Boggs Volume 2
is a collection of two long out of print CDR's from Wolf Eyes member, Aaron Dilloway. This new release contains, in their original entirety, the
Seizure
CDR released by Hanson and the
Appalling & Alive
3" CDR released by Chondritic Sound. 'Hound Dog Guy Still Alive' Boggs? What the fuck is that? It's a lake filled with witch urine, the real scary type. Three parts expired turpentine, two parts glow-in-the-dark ghost pee & the murky rest filled the reel to reel scrape dust from a light-free candled basement. The soundtrack? This Brighton-born-alien-bird-celled-creature, Aaron Dilloway. Dude's intense, but drunk in a moldy cellar you can tip him upside down to get the change he owes you. Awesome sounds/primitive shit that smart types try to capture in academic wooden hideaways but end up sounding like Paul K & Weathermen. He is for real. These tracks lead to goblin hell that is a broken train built on years of instinct, beer, horror & intimacy. His tape & electronic work is nearly peerless, save for Santa Claus' Black Gnome label cassette catalog. Pumping this serious Michigan shit on a half-mooned night will result in your blood planning a meeting to infect your brain with a mock party of jellied-filled balloons that when popped, turn your sanity into a maggot feeding frenzy while singing backwards to a Pepsi half-time ad. Seriously! These transparent audio diaries have been originally released in different forms. Who cares? Count your fingers instead. In life you have two choices: Stop and Be Rad or Stop Being Rad. Aaron 'Night Fighter' Dills been doing his own thing since shorts were baggy & Stephen King was the master musician of horror. Be happy you have two rare boys in one bomb package. Spend the rest of your heart-blood pumping time searching for the third Los Tammies wax while getting to the bottom of
Boggs Vol. 2
human tape message time eating symphonies. A one-man stereo Desert Barn Stormer. The only & best 'people person' of horrible noise. I should know, I have been in nearly every possible good & bad situation with him from rock fights, underage beer blowouts, and 13 years in basements. A mangy man of many talents, hear the one in your claw-fist then check out our funk band Stupid Goose. You can wave at the UPS guy but he is still gonna deliver a box of razor babies to you. Local hip hop? Will take Rock Bottom over Slum Village any day of the week, he's' just .. I dunno ... harder...." -- John Olson.

"Man... this kid is a force to reckon with. Jon Borges made his live debut at age 14 at Canada's 1999 No Music festival curated by the Nihilist Spasm Band. He has a control and focus that most in the underground noise community lack. Can sooth and destroy you with washes of white noise, intensely edited cut up abrasive electronics and junk sound and completely depress you with passages of truly dismal piano, tape manipulations and drones. This is his second mass produced full length CD and it's about FUCKING TIME!! Finally this stellar work from Jon Borges' Pedestrian Deposit is released! Passages of truly dismal piano, tape manipulations and drones. I am proud to have co-released this w/ Prurient's Hospital Productions."

"Weird dudes jamming synths. Alone. Social Problems. Problems. Recorded late into the night. Fucking A. That is the business, right there. Check 'Ze Wormnest' or Matthew Young for bleary eyed-no-fan sound destruction. Shit is just creepy-gets under your skin. While most noise youth get their chocolate fingers lost in gadgetry and posturing-something about a synth jam that's just.... Human ... humanly wrong. But fucking right. Right on Hive Mind. Out of some strange comic miasma emerged this hulking thing known for playing in corners or under black sheets with short fingers churning out cosmic tales of bass heavy sheets of molten alien sound cut with xray pirate eyes. Dude is some serious Michigan shit. This sound-injecting terrorist is crew to all the like minded and total jag-off MI underground weirdo brethren's. I think he soaked his pyramid genitals in ice cold antifreeze to get where
Death Tone
lives in underwater-cave life. Jamz are just lurking around your chest buzzing like a Mike Tyson bee until a nuclear war-spear goes directly into your chest leaving your breath exchanged for Korean X-Files future creature Autopsy scenes. I've been to Roswell, shit is creepy, even at Pizza Hut, mid day. None of my crew jamz synths, some dabble but don't have the slomo overbite terror vision of my man Hive Mind. Isn't your jellied brain a fucking hive? Mine has a really big queen in the center telling me to keep watching
The Thing
(remake) with the sound off in a super warm birth room while listening to
Death Tone
on a dying Walkman. I don't listen to the queen, or take advice. Me and my man the Kid thought all Hive Mind needed to hone in his awesome social synth prowess was to be locked in a room with Richard Pinhas for a year on a diet of nothing but snake burritos-but again-no one listens to advice, especially a homeboy. Psychotic drugs, cheap beer, shorties, the Roach, assholes, hung over at work... yesss, heroes to the High Life."

Beggar Master
Label:
HANSON RECORDS
Format:
CD
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
HN 132CD
CD issue of first full-length LP by ex-Wolf Eyes member Aaron Dilloway. Recorded in Kirtipur, Nepal, March 2005. Originally released on LP limited to 300 copies. Tape manipulations, feedback, crude field recordings, & Nepali dirt.
"Side 'Beggar Master' is like a video game of a brick wall chasing a 300 pound wobble legged mosquito. High feedback intercepted by sliding horizontal pile of bricks. Beating thud heart with some open holes in the side corresponding to sludge lake bug liberation. Pumping muscle disorders team up with mud and dirt bubble bath to make larvae spawn engine. Whir and blur background mechanical swamp. The end of the 'Beggar' side cuts off immediately just as you think the whole mess of introduced sound is going to rise up and start knocking down buildings. You can hear the displaced air of the kong leg lifting and zip! The 'Prayer Flush' side starts off as a homage to prehistoric Raptors vs. the Soccer Thugs of Britain. Whistles, bites on the ass, distorted knee scrapes highlight various parts of the first few mins of screaming melee. This fades into some drawn out electro fry. The sound that no living being can stand up to: deep long forked tongue death. Hum of the end. Then the New Blockaders on the Thalid-O-Kid interrupt to make a canal of tumbling pile of canned garbage flowing into a heightened snow storm of singing trident lava-needled record players. Welcome here all trashit, submit your excessive horrible souls to our torture disparagement! If you listen close enough you might be able to hear the behemoth garbage truck rolling up everything into a black hole rear compartment. Background Killoway with his garbage can lid crook pointing the way into vortex nothing. Canned fuzz drops dead after the tidal bleach hand eliminates all movement. If you've heard it all from the Christians how scary the sounds of hell will be, you can hear from Killoway's field recording how your garbage is being treated once it's putrid soul is released. Definitely a mood soundtrack for oblivionic conoise-suers with plans to ride the flume to hell."

Now available on CD! "For the first half of 2005, I lived with my wife Erika in Kirtipur, Nepal. During our days, while she was studying at the Kathmandu Association For The Deaf, I was roaming the streets and villages of the Kathmandu Valley in search of sounds and music. While kickin' round the tourist district of Thamel picking up cassettes, I met a family of Snake Charmers from Haryana, India. An old man probably in his 70s or 80s, his 2 grandsons, and one of the grandson's sons. They asked if I wanted to see a show....I said Hell YES!! They gave me a show...a KILLER show... we're talkin' 3 fuckin' king cobras dancing at once, while a giant boa chilled at the side and few other random lil' snake dudes are wigglin' around here and there. I became obsessed. I had met my new best friends... Though the kind of best friends you have to pay to hang out with. They were hustlers, yes.. But that's their job... The money was well worth the shows. I spent about 3-4 days a week for the next 2 months, recording their music and their snake shows on mini-disc and videotape. I drank a lot of chiyaa with them, smoked a lot of cigarettes and bidis. They taught me how to make reeds out of bamboo, and I traded them some clothes for a snake charming horn. They call them Beens, they are also known as Pungis. These guys were the best. At the end of April they left Kathmandu, heading to Pokhara, after that it was time for them to head back home with their earnings. Man...I missed them. This is the best of the best of the recordings I made of them. There are some classic Bollywood tracks, a Nepali folk song, and a 19- minute drone journey into the head of the King Cobra. The recordings were done in stereo. A been on the left, a been on the right. A premtal (stringed percussion instrument) on the left, a premtal on the right. The stereo recording of the charmers sway creates a very disorienting stereo tremolo effect. It's almost as if you are the snake! These tracks were recorded in an alley. There is the occasional rumble of a car passing by, and the low murmur of the locals checkin' out the white kid with the fancy gadget hangin' with the snake dudes. So here it is...

"'There are a lot of mugz you don't wanna know,: VD doctors, the Grim Reaper, the inside of a Fed Ex body bag, ex-mates, cops, silence, dentists, republicans, country music stars...the list goes on and on. Then there are mugz you just want to get some sunshine from -- you know who they are, just plain rad mugz, stokerz, and I gotta say, the Michigan Crew has Sick Llama'z back. Heath aka Juice aka Fag Heath aka Morellama is just a ball of huge eyeballing goodness... how can you be mad at him? We used to have heavy skate shred sessions with the goofball and he would destroy the streetz, and still be smiling at the end, never breaking a sweat. You want this dude on your team. And you want the soundtrack to your boiling brain to be his Born Again to Die. Its got this amazing kinda arms-up-in-air-i-give-up-what-is-this-godamnn-sound style beaming through it. Heath man....dude ain't really gonna give any clues back....can't count how many timez the crew has cornered the mug and been like: 'Yo man....what the hell is going on inside 'Live Birth?' Did you just record cars under an overpass and slow it down?' And repeat over the coarse of 120+ Fag Tapes, Heath's label aka the Pyramids of Michigan. He never has properly answered a sound question, we all have our clues/ideas. Probably wrong. Sick Llama holds the rotten essence of Midwest Basement Mystery Mind Sound inside the marrow of his weird skull, right behind the strawberry blond tuffs, unblinking bug eyes, and scandi-molded mildew skin.
Born Again to Die
is his debut, and any signs of progression are tossed out the windows of Ham Studios. I mean it's electronics, tape hiss, and ....?????? Heath really doesn't get any better or more refined, just....... stranger and more strange. My man Connelly says every Fag Tape has at least a 30% 'hands off' factor, meaning, seems like Llama has a nice mutant groove going on and then just jets for 10min, leaving the machine motionless. If you can tell what the hell is going on inside these grooves...bottle it and sell it, it would be ideal to have on tap.......it could be like taking a skinny dip inside the caverns of a black pool filled to the brim with soul-frying electricity waves.
Born Again To Die
: maybe our kid's rat kids will comprehend. Then maybe they can attempt to decode this funky pandemonium.' --John Olson (Wolf Eyes, Boy Dept. Boyz), May 2007. Originally released on cassette in 2004 on American Tapes. This is the first full length LP and one of the first recordings ever from Sick Llama. Limited to 500 copies. Housed in a slick orange and blue silkscreened cardstock jacket featuring the usual Hanson outer 'droll flaps'."

"Dilloway & Yeh recorded live to 4-track cassette in the summer 2006 in Ann Arbor, MI. Yeh on violin, Dilloway on tape loops of Yeh's violin. Originally released on LP, this digipak CD version includes a bonus track collage of the 3 tracks from the duo's out-of-print
False Speech

The Squid
has a heavy Takehisa Kosugi/Taj Mahal Travellers feel, with a headier, more expansive psychedelic brainwave style than is usually associated with Dilloway. Yeh's violin flutters on phased waves of F/X while Dilloway lets off tiny looped depth-charges, exploding Yeh's elegiac drones with chattering, circular vocals, unidentifiable noise scree and long corridors of breath." --David Keenan, Volcanic Tongue

"Hanson Records is proud to present the first LP from The Haters,
In The Shade Of Fire
, reissued for the first time on the CD format and for the first time in its original entirety. Originally released on LP by Silent Records in 1986, this digipak CD edition has been remastered by Warn Defever from the original master reels, and includes the full complete album as two of the tracks had to be shortened to fit on the original LP issue.
'Back during my Bachelor of Fine Arts, one of my fellow students was a woman who was eventually obsessed with the idea, systems, and eventual remnants of 'process'. One of her key pieces involved hundreds of raw eggs which she carefully emptied, cracked open, and systematically peeled the delicate membranes from inside of the eggs. She carefully laid out the hundreds of membranes as they assembled in a giant area to the side of the studio. I swear that she didn't even have some grandiose idea for the membranes as the peeling and assemblage system(s) evolved into something that was simply beyond any eventuality and initial idea for the piling skins of the eviscerated eggs. The deconstruction and conception behind the act of pulling apart the eggs into a vast collection of grimy, translucent membrane piles suggested something so much more than even a final constructed piece. Watching her as she realized that the true crux behind the piece was the process alone was astounding as the membranes were laid to rest to represent an almost sudden and powerful eventuality that acted as a piled testament to 'process'. The harsh sound works of The Haters over artist GX Jupitter-Larsen's long and established career also powerfully bring to mind the idea of process. Most of The Haters' works are ideologies behind something being destroyed or manipulated; the amplified and sometimes distorted sounds of the processes representing a document that exemplifies the acts carried out upon the objects, machines, or otherwise. The act of recording the processes alone is evidence of an eventuality (to possibly be edited further) in the form of a possible final piece of vinyl, cassette, or CD, but the tendencies of The Haters' material also intend the listener to experience the process of the audio lines as they were primarily constructed in the recording area. There is no doubt that GX appreciates the totemic quality of his personal objects' physical aftermath, that is sometimes documented with video or photographs, but the powerful beauty of a The Haters audio piece is the experience for the listener that acts ALSO as a final document of sound that represent clearly the certain idea and sometimes violent act. The Haters' celebrated early work
In the Shade of Fire
acts a document collection for the listener that also reflects The Haters strong textural aesthetic through object manipulation and recording that defines GX's place in the world of 'harsh noise'. Listening your way through the material is a studied and defined testament to different representational fragments of heavy sound and source manipulation. The tracks 'Glsam' and 'Diti' are explosive introductory and side concluding / framing pieces that highlight and pronounce the breaking and crashing down of material, all gelled with bass driven strikes whose trails deteriorate into hints of cascading dirty and dark 'Americanoise' distortion. 'Bebas' powers through a heavier dynamic with conscious falling apart of source material, but in abstracted waves that suggest the material being rebuilt just to simply fall and crash apart again with a sense of powerful futility. 'Thuch' enhances the textural elements of the explosions and crashing as the sharpness of the strikes are slightly 'rounded' at the edges to expose an almost 'gurgling' texture that moves and slaps with vicious perplexity. 'Taisic' represents a very early 'Americanoise' study of hiss manipulation that is accented with minimalist scraping that bring to mind the force of process on top of the white noise line. 'Cassas' is the album's meditated example of sharp shot-driven violence; articulated and seemingly layered for optimum cutting and breaking which bring forth sound dynamism from very physical deterioration. 'Fire 5' is an amazing example of a highly textural 'wall' of sound that, to the contemporary fan of gritty and dirty crunch waves, is a primary early example of powerful crackle lines that focus on the inner dynamism of the sound itself. All of the material discussed above is made up of elements of physicality and process, but the tracks 'Iny 1' and 'Iny 2' act, for the listener, as the 'notes' for the ideology of process and falling apart as they act as a more minimal, subtle, and exacting study of the scraping, scuffing, and hands on work of the artist as he manipulates the deteriorating materials. In essence, 'Iny 2' is an amazing concluding track that reminds the listener of the core focus and ideology behind The Haters' exemplification of grating sound via concept driven manipulation of tangible sources, the process, the aftermath, and the eventual recording that reflects all of the above sound qualities.'

$12.00
Catalog #:
HN 207CD
"Digipak CD reissue of my
Chain Shot
LP which was originally released on LP by Throne Heap. Contains a 28-minute bonus track." -- Aaron Dilloway.
"With only tape loops, metal, and horns (and sometimes, it seems, metal on horns) the two side long pieces, 'Chain Shot' and 'Execution Dock' respectively, explore the ugly underbelly of noise before just scraping right through and aiming for the insides. In a genre that has quickly turned into a broad and often inaccurate description of a certain breed of every-man experimental music, Dilloway sticks to the old-fashioned definition of noise, doing battle with the materials in front of him as he continues the construction of his impressive body of work. Dilloway, a former member of noise-titans Wolf Eyes, has recently been releasing solo work that explores much more abstract and thoughtful terrain than his previous group's onslaughts. 'Chain Shot' is more a sound collage than anything, and while it is a heaping glob of muddled debris, it is also a highly controlled one. Looping samples on top of samples, Dilloway builds a slowly encroaching beast before slowly disintegrating it, bone by bone. This is some highly textural and immediately emotive soundscape work. 'Execution Dock' begins with a repeating loop of what sounds like the beginning and the end syllables of some nut's conversation with a lamppost. In the distance sounds a pained song of sorts, like a rodent's death cry, or maybe its birth one. I'm guessing maybe this is the horn, though it would be tough to be certain about much of anything here. Delayed creaks and groans float in and around as the vocal sample dissipates, leaving you sloshing through the mud puddle only to realize that its a tar pit the size of La Brea."

"CD reissue of debut vinyl from California sound artist Tom Darksmith. Crude musique concrète made using tapes, voice, records, radio, guitar, drums, objects, domestic and field recordings. Assembled on cassette four track 2008-2009. A disturbing collection of sounds...lots of sounds...unknown sounds...I have no clue what is going on on this record....Tom says there is guitar, drums, etc on this...but I don't hear them...what I hear is: The sound of my neighbor weedwacking, the sound of being zipped into a suitcase then shipped via train, ghost voices roaming in sewers, the sound of riding in a helicopter with mid-grade noise reduction earmuffs on, a shitty metal door being locked on a crew of mumbling idiots...and every now and again...a garbage disposal....this is what I hear....no clue what you will hear. A total mystery of perfectly paced organization of dirt sound...not harsh...not mellow...just dirty, weird, and confusing...and to quote the sleevenotes of the first few Queen LPs....'No Synthesizers!'. Night before I'm about to move...INSANE SNOWSTORM HITS....(If I remember correctly it was the same one that TOTALED AND STRANDED THE HAIR POLICE!)...drunk and missing my wife and kid who had left for Michigan a week earlier, I decided to camp out over at Turman's for a few days...On my insane drive a whopping 3 blocks away... my truck breaks down... From short bursts to long-form, hallucinatory epics, it's a sprawling collection that highlights every facet of Dilloway's considerable arsenal. One of the album's two side-long attacks, 'Look Over Your Shoulder' is a lurid, subtly shifting piece with disembodied vocals and a barrage of extra-terrestrial tones that slithers into your cerebral cortex atop a funeral rhythm
