Artist: TRUCK
Title: Surprise, Surprise
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 002CD
This is a limited reissue of the sole album by Truck, a mysterious early '70s band from Malaysia. Featured in Hans Pokora's Record Collector Dreams book, causing a big stir among psych-collecting circles, as original copies are nowhere to be found. This is a real pop-psych gem with ultra melodic and catchy English Beatlesque vocals, a totally late sixties UK psych atmosphere, as well as awesome songwriting, great studio arrangements, moody orchestrations, fuzz and wah-wah guitar and great use of electric piano, keyboards and a weird analog synth-Moog which gives the album a wonderfully unique vibe. A must for all people into the more melodic psych-pop sounds. Think We All Together, Aerovons, Kaleidoscope (UK), Fairfield Parlour, Gary Walker & The Rain, Badfinger. No hype here, only top-level stuff. Fully remastered sound.

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Teithgan
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 004CD
Guerssen Records reissue this awesome second longplayer by Welsh psychedelic folk-rockers Pererin. Originally released in 1981 on the Gwerin label, this is an album of traditional Welsh folk meets rock, with psychedelic guitar leads, flute, and male and female vocals. For many this album is the band's best work, and it's definitely the rarest one. Definitely one of the best albums of the genre. Another superb rarity brought to you with a legit reissue by Guerssen, this release is an exact reproduction of the original, including the insert.

Artist: AGAMENON
Title: Todos Rien de Mi
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 005CD
This is the first time ever reissue of the sole album from Agamenon, the hippie group from Madrid who recorded what is no doubt the most acid psychedelic rock album recorded in Spain in the '70s. Originally released in 1975 on the Explosión label, an original copy of this album is very rare and collectable. No one knew anything about the group members -- it had been rumored to be some Argentinean guys living in Spain. In fact, the group was formed by two Spanish females and four males around leader Carlos Garcia, who sadly passed away not long ago and to whom this reissue is dedicated. Ten tracks, eight of them in English and two in Spanish, all originals and fantastic; there's lots of heavy acid fuzz guitar here, probably the wildest fuzz recorded in Spain ("Todos Rien de Mi," "Send Me" or "I Need Money"), and also some great sunshine psych-pop ("Cuco Go Fly," "Al Salir el Sol"), and it's all very well packed with some of the best multi-vocal harmonies you'll ever find on a Spanish record. A truly fantastic album, strongly recommended. Comes with an insert with some never-seen-before pictures and info about the band, plus a reproduction of a very rare band poster.

Artist: SAWYER, PHIL
Title: Childhood's End
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 006CD
A magical discovery from the down-under '70s psychedelic scene, Phil Sawyer's 1971 album Childhood's End, originally released in Australia on the Sweet Peach label, remains pretty unknown to most collectors. This is a wonderful album that will please anyone into psychedelia, rock and folk. Totally electric, great production, great songwriting -- and the warm, uneducated voice of Phil himself gives a slightly looser feel to it at times. The album contains some fantastic mid-tempo psychedelic folk-rock ballads, and the title track is an incredible slice of pure psychedelia, with lots of tasty psychedelic sound effects. The original is a very rare and collectable item (Hans Pokora gives it a 5-disc rating). This first-ever reissue is licensed from the original label and the sound is taken from the master tapes.

Artist: SUBWAY
Title: Subway
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 007CD
Subway was a duo consisting of an American and a guy from the UK who released their only album in France in an edition of 200 LPs in 1972. They lived and played for some time as street musicians, even performing their compositions in the Parisian subway, hence the band name. Unfortunately, the album fell through, so the unsold records were melted, as was usual in France at the time. The band performed fantastic psych-folk music with prog-rock elements. An absolutely top album, which hopefully will now reach a bigger audience, as the original LP is very rare. This great studio production is presented here with fully remastered sound. This first-ever CD reissue was made under license of the musicians.

Artist: HUBER, WALTI
Title: A Sense of Touch
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 008CD
Walti Huber is a Swiss musician now living in Germany, who self-produced this tremendous album in 1984. It was his second, and it's a masterpiece. Entirely sung in English -- featuring lyrics taken from poet William Blake -- this is an album of serene, intelligent, introspective, moody songwriting and production, with some fantastic electric guitar leads and male/female vocals on some tracks, all in a rainy day atmosphere that captivates you from the first listen. A real must-have album for all progressive-folk lovers. Three wonderful bonus tracks have been added from his work with the group Jetsam in 1988. Sourced from the original master tapes, this reissue includes a booklet with photos and info.

Artist: DAVIES & ROGER ILOTT, PENNY
Title: Restless
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 009CD
Penny Davies & Roger Ilott have been active since 1983, when they started their recording career with this excellent album. This is folk-rock at its best, with great acoustic and electric 6- & 12-string guitar from Roger and the female vocals of Penny (Roger contributes vocals as well, sometimes) adding some occasional percussion, tambourine, and mandolin. No drums, no bass; only wonderful melodies, naked and direct. Sixteen tracks in total, five of them are previously-unreleased bonus tracks taken from the same recording sessions. Slipcase features a new album cover (requested by Penny and Roger!) and a booklet with notes written by the duo.

Artist: DANDELION
Title: Dandelion
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 010CD
Guerssen Records reissues this mega-rarity from the '70s folk-psych French underground scene for the very first time. Featured on Hans Pokora's book with a four star rating, Dandelion's first album was first released in 1979 as a tiny private pressing of only 300 copies. It has a charming, amateurish/homemade vibe with some outstanding tracks like "Winter Tale" (featuring sound effects, reverberating guitars and lost vocals which bring to mind other lost bands like Tony, Caro & John or Agincourt), the acoustic "La Farfalla," with its nice femme vocals, and the atmospheric, organ-dominated "Sometimes," which opens the album in an impressive way. This reissue, done with help from guitarist/composer Jean Christophe Graf, features an insert with liner notes and rare pictures. Vinyl includes original picture sleeve design; CD with slimcase outer-carton cover. Remastered sound.

Artist: LUCENA, AGUSTIN PEREYRA
Title: Augustin Pereya Lucena
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $16.50
Catalog #: GUESS 010LP
Agustín Pereyra Lucena was an Argentinean bossa nova guitarist whose musical achievements impressed legendary Brazilian composer Vinicius de Moraes back in 1970 and whose influence can still be felt in contemporary music, such as in Scott Herren's Savath Y Savalas project. Guerssen Records presents the first-ever vinyl reissue of his debut album, originally released on Tonodisc in 1970. This is splendid, beautiful, sensitive bossa nova with the vital help of Helena Uriburu's marvelous voice. Unforgettable adaptations of Brazilian classics like "Consolaçao," "Berimbau" or "Samba do Aviao," together with Agustín's self-penned "Niña no Divagues" and many others. This one will become one of your favorite albums very soon. Limited edition of 1000 copies, with insert.

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Tirion Dir
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 011CD
Finally, the third album from Welsh folk-psych-prog legends Pererin is made available again. Quite a huge number of you purchased Guerssen's previous Pererin reissue of their second album, Teithgan, so you all know what to expect from this platter. It's another brilliant set of traditional songs played in their very own contemporary electrified folk style. 6- and12-string guitars, bass, mandolin, synths, mellow percussions, flute -- this might well be the folkier of all their albums, but there's still a strong progressive feel on it and some killer electric guitar leads. Another must-have for anyone into folk-prog, this is the last of the band's vinyl offerings, originally released in 1983 and followed only by their last work released on cassette. First time reissue on CD format, with amazing remastered sound and Guerssen Record's trademark outer carton slimcase. Licensed from Arfon Wyn.

Artist: GENESIS (COLOMBIA)
Title: Yakta Mama
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 013CD
1975, only one year after their second and probably most successful release, was the time for Genesis to get the third in stores. They gave it the title of Yakta Mama. This followed the same direction as their second album, and you get a new amazing set of extremely well done mixes of folk, rock, psychedelia and Andean folklore flavors. Killer stuff and no more! This is an obligatory purchase for anyone into folk, psychedelic and ethnic rock! Nice release with a full color booklet with info and pictures, remastered sound and the usual slimcase like all releases on Guerssen.

Artist: YVES & SERGE & VICTOR
Title: Cagibi
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 014CD
Guerssen reissues this mega-rare private pressing from France, 1975, with only 300 copies originally made. Pretty unknown album, and a killer! Nothing you would expect from a French record, really. This is 100% USA early-'70s sounding stuff: West Coast folk-rock with a psychedelic edge, CSNY feel, acoustic & electric guitars, some fierce fuzz assaults and English vocals. An incredible discovery! The original pressing came with a plain white cover, and a few copies were later pasted-on with a few very low quality photos. For this reissue Guerssen used this restored original artwork and also included a booklet with info and photos. Fantastic remastered sound.

Artist: QUICK, BILL
Title: Maravillosa Gente
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 015CD
The mysterious Bill Quick: this guy was the son of a North American dad and Venezuelan mum, and landed in Madrid in the early '70s, spending most of his time playing music and manufacturing leather belts and other stuff that he later sold at the popular Rastro flea market in Madrid, a meeting point for all hippies of the time. He somehow got in touch with famous producer Alain Milhaud, who was really impressed by his work and quickly offered him a deal to record a long-play to be released in Milhaud's own Explosion label. Then Bill recruited some top studio musicians and foreign friends who were also living in Madrid at the time; the list of people who play on the recording is impressive: up to eleven musicians joined Bill in the recording studio including Salvador Dominguez and Chema Pellicó (ex-Cerebrum), Rafa Gálvez (later on Vainica Doble's backing band), Frank Rojas (Sangre) and Jess Lam (Jess & James). As a result, Maravillosa Gente ("Beautiful People") was recorded. Ranging from beautiful, introspective, acoustic solo tracks like "Beautiful People," "Only the Weather" or the acid-folk of "Winter's Gonna Come," to full backing-band hard-edged ones like "Take Me Away," "Somebody" and the folk-rock sounding "With You, Lord" or "I Sing This Song." The album is a real treat from start to finish with an awesome sound and amazing production (it was recorded at one of the most advanced Spanish recording studios at the time), along with top musicianship and Bill's amazing songwriting. This album is a real big ticket that was absolutely ignored in Spain at the time of its release, and even today remains unknown to most folk-rock collectors and fans. Curiously enough, the album was released in Brazil as well (with poor sales again), with different cover art. With carefully remastered sound, this is now reissued for the first time. Includes a booklet with pictures and detailed liner notes telling the wonderful and strange story of this mysterious musician.

Artist: GRUPO AMIGOS
Title: Paloma Mensajera
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 016CD
Originally released as a demo pressing in 1973, Paloma Mensajera by Peruvian band Grupo Amigos is without doubt one of the rarest albums from the South American psych scene. Only a handful of copies were pressed for the band members and needless to say, an original copy is impossible to find now. The band was formed by some long-time friends of Saúl and Manuel Cornejo, both from legendary Peruvian bands Laghonia and We All Together. Manuel Cornejo played drums on the album recordings and Saúl was the session engineer. Influenced by groups like The Beatles, The Byrds, The Stones, Badfinger, Shakers and of course Laghonia and We All Together, the music ranges from terrific guitar psych-rock like "Dirty Girl" (which sounds like an outtake from Laghonia's first album) to British sounding pop-psych ("Mr. Taylor's Train," "Psychiatrist") harmony pop á la Byrds on "Looking for Home," a few rockin' tunes and some beautiful mid-tempos which show their We All Together influence. They alternate between English and Spanish in their lyrics. On this Guerssen reissue, you'll find the complete recordings of Grupo Amigos, including their only album and a killer non-LP 45 recorded the same year. Features a booklet with liner notes and rare pictures, and Guerssen's usual carton slimcase. Taken from the original master tapes.

Artist: COOLEY-MUNSON
Title: In Debt
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 017CD
Bill Cooley and Alan Munson were two friends in Santa Barbara, California, spending their early twenties writing folk-rock songs for their pleasure. That was 1972, and they decided to put these songs into the studio, self-produce an album and press a tiny quantity of 500 pieces hoping it could help with getting a contract with a major company. This never happened, as you might have guessed, and their sole album, In Debt, has become a major collector's item among folk rock and psychedelic rock listeners and collectors. Today, original copies of this record fetch astounding sums when changing hands in record fairs or internet auctions. This being a private pressing, you can easily imagine it's not a big production, but that doesn't matter; this album has the right feel and you won't need anything else to make it one of your faves. All tracks are original compositions, and the style is very personal. It's folk rock, but many tracks are quite psychedelic in their own way. But don't look close for influences -- they will not come to mind that easily. Bill and Alan had their own psychedelic folk-rock style, and the raw, sometimes amateurish feel of these recordings gives the album the final, distinctive touch. Never reissued before in any format, this reissue comes with the collaboration of the artists. Remastered sound taken from the master tapes, CD version comes with booklet and outer slimcase.

Artist: MUNSON, ALAN
Title: First Light
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 018CD
And here's the last of the '70s works by Alan Munson. Originally released in 1979, again in small quantities, on the Parallax label in California. The First Light album doesn't easily fit into a music category box. The songs range from psych rock, to some fairly laidback folk-rock, and even a song with a country rock feel. Instruments played on the record include electric and acoustic guitars, electric bass and drums. Lead solos are all played on electric guitar; a 'clean' sound on the acoustic based songs and guitar effects were used on the psych rock songs. Strong lead vocals and background harmony vocals, all-in-all making another excellent album as result. This reissue includes one unreleased bonus track and is remastered from the original tapes. First time ever reissue. The CD comes with a booklet, and outer carton slimcase.

Artist: MUNSON, ALAN
Title: Good Morning World
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 019CD
Alan Munson, the songwriter of the Cooley-Munson duo, continued the folk-rock way. It took him some time, but in 1975 he was ready for what is his best '70s work. Incredibly, Good Morning World was only released in cassette, and in a limited run, so no one heard it at the time. Good Morning World includes nine original, acoustic based songs with a mellow psych and folk rock sound across this album. Meaningful and understandable lyrics, delivered by "close-up" lead vocals, and background harmony vocals. Instruments played on the album include 6-string acoustic guitar, 12-string acoustic guitar, electric bass and percussion. Song arrangements include multiple guitar harmony lead solos and fills. Includes a booklet with info and notes; housed in outer carton slipcase.

Artist: PERERIN
Title: Yng Ngolau Dydd
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 020CD
Welsh folk prog group Pererin are still not known to have released a 4th album in their career, and that's because it was only released on cassette, and most of the copies remained shelved without distribution. But it's a wonderful album and Guerssen Records rescues the music on this reissue. Released in the mid-'80s, Yng Ngolau Dydd is the most traditional work by Pererin. On this one you won't find electric guitar or keyboards. This is much more traditional Welsh folk, with strong use of mandolin, as well as electric guitar, percussions, violin and some flute as well. A strong album, featuring some tracks that might be among the best of the group's whole repertory, like the instrumental closing track, which still has the relaxing prog feel of some earlier works. Now released in limited CD-only pressing, with master tape sound and new artwork.

Artist: FACTORY, THE
Title: Path Through The Forest
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 021CD
'60s UK freakbeat legends The Factory get a new legit re-release of their complete available recordings and Guerssen is the proud new home for them. A real cult freakbeat & psychedelic group, well-known for such all-time favorite classics as "Path Through The Forest" and "Try A Little Sunshine," Factory released only a couple of 45s (both of them obscenely hard to find and going for heaps of money when rarely showing up). Here we get the 4 tracks which appearing on the 45s, plus a couple of tracks taken from acetates (killer covers of Family's "Second Generation Woman" and Fairport Convention's "Mr. Lacey"), as well as a new mix of "Path Through The Forest" that includes the original psychedelic effects that were supposed to make it on the original release but were dropped out by the MGM label supervisor. Remastered sound (only beware: "Second Generation Woman" comes from a destroyed acetate!) and with liner notes by Factory's producer Brian Carroll.

Artist: ITOIZ
Title: Itoiz
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.50
Catalog #: GUESS 021LP
Itoiz is, together with Errobi, the biggest name in Basque rock history. They were formed in 1976, and released their extremely sought-after debut LP in 1978, of course on the Xoxoa label. It could easily be one of the top Spanish progressive-symphonic records of all time, with guitar bass & drums, plus great work from Jose A. Fernandez on Fender Rhodes, piano, Hammond organ and synthesizer. Eight great (and mostly long) tracks, including the fantastic "Lau Teilatu" which has become an absolute anthem for Basques. This reissue is limited to 500 copies, with the original gatefold gimmick cover and with insert.

Artist: ONE WAY TICKET
Title: Time Is Right
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 022CD
Previously released on vinyl by Guerssen Records, now available on CD. Behind this obscure and mysterious British late-'60s psych record, we find team of producers Brian Carroll and Damon Lyon-Shaw, famous for their involvement with mod-psych bands like The Factory and Five Day Rain. During the late '60s, they also recorded some tracks of their own at the legendary IBC studios and produced a bunch of underground groups for their Homegrown company. Basically, instead of a real group, One Way Ticket was, in fact, a mixture of various recordings from bands that Carroll and Lyon-Shaw had been involved with producing through Homegrown during 1968, along with some recordings of their own. For some strange reason, all of these recordings surfaced many years later, when they were gathered and released as a budget pressing album, featuring mysterious cover art, made-up liner notes and credits, under the One Way Ticket name on the President label in 1978. Musically, it's an odd album which ranges from late-'60s underground psych in the Chocolate Soup vein to freaky blues-psych not unlike Oliver's Standing Stone, with some glam-mod-psych and rockin' tunes. It even features three tracks also covered by the legendary Five Day Rain on their rare album.

Artist: ERROBI
Title: Ametsaren Bidea
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.50
Catalog #: GUESS 022LP
The third effort by the Basque prog-rock legend is their best album by far and a total masterpiece of the progressive rock genre. It was originally released in 1979 and features four songs, two of them extremely long (17 and 13 minutes). Folk influences are strong on the great short opening track "Alboka," while the others are powerful prog-rock with fantastic electric guitar leads and very skillful, tasteful drumming. First ever vinyl reissue of this legendary record, with remastered sound and presented with original artwork in a beautiful gatefold cover with insert.

Artist: LOS FLIPPERS
Title: Pronto Viviremos Un Mundo Mucho Mejor
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 023CD
One of Colombia's better known '60s & '70s groups is Los Flippers, but few people outside of Colombia know about this wonderful 1973 album they made. It's probably because it was self-released on their leader Arturo Astudillo's own label, rather than the bigger labels they used before, hence low sales. But in any case, it's no doubt a great album that must be heard. The music is quite special, blending psychedelia with a progressive sound and soul as well. Impeccably produced, here we find Los Flippers at their peak of inspiration, and by this point, they were a bunch of very experienced musicians. The result is much more mature than any of their previous works, and they achieved a sound that ranks right up there with any supergroup. With completely original compositions (and one Buddy Miles cover), they used a good dose of psychedelic effects and some tasty horns as well. As an addition, this reissue includes a bonus track from an earlier 45, with a killer sound reminiscent of Iron Butterfly. Remastered directly from the tapes (except for the bonus track), and including an insert with liner notes by Arturo Astudillo.

Artist: LA MOSCA (THE FLY)
Title: NPK2
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.50
Catalog #: GUESS 023LP
"1970. La Mosca ('the fly,' in English) released their sole album that year, and though being Spanish musicians, (and one French, we believe), the whole album is sung in perfect English. The content of this wonderful album (which was also released in Brazil at the time) is psychedelic rock, sometimes groovy, sometimes soft, always very well executed and with great Hammond organ work along with fantastic guitar and vocals. All tracks are written by Alfonso Sainz who was not in the group but was the producer, and includes the terrific 'Once Upon A Time,' a ferocious six-minute psychedelic dancer, as well as the Hammond instrumental 'Dreamy Sleeper' and the cool soft psych track 'Warning Signals' among others. First time ever reissue of this rare and obscure psychedelic gem, with fully remastered sound, gorgeous laminated gatefold cover and including an exact repro of the rare poster. Limited to 500 copies."

Artist: WARLUS
Title: Songs
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 024CD
Previously released on vinyl by Guerssen Records, now available on CD. Released as a private edition of only 200 copies in 1977 on the Joint label (but recorded two years earlier, in 1975), Warlus' Songs could be regarded as the king of all '70s French, obscure private pressings. Warlus was the brainchild of young musician Richard Maubert, who created a mini-masterpiece of twisted, melancholic, fuzzed-out psychedelic-pop, with a charming homemade sound/production and druggy atmosphere. Sung in English (and sounding incredibly at times like John Lennon) and recorded in an empty theater with one other guitarist, it also brings to mind obscure, private U.S. pressings like Kath. This is a very special record that will appeal to both psych aficionados and fans of '70s DIY weirdness. If you like other French private pressings like Dandelion and Les Temps Heureux, you'll be amazed when you hear Warlus. The reissue includes liner notes and pictures. Carefully remastered from a clean original copy (mastertapes were lost in time), and done under permission from Richard Maubert.

Artist: BIXBY, DAVE
Title: Ode To Quetzalcoatl
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 025CD
Since its discovery in the late '90s, Dave Bixby's legendary $2000 private press album from 1969 is considered by all serious record collectors as the king in the loner/downer-folk genre. After being involved in '60s Michigan folk and garage-rock bands such as The Shillelaghs and Peter & The Prophets, Bixby started playing acoustic guitar and experimenting with LSD. After a year of drug abuse, he felt broken. Starting a soul-searching, spiritual journey, he wrote Ode To Quetzalcoatl and most of the material for his second album, Harbinger's Second Coming in just a month and a half. Assisted by fellow musician Brian MacInness, who played some guitar parts on the album, Bixby recorded this record in a living room using an echo-laden 4-track machine. The sound is lo-fi and sparse: just acoustic guitars and some occasional harmonica & flute, added to Bixby's haunting, emotional vocals, spiritual lyrics and solid songwriting. The opening cut, the eerie and painful "Drug Song" sets the mood perfectly for the rest of the album. Never again has an acoustic folk album sounded as intense as this. Reissued for the first time under license from Dave Bixby himself, and carefully remastered from vinyl (no master tapes exist) at Shadoks Music Studios. Includes an insert with extensive and detailed liner notes by Matvei Procak -- the guy who found Bixby in 2006 -- plus some rare pictures.

Artist: HARBINGER
Title: Second Coming
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 026CD
Unknown to most '60s/'70s collectors until its discovery a few years ago, this is the beyond rare second album released by loner/downer folk legend Dave Bixby, recorded around 1969, the same year as his first one, the now-famous Ode To Quetzalcoatl. Musically, Second Coming is equally as good and very similar to the first one, but this time the recording took place in a professional studio, so the sound is improved. Bixby is joined by Brian MacInness on guitar, Sandy Johnson on vocals and Don DeGraaf on bass and production duties. Don was in fact leader of the, in the end, destructive religious cult known as "The Group" or "The Movement," of which Bixby and Brian were part of. The sound is more up-front and the songs are slightly optimistic compared to the ones on Ode To Quetzalcoatl, and there's plenty of acoustic 12-string raga guitars and harmony male/female vocals. The lyrics deal with cosmic imagery, psychedelics and religious/biblical references, but this goes much deeper than any Xian record you've ever heard -- titles such as "Cosmic Energy," "Time To Clear Your Mind," "Rainbow," and "Circus World" point towards some sort of New Age/post-Revelations utopian consciousness. Reissued for the first time under license from Dave Bixby himself, and carefully remastered from a clean vinyl (no master tapes exist) at Shadoks Music Studios. Includes an insert with extensive and detailed liner notes by Matvei Procak -- the guy who found Bixby in 2006 -- plus some rare pictures.

Artist: PERHACS, LINDA
Title: Parallelograms
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.50
Catalog #: GUESS 026LP
"Linda's sole album, originally released on Kapp in 1970, has gained its deserved fame and reputation in the folk-psych scene in the last years after the NY label Wild Places released it on CD format some few years ago. We could talk about Joni Mitchell and the likes if we had to compare with anything, but fans of folk music in all its variety must be delighted with this amazing album, a truly hippie psychedelic folk masterpiece and without any doubt one of the top albums of the genre. This beauty was reissued on vinyl a few years ago in Korea as well, in a 500 pieces limited pressing that sold out instantly...and we believe this one MUST be available unlimited so here we come with a gorgeous, tremendous sounding reissue of the legendary album plus 2 bonus tracks (exactly like the Korean release), a poster and an insert." Last copies of this now deleted version.

Artist: TREE PEOPLE, THE
Title: Human Voices
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 027CD
This is the second album from Oregon's The Tree People, the late '70s predecessors to the ongoing new folk movement in the USA. You already know about their 1979 debut album and you know it's a masterpiece, but did you know about their second album recorded in 1984? Surely not, especially because it was a cassette-only release with a very short print-run. Luckily enough, The Tree People guys kept the mastertapes of these recordings and Guerssen Records is proud to be making this wonderful music available again. Reissued on CD with a vinyl version to come later, the sound quality is splendid, and the music itself is equally as good, if not better than, their self-titled debut and is a real must for any folk and psych-folk lover. Acoustic guitars, subtle percussion, wonderful flute work and some warm vocals -- overall, this is a real big dose of quality and originality that makes The Tree People's music absolutely ahead of its time and therefore so much admired today. A real beauty! This CD includes a booklet with liner notes by the band's leader Stephen Cohen, as well as some nice pictures.

LP version. "A magical discovery from the down under '70s psychedelic scene. Phil Sawyer's 1971 album Childhood's End, originally released in Australia on the Sweet Peach label, remains pretty unknown yet to most of collectors around. No justice. This is a wonderful album that will please anyone into psychedelia, rock and folk. Totally electric, great production, great songwriting, warm uneducated voice by Phil himself that gives a slight looser feel to it at times... the album contains some fantastic mid-tempo psychedelic folk-rock ballads, and the song that gives name to the album is an incredible slice of pure psychedelia with lots of tasty psychedelic sound effects. This is a very rare and collectable item in original (Hans Pokora gives 5 discs to it in his books). This first ever reissue is licensed from the original label and the sound is taken from the mastertapes."

Title: Livin' Free
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 028CD
In 1967, a bunch of U.S. and Argentinean kids recorded a magical album which has remained unknown for many years due to its extreme rarity, with less than a handful of copies known to exist. Released in 1968 in Argentina by Phonexa, the Schibbinz album could be regarded as the ultimate teen garage folk-rock album, ever. An album of fragile beauty, full of teen charm, innocent vocals, jangly guitars, charming, lo-fi sound and a lost-in-time atmosphere. Guerssen Records is proud to present this mega-rare album to the world, with the production fully benefitting from the band's involvement and assistance. The original master tapes were lost, but the sound has been carefully-remastered from an original near-mint copy. Extensive, detailed liner-notes and lots of cool pictures from the band's archives are all included in a 4-page insert. Also includes 3 unreleased bonus tracks not available on the vinyl version.

Artist: NOWIK, WILLIAM
Title: Pan Symphony In E Minor
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GUESS 029CD
One of the newest and most surprising discoveries in the '60s & '70s rock rarities field, William Nowik's Pan Symphony In E Minor caused a big hype among collectors. Certainly easy to understand, as it's an ace album no one had heard of before. Guitarist William Nowik recorded this obscure instrumental record back in 1974 somewhere in New York. It has such a deep feeling, and is nothing anyone could have done without really loving it aside of any commercial view. Psychedelic, progressive, very early Floyd-sounding at times, Crimson-esque, and a kind of sound that reminds of the early '70s British underground but with an experimental, trippy touch. Fourteen tracks in total, but played like suites. Seems only 200 copies were pressed and never distributed, so it needed 35 years to be discovered! This wonderful reissue comes with the intended original artwork (it came out in a green and black cover instead of the black and white that William wanted), has nice remastered sound and includes a booklet with rare, unseen photos and extended liner-notes.

Artist: SOURDELINE
Title: La Reine Blanche
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: GUESS 031CD
Formed in 1972 in Northern France, Sourdeline has remained a hidden treasure for decades. With a strong Pentangle influence in their works, they released a couple of astounding albums during the next few years, acquiring a wonderful baroque folk sound based on some traditional French folk songs in addition to many originals, with the use of a large number of traditional instruments. Their first disc La Reine Blanche is from 1976 and is considered a classic of continental European '70s folk -- certainly an album that will please anyone into folk-prog. This is the first-ever, deluxe reissue of this record and it has been completely remastered. Includes a fantastic booklet with unseen photos and liners by Sourdeline fan Margaret Ayre of Fern Knight, as well as Sourdeline's story written by the band's leader Jean-Pierre Danielsen.

Artist: DRANSFIELD, BARRY
Title: Barry Dransfield
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.50
Catalog #: GUESS 031LP
In 1972, Barry Dransfield recorded this debut solo album. A real delight from start to finish, it features an array of traditional songs arranged by Barry, some original ones and some fantastic covers from people like Michael Hurley ("The Werewolf") and David Ackles ("Be My Friend"). Sadly, the album was deleted just after nine months from its initial release; because it was released on the short-lived Polydor sub-label Folk Mill. Needless to say, the album has become a true rarity and a collector's item since then. Record Hunter voted it "the rarest folk album" and the Tapestry Of Delights book described it as "along with Vashti Bunyan's Just A Diamond Day, this debut solo album, full of enchanting folk, is one of the two most sought after major label folk albums." This deluxe reissue is pressed on thick, HQ vinyl and housed in a hard carton cover with an insert with liner notes. A stunning release in Guerssen's no-filler catalog. Absolutely indispensable.

This is the second and last album by French folk-prog band Sourdeline from 1977. And, though Jeanne d'Aymé is the lesser-known of both of their albums, it is for those at Guerssen their definitive work, a truly major discovery waiting for you who are not yet in the know. This is the first-ever deluxe reissue of this record with remastered sound. Includes a fantastic booklet with unseen photos and liner notes by Gerald Van Waes, as well as Sourdeline's story written by the band's leader Jean-Pierre Danielsen. Far-out French psych/prog/trad folk heavily in the Pentangle vein, with male/female vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, sitar, tabla, flute, mandolin, violin, etc.

Absolutely early '70s-sounding progressive and psychedelic folk-rock masterpiece of the first order. Entirely sung in English by an incredibly young female vocalist, Beate Krause, only 16 years-old! Easily one of the most exciting psychedelic folk-rock albums from the UK, this is the debut disc by Welsh fellows Pererin, originally released in 1980. Entirely sung in the Welsh language (like all their discography, all available through Guerssen), this definitely has the most '70s sound of them all. Features lovely male and female vocals, strong Celtic influences, and some added great electric lead guitar, as well as fantastic flute and violin work. A total masterpiece in the folk-psych/folk-prog genre, definitely for fans of Pentangle, driving folk-rock, and pastoral balladry -- featuring some stunning original artwork as well. Comes with an insert with liners and pictures, plus a coupon for a free mp3 download.

Artist: MANCO, BARIS
Title: Dünden Bugüne
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.50
Catalog #: GUESS 054LP
Barış Manço was one of the leading, most influential and most beloved Turkish rock musicians, along with Erkin Koray, Edip Akbayram and Cem Karaca, and this is his first long-player, released in 1971 by Sayan Productions. It's a compilation of tracks taken from previously-released 45s, plus the track "Lory" that only appears on this album. Killer psych-rock with a strong Turkish flavor, this features Baris' all-time classics like "Derule" and "Dağlar Dağlar I," as well as the brutal, wah-wah flooded "Küçük Bir Gece Müzigi," with its infectious drumming that drives anyone searching for sampling stuff mad. Not to be confused with two different releases with the same name that actually have different tracklistings and artwork, this is the real album as it was originally released. Reissued on vinyl for the first time, and including an insert with great photos of Barış as well as detailed liner notes.

Artist: 3 HUR-EL
Title: Hürel Arsivi
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.50
Catalog #: GUESS 056LP
This is the second album by Turkish ethno psych-rockers 3 Hür-El, originally released in 1976 on the Diskötur label. Comprised of three brothers, Onur (bass), Haldun (drums, percussion) and Feridun Hürel (saz-guitar, vocals), they were one of the very few, if not the only, Turkish groups at the time not doing any covers, but only self-penned compositions. Hürel Arsivi is an absolute killer of an album and easily one of the top Turkish psych records ever released. It has a more Western feel, with brother Feridun here infected by a fuzz-virus and his own two-arm guitar (one for guitar, one for saz). Also there's much more heavy drums than percussion, in an astounding blend of psychedelic rock and traditional Turkish instrumentation, and of course, plenty of distorted fuzz guitar and electric saz. Includes an insert with detailed liner notes and photos.

Artist: 3 HUR-EL
Title: 3 Hür-El
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.50
Catalog #: GUESS 057LP
This is the 1972 debut album by Turkish ethno psych-rockers, 3 Hür-El. Comprised of three brothers, Onur (bass), Haldun (drums, percussion) and Feridun Hürel (saz-guitar, vocals), they were one of the very few, if not the only, Turkish groups at the time not doing any covers, but only self-penned compositions. Having played together for their whole life (other projects included Trio Istanbul, Biraderler, Alizeler, and Oguzlar, and all three brothers were members of the Selçuk Alagöz Orchestra), it was in the late '60s when they formed 3 Hür-El, releasing two wonderful albums. Feridun created the double-neck saz-guitar -- a combination of electric saz and electric guitar in the same body -- and Haldun's drum set was an assemblage of darbukas (a Turkish percussive instrument which is also used in North Africa & the Arabian Peninsula) in different sizes, which were made by the copper masters of the Beyazit Bazaar in Istanbul. Their self-titled debut is comprised of a brilliant set of Turkish ethno-influenced folk-rock with a psychedelic/progressive feel, some great electric guitar and fantastic Eastern percussion. This very rare album is now available again, with remastered sound from the original mastertapes. Includes an insert with detailed liner notes and photos.

Artist: POWDER
Title: Biff! Bang! Powder
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.50
Catalog #: GUESS 060LP
California doesn't look like the natural place for a band sounding the way these guys did, but they were certainly there. During the mid-to-late '60s, the Powder sound was much more British than West Coast-inspired, and they built their legend on being one of the most exciting, mod, pre-power-pop combos ever. Responsible for anthems such as "I Try" or "Turn Another Page," among many other killer tracks, their music has pleased all mods and pure pop fans around for decades. Despite avid endorsement by Sonny & Cher, Powder never officially released an album. U.S. label Distortions put out a compilation of their tracks many, many years ago, and Guerssen Records makes these recordings, mostly 1968 demos, available again for the new Powder generation. Totally ahead of its time, totally catchy. 500 copies only.

Guerssen Records reissues on newly-remastered vinyl the rarest of all '70s Portuguese albums, and one of the best-ever progressive rock records from Europe. Quarteto 1111 are better known for their psychedelic-pop recordings, but in 1974, they also released this incredible album, a brutal, mellotron-fuelled progressive rock monster very much inspired by UK prog outfits such as King Crimson. A few years after, Quarteto's leader José Cid recorded the well-known 10000 Anos Depois Entre Venus e Marte. The album contains one long 30+ minutes suite only, and it sold only 600 copies, becoming one of the rarest collector items from Portugal. An absolute must-have album, and a very nice reissue with the original artwork including backflaps, and a fantastic remastered sound. Swirling Hammond grooves by keyboard virtuoso Henri Garella, top guitar-playing by Jean-Pierre Alarcen, and a tight, funky rhythm section create one of the best early prog/psych French albums ever. Completely mind-blowing Hammond B3-work from one of the best players of the era, backed by burning guitar, and a solid, propulsively grooving rhythmic backbone.

Artist: BLACKBURN & MARY LAUREN, JOHNNY
Title: Echoes Of Love's Reality
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $27.50
Catalog #: GUESS 073LP
"Most would probably agree that this is one of the very best psych-style LPs from the 1980s. Not retro at all but (like Bobb Trimble) a piece of the late 1960s preserved from time's rust. Male/female vocals lament and serenade the quest for knowledge of love and beauty in an appealing soundscape, with lyrical guitar leads throughout, good use of mellotron, occasional tablas, flute and bells. The recording has a definite 1981 sound but (again, like Bobb Trimble) this somehow becomes an advantage. There's not a questionable song on this album, recommended to anyone open for a soft, dreamy trip inside the melancholy and bliss of an acid-tinted romance." --Patrick Lundborg, The Acid Archives; High-quality reissue in 180 gram vinyl, housed in a nice package with original artwork, unbeatable remastered sound quality and also including a huge 16-page booklet with lyrics and drawings. Limited edition of 500 copies only.

A legendary album lovingly reissued featuring original artwork, master tape sound, 180 gram vinyl and detailed liner notes by Andy Morten (Shindig! Magazine).

Title: Test Flight
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $23.50
Catalog #: GUESS 077LP
West Coast Consortium spinoff Airbus never played live or even released a record during their 1970-1972 lifespan, instead spending their entire subterranean existence holed up in their self-owned London studio, writing and performing innumerable high quality demos and then attempting to place those songs with major label acts. But, more by accident than design, they came to leave behind THE Great Lost Early '70s British Pop Album -- a jaw-dropping collision of superb songs, dazzling vocal harmonies, intelligent lyrics and hook-laden melodies. Here, then, is the strange, previously-untold story of a band that didn't leave so much as a footprint in the musical sands, but recorded a greater number of three-minute pop nuggets than almost all of their contemporaries. In a limited pressing of 500 copies on 180 gram vinyl with detailed liner notes.

Housed in a high-quality carton cover and pressed on 180 gram vinyl, with an unbeatable remastered sound quality. Includes an insert with photos, liners and lyrics.

Artist: SUBWAY
Title: Subway
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.50
Catalog #: GUESS 085LP
180 gram LP version. An absolutely top album and a must for any psych and folk fan. This vinyl edition is housed in a high quality carton cover and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Brilliant, fully remastered sound quality. Includes an insert with photos and liner notes.

It can honestly be stated that Evolution is one of the best pop albums ever. Title: Butterfly
Label: GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $25.50
Catalog #: GUESS 088LP
The second of two 1967 albums by The Hollies showed them as psychedelic as they ever were, and just like on their previous Evolution, none of the songs on the LP were used on 45s and they all were original compositions. Again, mainly a Nash-led project, there's nothing you'll miss when listening -- it's the Hollies' pop grandiosity going one step beyond. On Butterfly, you'll find nothing but tremendous songs, like the epic "Would You Believe," the full-blown psychedelia of "Try It," or the mighty "Dear Eloise." Another masterpiece no one should miss, now proudly reissued with high quality standards by longtime Hollies fans at Guerssen Records. Reproduction of the UK mono version in a 350 gram carton cover with old-style backflaps, pressed on 180 gram vinyl, including an insert with extensive liner notes by Andy Morten.
