Title: Live Recorded At Rock Werchter
Label: LEKTROLUV (BELGIUM)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: LL 002CD
Belgian DJ Dr. Lektroluv is best known for his highly-acclaimed Lektroluv series electro compilations. This is his second release recorded live in an open-air party setting, following 2006's Live Recorded At Extrema Outdoor 2006. This time, Dr. Lektroluv's scorching set was recorded during Rock Werchter, a four-day Belgian festival that has been in existence since 1974 and recently received the Arthur Award for best festival in the world for the third time during the International Live Music Conference. This year performers included the Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers, Björk, Faithless, Air, LCD Soundsystem, !!! and Klaxons. Dr. Lektroluv was the only DJ on this year's Rock Werchter line-up, closing the second stage right after the Beastie Boys, smashing the place into pieces with one of his famously tight electro house sets. Dr. Lektroluv places you in the center of electro fun with tracks from Tiga, Mason, LFO and The Subs, while chart-toppers like The Klaxons and Feist give it a current indie/electro crossover feel. Once again, we get a selection that pitches today's current players with some brilliant old school classics. The good Doctor certainly knows how to rock the crowd as you can hear them screaming for more when he lays down some brand new electro cuts from today's finest electronic craftsmen: Spektrum, whose "Kinda New" track was a killer and has just been updated by Dirty South. Also listen out for Claude VonStroke's re-working of the Mighty Dub Katz's "Magic Carpet Ride," which is sure to be a floor-filler. Fusing angular rhythms, sleazy vocals, old and new, he provides yet another vibrant selection for electro lovers everywhere. Other artists include: Acid Jacks, Shiny Toy Guns, Radar, Kavinsky, Teenage Bad Girls, Polysics, Federico Franchi, Moby, Trentemøller, Boys Noize, Tocadisco, Tomboy, Sebastian, MSTRKRFT and Soulwax.

Title: Subculture
Label: LEKTROLUV (BELGIUM)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: LL 005CD
Subculture is the debut album from Belgium electronic upstarts The Subs. With a name like The Subs, you could be forgiven for thinking this three-piece is a classic punk band. Well, they are rambunctious and do tear up the rule book. These beat mavericks turned the dancefloor gold in 2008 with Kiss My Trance, a punk-trance-juggernaut of a hit single which landed in the top 20 national singles chart in Belgium and their profile has just grown and grown. The Subs are Jeroen De Pessemier aka Papillon (singer/producer), Wiebe Loccufier aka Tonic and Stefan Bracke aka L'entrepreneur. Over the last year, The Subs have enthralled audiences with a live show comprising of a unique set up; 3 men with a laboratory of decks, synths, effects and a microphone. They do not hide behind laptops, and with their raving frontman, The Subs take the sweaty punk-trash essence to the dance stage. The Subs are not your average "let's mess around with some analog machines" band. They fought with the machines until a consistent album, a true body of work, came about. Papillon being the songwriter-half (brought up on landmark '90s dance-albums from the likes of Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers and Underworld) and Tonic being the DJ/songwriter with a passion for brand new underground releases and innovative sounds, The Subs have made an album with songs lurking underneath the sounds. Subculture is a dance album that you can listen to anywhere: in your car, in your living room, in your bedroom. The mood is intense and brooding. Featuring the singles "Fuck That Shit," "Papillon" and the massive "Kiss My Trance," it's a downright dirty stunner with gripping, euphoric peaks and melancholy-riddled melodic moments. That's how we like our punk.

Title: I Love Techno 2009
Label: LEKTROLUV (BELGIUM)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: LL 006CD
Following Boys Noize's turn on 2008's I Love Techno mix, I Love Techno 2009 features the talents and tastes of insanely-hot Italian DJ duo, Crookers. The hot fuss surrounding Crookers is about to reach fever pitch. Already the hippest act in dance circles, they will soon unleash their debut album on the world and things are expected to go mad for the two men from Milan. Their remix of Kid Cudi's "Day 'N' Nite" reached number two in the UK and is now riding high on the U.S. airplay charts. Their already huge body of work has attracted the attention of big names such as Kanye West and Will. I. Am who have become fans and collaborators. Dolce & Gabbana recently used their U2 "Get Your Boots On" remix for the catwalk and their MySpace page is getting more traffic than Coldplay's. Crookers started in 2003 when DJs Phra and Bot met and paired up over a shared love of hip-hop, house and the emerging skewed, bass-heavy sounds pioneered by Switch in the UK and Diplo in the States, and also of quality house like Moodymann and Theo Parrish. It's from these combined influences that Crookers derive their hybrid sound. Their first release End 2 End, was released in 2006, but it was with the Knobbers EP, for their current label Southern Fried, when they really made an impact. There's footage on YouTube of their appearance at I Love Techno in 2008, with 10,000 people singing the riff to "Knobbers." Crookers usher in 2009's I Love Techno at the Flanders Expo in Ghent with an incredible mix of tracks by Zomby, Harvard Bass, Fever Ray, Osborne, Untold, Jahcoozi, Oliver $, Photek, Jesse Rose, Nadastrom, Brodinski & Mumdance, Nic Sarno, Metronomy, Micachu, Jack Beats, Ku-Bo, Noob & Brodinski, Deepgroove, Emvee, Rustie, Zinc, and Skream.

Title: Live At Lowlands
Label: LEKTROLUV (BELGIUM)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: LL 007CD
The extremely popular green-masked Dr. Lektroluv offers you a recording of his set at Lowlands on August 22nd, 2010. As usual, you can expect the fattest electro cuts from the hottest names around, including a whole bunch of exclusive and unreleased tracks. Hailing from the vast flatlands of Belgium, the green, half-human bespectacled pioneer is an enigma. Not much is known about this mysterious, 6ft. tall being, other than an ability to blend and create a potent, intoxicating brew of big room sounds, hard 4-4 beats and jacking, twitching electro that sends high-voltage charges through his subjects. Dr. Lektroluv has released no less than ten mix compilations since 2002, showcasing his crazy, sonic experiments deep from his lab in Ghent. His second compilation (the first of seven studio-mixed chapters), The Preskriptions of Dr. Lektroluv set a benchmark for modern electro compilations, while the upfront tracklisting managed to neatly showcase the burgeoning modern electro and jacking house scenes, featuring tracks from the likes of Drexciya to Memory Boy, Hong Kong Counterfeit, and beyond. Over the last few years, as the worlds of electro and house collided further, many modern pioneers from Switch to Herve have been inspired by the green man's twisted, demented presents to the world. After releasing more compilations on 541 records, he released the first compilation on his own Lektroluv records imprint, showcasing groundbreaking and legendary live sets at festival powerhouses Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Outdoor Extrema. The Dr.'s sound has fast infected the minds of clubbers everywhere, with a unique stamp that selects the cream of the crop from today's electro scene, galvanized with hard-to-find classics. Artists include: Etienne De Crécy, The Subs, Shinichi Osawa, Paul Chambers, Tai (feat. Steve Aoki), Gtronic, Mumbai Science, Etienne De Crécy (feat. Title: Decontrol
Label: LEKTROLUV (BELGIUM)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: LL 009CD
Since their eponymous debut album Subculture (LL 005CD) landed at the dusk of 2008, Belgium's The Subs have played more than 160 shows, travelled to 14 countries, used 12 different airline companies, 2 tour buses and 1 private jet. Between the three of them, they've mailed about 250 post cards and drank about 80 bottles of vodka. On the road, they've lost 5 iPhone adapters and 6 pairs of earplugs. 480 t-shirts were sold and they've counted at least 12 stage invasions and 13 scuffles with venue security. The band remembers 10 speeding tickets and were questioned by the police at least 3 times. They've made 6 music videos, launched 1 blog and recorded 3 videocasts. About half of the past 730 days they've spent inside a studio, 45 demos were made and 21 different versions of new artwork got rejected. About 28 hours were spent discussing the definitive tracklist, but it's here -- the second album by The Subs: Decontrol. A lot has happened to the crew since their electro-rave-punk-powered train started rolling: they also released their acclaimed Vomit In Style EP, featuring stellar remixes from Mixhell, Don Rimini and Les Petits Pilous. Their smash hit "The Pope Of Dope" is absent on this album, but he gave his blessing to the too cool-for-old school house cut "Don't Stop," the hyperactive rave jam that is "The Hype," the hard-hitting techno beats of "The Visible Man" and the French movie soundtrack-inspired "Hannibal (And The Battle Of Zama)." There's even some profound philosophies hidden inside Decontrol -- the universally-appealing club anthem "The Face Of The Planet," for instance, or "Lemonade." Or, as Papillon puts it, "Decontrol is much less a 'fuck you' album than Subculture, and more an 'I'd like to fuck you' album." The Subs are: Jeroen De Pessemier aka Papillon, Wiebe Loccufier aka DJ Tonic and Luca Di Ferdinando aka Highbloo.

While "Lotus" strikes with a sleazy yet uplifting bass line, "Panas" shines with its enchanting melodic hook. Still, both tracks share the typical Mumbai Science electro synths and techno feel. Think rolling drums, trippy melodies and a whole lotta sunshine.
