On Tevo Howard's first CD release, Hour House Is Your Rush marries his two EP releases for HHYR: Crystal Republic from 2010 and Pandora's Box. Next to that, two more tracks are added, "Move" from 2009 as well as "I Won't Lay Back," from Rick Poppa Howard's s/t EP of the same year. This makes a comprehensive compilation showing some of the best output from his recent catalog. Though his tracks are heavily inspired by the early days, his productions sound very crisp and "today." The Crystal Republic tracks show his emotional and raw warehouse side, whereas on the Pandora's Box tracks, Tevo experiments with different rhythms and textures, which results in a varied set of tracks, from classic Chicago acid house to more Italo leanings. Tevo's music truly takes us back to the original vibe of Chicago house music, without getting too dusty.

This unlikely Bulgarian/UK duo churn out an old skool Chicago monster that harkens the rawest Mr. Fingers productions from the late '80s. Your body will be jacking when you first hear it. Comes as a vocal and dub instrumental. The B-side sees a solo outing by KiNK, and it sounds like going back in time 20 years. This is raw and dirty house music.

Snuff Crew sign up for the third release on Hour House Is Your Rush. Again in best tradition they come up with two old skool-inspired Chicago house tracks. This early '90s track is very reminiscent of the true Chicago house sound -- raw and sweaty! This is now available in a special limited edition. Mark Grusane and Mike Cole are better known as the owners of Mr. Peabody's Records (store) in Chicago. This track was taken from the Primitive House Trax CD they put out in small numbers, featuring a vocal version and an instrumental version.

This time, the talented Tevo Howard (of Beautiful Granville Records fame) debuts on the label with two versions of a classic sounding track, "Move" -- the original mix and an even rawer acid mix. Traxx and Beau Wanzer team up for another Mutant Beat Dance release. Together they have produced arguably "the best '80s Chicago house record not made in the 80s." The Mutants call it "jakbeat," inspired by the early days of house music. "Let Me Go" is as intense and rhythmically-inclined as they come. Naughty Wood's sparse vocals cry desperation, almost nearing insanity, which makes up for a pressure cooker-like warehouse anthem. "Rottonfunk" is another intense workout which has a killer groove.
