are powerful prog-rock with fantastic electric guitar leads and very skillful and tasteful drumming. First ever vinyl reissue of this legendary record, with remastered sound and original artwork in beautiful gatefold cover and with insert."

Artist: LA MOSCA (THE FLY)
Title: NPK2
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: GUESS 023LP
"1970. La Mosca ('the fly,' in English) released their sole album that year, and though being Spanish musicians, (and one French, we believe), the whole album is sung in perfect English. All tracks are written by Alfonso Sainz who was not in the group but was the producer, and includes the terrific 'Once Upon A Time,' a ferocious six-minute psychedelic dancer, as well as the Hammond instrumental 'Dreamy Sleeper' and the cool soft psych track 'Warning Signals' among others. Title: Parallelograms
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: GUESS 026LP
"Linda's sole album, originally released on Kapp in 1970, has gained its deserved fame and reputation in the folk-psych scene in the last years after the NY label Wild Places released it on CD format some few years ago. We could talk about Joni Mitchell and the likes if we had to compare with anything, but fans of folk music in all its variety must be delighted with this amazing album, a truly hippie psychedelic folk masterpiece and without any doubt one of the top albums of the genre. This beauty was reissued on vinyl a few years ago in Korea as well, in a 500 pieces limited pressing that sold out instantly...and we believe this one MUST be available unlimited so here we come with a gorgeous, tremendous sounding reissue of the legendary album plus 2 bonus tracks (exactly like the Korean release), a poster and an insert."

Artist: SAWYER, PHIL
Title: Childhood's End

Artist: CANTILO Y GRUPO, MIGUEL
Title: Miguel Cantilo y Grupo Sur
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.00
Catalog #: GUESS 028LP
"Argentinian Miguel Cantilo joined a hippie commune in the fall of 1972. There he wrote many songs together with Kubero Diaz (La Cofradia de la Flor Solar), incredible hard-psychedelia and a slight folk flavour at times. This is an absolute must for any psychedelic rock fan with overwhelming dual guitar, and no doubt it's one of the best Argentinian records of the '70s. This is its first vinyl reissue ever and the sound has been taken from original mastertapes resulting in a much better sound than the original! It's limited to 500 copies and comes with the gorgeous original gatefold cover."

Artist: DRANSFIELD, BARRY
Title: Barry Dransfield
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: GUESS 031LP
"In 1972, Barry Dransfield recorded his debut solo album. Just called Barry Dransfield, the album is a real delight from start to finish. It features an array of traditional songs arranged by Barry, some original ones and some fantastic covers from people like Michael Hurley ('The Werewolf') and David Ackles ('Be My Friend'). Sadly, the album was deleted just after nine months from its initial release, because it was released on Folk Mill, a Polydor sublabel created to enter the folk field, but the Polydor guys realized soon that this was not their business, and deleted their whole catalog immediately (including also the C.O.B. Moyshe McStiff... album). Needless to say, the album has become a true rarity and a collector's item since then. Record Hunter voted it 'the rarest folk album' and the Tapestry Of Delights book described it as 'along with Vashti Bunyan's Just A Diamond Day, this debut solo album, full of enchanting folk, is one of the two most sought after major label folk albums.' This wonderful album was reissued some years ago in a limited vinyl run of 500. Now we're very happy to announce our new, deluxe reissue on thick, HQ vinyl and hard carton cover, plus an insert with liner notes. A stunning release to add to our no-filler growing catalog. Absolutely indispensable!"

On this Guerssen reissue, you'll find the complete recordings of Grupo Amigos, including their only album and a killer non-LP 45 recorded the same year. Features an insert with liner notes and rare pictures. Taken from the original master tapes and licensed by Saúl Cornejo. 500 copies only!"

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Tirion Dir
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: GUESS 033LP
"Finally the third album of Welsh folk-psych-prog legends Pererin is made available again. Quite a huge number of you already purchased the previous Pererin reissue of their second, Teithgan so you all know what to expect from this platter, but for those who didn't, let me say it's another brilliant set of traditional songs played in their very own contemporary electrified folk style. 6 & 12 string guitars, bass, mandolin, synths, mellow percussions, flute... this might well be the folkier of all their albums, but there's still a strong progressive feel on it and some killer electric guitar leads. Another must-have for anyone into folk-prog, this is the last of the band's vinyl offerings, it was released in 1983 and was followed only by their last work that was only released on cassette. This brand new, first-ever reissue of this wonderful album is licensed by Arfon Wyn and comes with a replica of the original insert as well. Strictly limited to 500 copies."

Artist: GENESIS (COLOMBIA)
Title: Genesis
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: GUESS 034LP
"Not UK, not USA, not Uruguay, but Columbia. This Genesis comes from Columbia, and we can say it's a shame they used such a common name, as their music is absolutely unique! We're very, very proud to introduce you to this amazing band that for some reason we can't understand has never had the recognition they deserved. Founded by Humberto Monroy (ex-Speakers) in the very early '70s, they released a bunch of LPs, of which this is the second one. This self-titled album, their second, was recorded in March 1974 and released by Famoso (a Codiscos sub-label). It's a record that is still unmatched in its field. Flutes, acoustic, electric & 12 string guitars, percussions, bass, occasional harmonica and brilliant vocals offer an unusual and charming sound in the folk, rock & psychedelic vein, but always with a wonderful Andinean folk feel. Most of the tracks are written by Humberto, but the more famous number included on the album, which received a lot of radio airplay in Columbia at the time, was a chilling cover of 'Como decirte cuanto te amo' by Cat Stevens. Also, the psychedelic sounding 'Don Simon' was probably their major success. Spanish language lyrics praise the beauty of the environment and contain social messages in favor of farmers, natives & lower class people. This is the first-ever reissue of such a wonderful album, and it's a limited edition of 500 vinyl units only."

Artist: GENESIS (COLOMBIA)
Title: Yakta Mama
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: GUESS 035LP
"1975, only one year after their second and probably most successful album, was the time to get the third in stores. They gave it the title of Yakta Mama. This followed the same direction than their second and you get here a new amazing set of extremely well done mixes of folk, rock, psychedelia and Andinean folklore flavor. Killer stuff and no more! I can only tell you this is an obligatory purchase for anyone into folk-rock, psychedelic & ethnic rock!!! 500 copies only, with remastered sound and insert."

Artist: CAROL OF HARVEST
Title: Carol of Harvest
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.00
Catalog #: GUESS 037LP
"Germany, 1978. How these lads could record an album like this in 1978? Absolutely early '70s sounding progressive & psychedelic folk-rock masterpiece of the first order! Entirely sung in English by an incredibly young female vocalist, Beate Krause, only 16 when recording! Long tracks with excellent, killer acid guitar solos, and Moog! If you like groups like Mellow Candle or Pentangle, no doubt you need to purchase this one fast. Often praised as 'the best prog-folk record ever,' we don't know if such a thing is true, but we can definitely say this is an absolute classic of the genre. Besides that, the original label pressed only 200 copies of the LP, imagine how hard to find this is -- so here you have a new vinyl reissue of this wonderful record, with killer remastered sound, an insert with photos and liner notes, licensed by the band and in a limited edition of 700 copies."

Artist: FIRE
Title: En El Nom Del Pare...
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.00
Catalog #: GUESS 038LP
"Well-known British group led by Dave Lambert, Fire's 45 'Father's Name is Dad' (Decca, 1967) is considered a classic of the freakbeat genre, having been included in innumerable compilations since the '80s. The band is also remembered for their sole full-length album, The Magic Shoemaker, a perfect example of the transition from psychedelia to progressive rock, in 1970. But before releasing this album, the band recorded a number of demos and acetates, ranging from freakbeat to psychedelic and early prog-rock. We've put together in this vinyl a collection of their 45s, demos & acetates (exactly like the mighty label Tenth Planet did in the mid-'90s), which you can now get before the 500 copies sell out."

Artist: YVES, SERGE & VICTOR
Title: Cagibi...
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.00
Catalog #: GUESS 039LP
LP version. "Mega-rare private pressing from France, 1975, with only 300 copies made. Pretty unknown album, and a killer! Nothing you would expect from a French record, really; this is 100% USA early '70s sounding stuff, West Coast folk-rock with a psychedelic edge, CSNY feel, acoustic & electric guitars, some fierce fuzz assaults, English vocals -- an incredible discovery! The original pressing came with a plain white cover, and a few copies were later pasted-on with a few very low quality photos. For this reissue, we have used that paste-on collage, and added some more stuff on the back cover with photos from Serge's archive. Fully remastered sound, liner notes and limited to 500 copies."

Artist: COOLEY-MUNSON
Title: In Debt
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 040LP
LP version. Never reissued before in any format, now here we come with a splendid reissue, with the collaboration of the guys."

Artist: MUNSON, ALAN
Title: Good Morning World
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 041LP
LP version. Limited 500 copies vinyl pressing, comes with an insert with liner notes and unseen photos. "Alan Munson, the songwriter of Cooley-Munson duo, continued the folk-rock way. It took him some time, but in 1975 he was ready for what is (for him, and for me too), his best '70s work. Song arrangements include multiple guitar harmony lead solos and fills."

Artist: CASTRUS, PETRUS
Title: Mestre
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 042LP
"We're very, very pleased to introduce you to this wonderful album, after more than 2 years working on it! One of the top Portuguese '70s rock names, Petrus Castrus is surely better known for his Ascençao e Queda second album, reissued in Korea on CD a few years ago. But for most of the lucky people who could listen to both albums, the 1973 debut Mestre is the best one. Very highly rated (among the ones who know it!) in the progressive rock scene, this is so rare in original, very few people have it even in Portugal. The album consists on 11 tracks featuring Portuguese lyrics, effective drumming and strong use of keys, though never falling into the symphonic field, this might be a blend of progressive rock and slight psych tinges. Remastered sound from mastertapes and with the original gatefold cover, this is a welcome and long awaited release sure to fill lots of prog collection gaps! 500 copies only!"

Artist: KANENOBU, SACHIKO
Title: Misora
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: GUESS 043LP
"Misora (which can be roughly translated as Beautiful Sky), the 1972 debut album by Sachiko Kanenobu, a woman generally acknowledged as Japan's first female singer-songwriter. It's a near-perfect folk masterpiece, alternating full-bodied arrangements (produced by Harry Hosono of Yellow Magic Orchestra and Happy End) with Sachiko's lonesome guitar and pure, soaring vocals. Discovered as a precocious 18 year-old in Osaka, Sachiko was signed in 1968 to Japan's first-ever independent record company, URC (Underground Record Club), who changed Japan's musical landscape irrevocably in the late '60s and early '70s with artists like Happy End, Folk Crusaders and Kenji Endo. Sachiko was the only female artist on this era-defining label and the very fact that she wrote and sang her own songs made her a rarity among Japanese women. Limited reissue of 500 copies, in gatefold cover and with a 4 page insert featuring extensive liner notes, lyrics translated into English by Sachiko herself, and never before seen photos from the singer's own archives."

Artist: ONE WAY TICKET
Title: Time Is Right
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 044LP
"Behind this obscure and mysterious British late-'60s psych record we find the team of producers Brian Carroll and Damon Lyon-Shaw, famous for their involvement with mod-psych bands like Factory and Five Day Rain. During the late '60s, they also recorded some tracks of their own at the legendary IBC studios and produced a bunch of underground groups for their Homegrown company. Basically, instead of a real group, One Way Ticket was in fact a mixture of various recordings from bands that Carroll and Lyon-Shaw had been involved with producing through Homegrown during 1968, along with some recordings of their own. For some strange reason, all of these recordings surfaced many years later, when they were gathered and released as a budget pressing album, featuring a mysterious cover art and made-up liner notes & credits, under the One Way Ticket name on the President label in 1978. Musically, it's an odd album which ranges from late-'60s underground psych in the Chocolate Soup vein to freaky blues-psych not unlike Oliver's 'Standing Stone' with some glam-mod-psych and rockin' tunes. It even features three tracks also covered by the legendary Five Day Rain on their rare album." Reissued with original artwork and remastered sound, insert with lyrics and 500 copies only.

Artist: TREE PEOPLE, THE
Title: The Tree People
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 045LP
"Self-titled album by Oregon group Tree People has finally reached its deserved status after the excellent CD reissue released by Japanese label Tiliqua a couple years ago. Tree People is no other than a fantastic piece of hippie acid folk that clearly anticipates today's freak folk movement. Very clean production, with an Eastern flavor noticeable in many passages and using acoustic guitars, varied percussions and flutes, while the strong vocals of Stephen Cohen finalize the picture. Remastered sound from masters, has insert with rare photos."

Artist: FAPARDOKLY
Title: Fapardokly
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 048LP
"Fapardokly is probably regarded as the most important release in Merrell Fankhauser's long career, and an absolute collector's item. The band recorded about 30 tracks in a small studio in Palmdale, California, from 1965 to 1967, when the owner of the studio decided to release an album with some of these tracks. With such different recording dates, you find here different sounds -- organized '60s pop, jangly folk-rock, psychedelia -- a truly fantastic album that finally gets, for the first time, a legit vinyl reissue and with the original artwork. Comes with an insert featuring photo from Merrell's personal archive, and liner notes by him as well."

Artist: FANKHAUSER & HMS BOUNTY, MERRELL
Title: Things
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: GUESS 049LP
"One of the all-time '60s classics, coming out from the California desert of Antelope Valley where HMS leader Merrell Fankhauser lived for a couple of years. This was released on Uni in late 1968, and gosh it's a killer! Flower power psychedelia, great all original songs, this is one of these albums you shouldn't miss under any circumstance. Make yourself a favor and get one of these wonderful reissues we have for you, with remastered sound, original artwork and an insert with liners by Merrell and a great photo from his own archive."
