Title: The Toiling of Idle Hands
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $16.00
Catalog #: IMM 002CD
"LA's mystery man, Vienna-born techno producer -- John Tejada -- is a premier musical innovator. Versed in piano, guitar, and drums, the son of a soprano singer and musical conductor, Tejada transcends the easy limitations of genre and style. John has released music on such esteemed and seminal electronic music labels as A13, R & S, Plug Research, Seventh City, and Playhouse. The Toiling of Idle Hands sets Tejada upon the legacy left by Detroit techno pioneers Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, and Juan Atkins. The album is so classic, yet futuristic, one would swear it was an unreleased gem unearthed in the vaults of KMS of Transmat." Limited stock.

Artist: BOND, JENS
Title: The Sand Puppy EP
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: IMM 030EP
"The German native is already a household name on the international scene with his releases on quality labels Pokerflat, Sender and Highgrade. His 'heavy bass' trademark rolls through three strong cuts on his debut Immigrant EP, whilst Mobilee's leading lady Anja Schneider and new kid on the block, Michigan-based Skoozbot (Minus) deliver top quality remixes. Mr. Bond likes his music shaken and very much stirred! A1 - 'Hit You.' Clever drum programming and the thick bass line resonates through this track and the use of sparse metallic synth pads and cleverly placed vocal snippets add to its bumpin' groove. After a short break featuring sharp, grinding synth, the tracks steps up its intensity to make it a dance floor smasher."

Artist: MONOBLOCK
Title: La Otra Cara Del Enano Remixes
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: IMM 032EP
"Following the massive 'Squeeks and Kaoss' EP by Active Sense the pressure was on to keep the bar high! Next up on Immigrant Records we present Monoblock, the first of our digital artists to make their way onto vinyl. Their debut Immigrant EP was so well received we decided to create a remix EP for vinyl. The crazy garden dwarf is back, this time with his mutated friends!! A1 - 'Galgo' (Monoblock Edit), The boys rework their original into a throbbing techno groove using thick rolling bass and crunchy percussion. Add some of Monoblock's signature synth melody as a finishing touch and we have yet another masterpiece from her Uruguayan duo. A2 - 'Lugomi' (Tim Xavier's Bye Bye Brooklyn Remix) The Manmade Masterer himself steps up to the helm fresh from remixing the massive 'R U OK?' on Minus. Tim slows the tempo down to deliver a tight, dark and hypnotic remix... one for the after hours. B1 - 'El Baile Del Enano Jardín' (Alexi Delano & Xpansul Remix) Alexi and Santi retain the energy of the original version in their take on arguably the strongest track from the original EP. Punchy drum programming, heavy bass and creative editing that we've come to expect from two masters of the scene are in full earshot. The duo pull no punches delivering a mix that is guaranteed to tear up dance floors near you soon! B2 - 'Enanoide' (Robin Porter's Knee Innit Mix) Immigrant label owner dives deeper than the others with his rework of 'Enanoide,' flipping it's rough and tough beats into a minimal but warm groovy house number."

Artist: DEE JAY COCOE
Title: Webale EP
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.50
Catalog #: IMM 033EP
"The versatile Dee Jay Cocoe has been performing in the Californian music scene for over a decade through his Abstract Workshop hip-hop collective, performing beside megastars The Black Eyed Peas, and alongside DJs such as Mark Farina, Little Louie Vega and Joe Claussell. Always conscious and ever soulful, Cocoe has finally graced Immigrant with one of his deepest house trax to date. So genuine the track, Jay Haze and Cadenza's Alejandro Vivanco were chomping at the bit to remix it. Together with Long Beach vocalist Mukwenda, this EP blends house and techno genres, appeasing both dancefloor and listening sensibilities. A1 - 'Webale' (Fuckpony Remix) -- Jay Haze has been unstoppable of late and it's under his Fuckpony alias that we asked him to transform Cocoe's loose rhythms and Mukwenda's African chants into a dancefloor smasher. The deservedly long mix delivers a hypnotic and tribal groove of bass, drums and synths that mutate, squelch and reverberate throughout the mix. Haze makes great use of the vocals, utilizing them frequently to cut through the mix, with tripped-out delays and creative editing. B1 - 'Webale (Alejandro Vivanco Remix)' -- the Cadenza cohort and Chilean native balances out the EP with a tripped-out tribal groover. Vivanco's Latin roots are at work in this remix, delivering a peak time mix within a framework of organic drums and hypnotic atmospherics."

Artist: Z@P
Title: Yo Por Bo EP
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: IMM 036EP
"A1 -- 'Pocho en Armonia' (Original Mix). We begin the EP with a subterranean floor-filler of a track -- groove packed and with plenty of atmosphere, moments of suspense and caverns of space, 'Pocho en Armonia' adds depth to any set. A solid bass line sits under Z@P's trademark rolling drum patterns, building the track layer upon layer, dropping in and out of gyratory samples, analog stabs and contrasting liquid electronica. Changeable until its resolution, you'd be wrong to underestimate its impact. A2 -- 'Taiko Drums' (Original Mix). Drums, drums and yet more drums -- introducing that trademark rhythmic patterning from the offset, this track is another fine example of set-building depth and atmosphere. Less intimidating than its predecessor, samples as eerie as they are cheeky compliment a simple bouncing bass line, dripping melody and muffled beats; Z@P the ringleader gathers us all to his cause, hatches a cunning plan and launches into a stopping, starting delight of an escapade. B1 -- 'Pocho en Armonia' (A-inc Remix). A-inc's offing reconstructs the original with a solid and more overtly persistent bass line and edgier samples; simple and effective use of arrangement keeps the track interesting by dropping sounds in and out of the mix -- tweaking, groaning, whirring and clicking, 'Pocho en Armonia''s new incarnation is both cantankerous and mischievous. Like back-and-forth banter, this track is a joy to listen to for its curious assortment of characters as well as an inherent quirkiness."

Artist: VENEGAS, FELIPE
Title: Pa Bailar Y Pa Gozar EP
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: IMM 037EP
"Felipe Venegas' debut EP comes to you courtesy of Immigrant Records, from Santiago, Chile -- it's loud, it's Latino, and it's certainly not holding back. Felipe studied classical music traditions some years back and we're awfully glad he did. Since his scholarly days, he has ventured into more electronic realms, retaining a rhythmic, percussive feel that we just love. His accomplished live set has found its way onto Chilean line-ups alongside the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Tania Vulcano -- expect to see more of this burgeoning talent in the months to come. Felipe's original is reworked by Tuning Spork's Michel Ho. A1 - 'Pa Bailar y Pa Gozar' (Original Mix), or 'Dance and Enjoy' in English. This track means business from the off -- a solemn, thumping beat is put upon by ominously resonant chords and encroaching electronic stabs. Building layer upon layer, it finds itself suddenly building to a chunky, jacking crescendo marked with distorted vocals, celebratory claps and various drum sounds -- the carnival is in town and here to stay, it seems, for the track doesn't give up. Once it has built to its peak, it holds onto the moment right to its conclusion -- perfect peak-time mayhem. A2 - 'Pa Bailar y Pa Gozar' (Michel Ho Remix). Ho dons his carnival gear to lead the mix around a corner and into slightly more subtle territories, adding warmth and a shuffling, chugging rhythm punctuated with stacks of well-placed percussion sounds, jarring electronic melody and even more Chilean vocal action."

Artist: MR. STATIK
Title: Feelarmonics EP
Label: IMMIGRANT (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: IMM 038EP
"This month Immigrant brings you a startling EP-- the Feelarmonics EP from Mr. Statik. Hailing from Athens, Greece, he's notched up some exciting work for the likes of Ware, Karloff, Stock5 and Balkon, and is now settling in at the Immigrant house. These extremely sophisticated and more than a little quirky tracks are fittingly remixed and reworked by Kreon and Lemos (Cecille, Resopal, Below), both adding new dimensions of seismic proportions. Here's a release that really can't be ignored. A1. 'A Flock of Guitars (feat. BODJ)': Deep, dub and slightly ominous, this opening track distorts all the harmony of a day in the country. Mocking vocal snippets, organic off beat drum patterns and quirky ass arrangement scare the hell out of a flock of who-knows-what, whilst a funky, grooving baseline and an almost satirical guitar sample stops the track from becoming too dark. Building to a multi-layered treat of a climax, this track will have great impact."
