"'Reichenbach' is a concisely crafted peaktime track. Its metallic, urgent drive builds up a lot of tension leading up to an inevitable, massive climax. This definitely is excessive maximal techno. Its sheer precision and power will leave dancefloors breathless. In direct comparison, young producer Andre Gansebohm alias Ndru's track is more relaxed. With a duration of more than 11 minutes, it is not only the longest track ever released by Liebe*Detail so far, but it is also the one with the strongest narrative concept beyond the usual tales of the dancefloor. Ndru develops the story of a pony named Clipklop working as a cashier in a supermarket. Most of the track's sounds consist of field recordings, Ndru actually collected in supermarkets. Stylistically, the track sticks to minimal as well as clicks'n'cuts traditions, but Ndru manages to balance the genres' artificiality by adding warm, low key harmonies."

"Denis Karimani -- 'Incubatio': Although Hamburg's Denis Karimani has already released an EP for Dial under his real name, he might best be known under his alias Remute (Areal/Trapez/Weave). With 'Incubatio' Karimani delivers a dark, swinging track. Developing it from a rolling groove in a very intuitive and spontaneous way, it clearly shows the experience Denis gained from uncountable live sets. Lee Jones -- 'Wax Off': Lee Jones might not exactly be a newcomer, but his debut for Liebe*Detail is a premiere anyway. "You might have come across Patrik Skoog aka Agaric lately through his coloured We Are 10" series, where he fuses classic techno qualities with contemporary minimal aesthetics, setting alight dancefloors worldwide. 'Virke,' his contribution for Liebe*Detail, is not as much in love with distortion as his We Are releases, but presents itself clipped and precise, tidy and powerful. Agaric's tendencies towards dark and dense atmospheres stay perfectly intact, though. With a break full of dreamy harmonies and huge reverbs, he provides us with a short moment of relief and thus blends in perfectly into Liebe*Detail's profile. In Hamburg everything is always just around the next corner. Thus, it's been just a matter of time that Lawrence found his way to Liebe*Detail. With his track 'Place To Be' he lives up to his reputation as the king of understatement once again. With a keen sense for the right balance, Lawrence speckles the night sky with faintly glistening stars. Even if ingredients like a thousand shades of grey and the immanent Detroit influence stay the same, you never heard Lawrence as fleet-footed, yet determined, as on 'Place To Be.' This track is an understated, but overwhelming anthem!"

"Since several years, Andre Crom is known as resident DJ of Düsseldorf's Harpune club and the monthly clubnight 'Heimatmelodie' at Essen's Hotel Shanghai. The first result of his cooperation with Alex Krüger (aka Tigerskin, aka Dub Taylor aka producer of Phonique) is an instant peaktime slammer. That the guys know very exactly what drives a dancefloor is obvious after just a few seconds: the beats and bleeps are crisp and clear. And when the mad flange-sounds set in, dancefloor madness is guaranteed. That's also the opinion of DJs like Magda, Troy Pierce, Jay Haze, Kiki or Jesse Rose. The journey is the reward -- that's something Munich based producer Jichael Mackson seems to have had in mind while producing 'Fluff in my Bellybutton.' "Matthias Meyer'S track 'Reichenbach' is the label's bestseller so far and it seems as if his new one, 'Voltage' is seamlessly tying in with this success. Compared to the techno fuelled 'Reichenbach,' 'Voltage' is on a slightly different, yet highly energetic tip, featuring trancey pop harmonies which meet Matthias' refined production skills. It all culminates in a goose bump inducing breakdown, abashing the Border Community camp. This is an anthem, nothing less! Liebe Detail is welcoming yet another producer to its family. Berlin-based Sven Weisemann is adding a musical flavor to the label's pie, which hasn't been featured here in such a pure form before: deep house. He has been releasing on Mojuba and Styrax so far; two German labels tastily purveying Detroit's deep and spiritual heritage. Although Weisemann's sonic inventory consists of quite traditional and naturalistic sounds, he quickly has managed to develop an unmistakable style, which relies on creating contemplative atmospheres, as well as producing breezy, yet gripping arrangements, taking all the time in the world to lure the dancefloor into a hypnotic haze."

"Aland Byallo is a busy activist from San Francisco. Together with people like John Tejada, Justin Maxwell, Claude Von Stroke and the excellent Dirtybird label, he is responsible for providing an alternative to the tribal sounds of the West Coast. Alland clearly had a look over the big pond for inspiration and thus it is no wonder his track 'Buckets' seamlessly blends in with what is rocking German and European dancefloors. With two releases on Gumption and Leftroom, Ed Davenport managed to make huge waves in the minimal community. The young London-based producer quickly made himself a name for, on the one hand, being quite versatile in both producing very sparse, stripped down tunes as well as producing more opulent, emotional stuff. On the other hand, he really knows a lot about arranging. Ed clearly is a long distance runner with his tracks clocking in at 10 minutes and longer. He uses the time he is taking to full capacity, yet sticks to a strict economy of sounds. His diverse talents interlock effortlessly on his contribution for Liebe Detail. There are his clear ideas of sound, his well timed, nonchalantly paced arrangement as well as a notion of melancholic electronica one has been missing in dance music since the early tracks of someone like Luciano."

"According to their policy of promoting fresh talent, Liebe Detail feature 20 year-old Italian Angelo Battilani from Ravenna on the flipside. His tack here is not as empty as the track title suggests, although you can certainly label it 'minimal,' in which 'Empty' is not referring to the genre so much in a deranged afterhour sense. It rather focuses on highly dynamic beats, which slightly shift during the course of nine-and-a-half minutes. Using only a few, precisely set elements, Battilani turns this one into a rocking tool that, despite its straightforwardness, manages to roll flexibly. After Phillip Sollmann aka Efdemin has finished his studies at the Institute For Computer music in Vienna, he moved to Berlin, where he has found a lot of opportunities to engage himself intensively with techno and house again. Where Efdemin's earlier production work was rather focused on slow, abstract house in the vein of Theo Parrish, he has now turned to a more functional approach without losing his special sense for deepness. Efdemin's sound design has become a lot more unobscured and differentiated. And he knows how to adjust old school influences to contemporary listening habits, which makes 'Lohn & Brot' the sublime hit one could only expect from Efdemin."

"LB stands for Lars Behrenroth, a house producer who relocated from Hamburg to Los Angeles a few years ago. While still in Germany, Behrenroth was busy producing mainly deep house for labels such as Trax of Interest or Foreplay. But he might have been even more known for his radio activism in order to spread the house gospel on many different platforms and stations. 'Organism,' his debut for Liebe*Detail, can definitely be classified as house, but not in that jazzy, musical kind of way. It rather lingers at the crossroads of recent Ibadan releases, Âme and Carl Craig. The track grandly and slowly glides towards a synth-heavy climax, which will leave many dancefloors breathless. Most of you will know Ripperton from his releases on Num, Border Community and Connaisseur, as well as from being a member of Lazy Fat People. With its precisely programmed beats generally inclined to melancholy and huge, emotional moments on the floor, '10A' continues to coin a sound which journalists recently tried to grasp as minimal trance. Ripperton remains true master of this genre. Considering the feastful atmosphere of the track, this will open many hearts on a dancefloor near you."

"DJ Sebbo from Würzburg is and has been a big influence on the scene in his hometown, where he holds a residency at the club Airport. He also started producing in the late '90s. Last year he made waves with releases on Trackdown and Fullscale. His track 'Beirut Boogie' for Liebe*Detail is a reduced and rolling affair, using orchestral horn and trumpet samples in a very innovative way. By adding a sparse breakbeat here and there, Sebbo manages to enrich his track with unobtrusive funk that emphasizes the general flow of 'Beirut Boogie.' Lars Wickinger lives and works in Berlin. He's considered one of the up-and-coming new school minimalists, having released on Traum and Opossum so far. His 'Villa Incognito' digs deep into an elaborate groove, which creates an improbable undertow. Single, swelling synths wash over the track every once in a while, creating subtle climaxes without stealing attention from the flowing, delicate percussion work."

"Tiger Stripes is Mikael Nordgren from Sweden. In the past, he has also been producing as D'Malicious and 12th Floor on influential labels such as King Street, Ibadan and Wave. He also collaborated with Kerri Chandler and Jerome Sydenham. As Tiger Stripes he dedicates himself to the fusion of soulful house and garage elements with a more grabbing techno aesthetic. In doing so, he manages to cover all sorts of intensity levels, whereupon 'Hooked,' his contribution for liebe*detail, definitely resides at the upper end of the scale, as it is a very electronic, pushing track which still is aware of his roots in the North American house triangle New York/Chicago/Detroit, but also manages to infuse it with a European techno sensitivity. On the flip, Mladen Solomun from Hamburg, owner of the label Diynamic Music and promoter of a party of the same name, explores a similar musical terrain, but he does so in a more deep and laid back way."

"Having contributed two tracks and one remix for liebe*detail already, Vincenzo now returns as a team with Joel Mull from Stockholm, who alongside Adam Beyer, is rated among the most important DJs/producers in Scandinavia. Their track 'Stocktown' is a lesson in techno-infused precision and sound aesthetics. What starts with a more than tight groove in a rather dark way, surprisingly develops into a very uplifting track, basking in beautifully crafted synth harmonies, which won't fail to unfold their euphoric qualities. Their dry, technical knowledge meets with an absolute intention for huge emotions. This equation definitely works! Ed Davenport is also not a stranger to liebe*detail anymore, because after 'Swantalk',' 'Eyespeak' already is his second contribution to the label. Comparing his debut to his sophomore effort, 'Swantalk' still was much more anchored in the minimal area. 'Eyespeak,' however, displays an unmistakable enthusiasm for warm and driving house chords forming the linchpin of this track. Ed doesn't deliver a classic house track, anyhow. He rather takes a huge chunk of inspiration from Chicago house and turns it into a very modern sounding, kicking dance track."

"Ulyssse is a young producer from Paris who regularly hosts his Puzzle parties at the Batofar, but his debut for liebe*detail doesn't associate itself with recent trends from the French capital like Ed Banger style rockrave or the eccentric funk from labels such as Karat or Circus Company. 'Sometimes' rather establishes a perfect groove with only a few elements creating a hypnotic undertow. Sonically, the track bass heavily moves under water, perfectly crafted for the time when the dancefloor has long forgotten to go home. Together with Donato Dozzy Marco Tonni aka Touane is among the most excellent Italian producers coining minimal dance music from southern Europe over the last few years. Where Dozzy focusses on progressively-tinged, hypnotic techniques, Touane rather is a tireless explorer of unheard of textures and harmonies, which he perfectly proved on his album Figura on Stewart Walker's Persona label. 'Chamber' seamlessly is picking up his album thread. The track puts together a rangy percussion work sitting on a bed of discreet and feastful harmonies turning it into candy floss for hyper sensitive dancers."

"Sven Tasnadi has released a solo EP and a collaboration with Daniel Stefanik on Cargo Edition so far. His work can be classified as minimal in a wide sense, but not in that aseptic way, as his tracks are more groovy, deep and always have the human touch by his use of elaborate yet loose percussion patterns. For his track on Liebe Detail, he is holding up to those virtues, but follows a path clearly inspired by deep house. The track lives on one irresistible synth theme navigating 'A Run Into Flowers' towards discretely euphoric moments. Hamburg-based producer Holger Brauns, who has released his music in different constellations on labels such as Gumption, Kostbar Musik and Dimmer, takes a similar approach with his partner Nils Nürnberg. 'Delicious' fathoms the concept of deep house with regards to its validity in the here and now, arriving at the conclusion that the genre's vocabulary is so universal, it will never go out of fashion. This track is perfect for the early and/or late hours of a soulful party."
