Title: No New York
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 102CD
One of the records that becomes more & more definitive with each passing decade, never before reissued "legitimately" until now. Now? Well, this one is licensed from Universal Music Plc., Russia -- a company that does seems to exist -- you tell me. Probably no-noised from vinyl, but sounding acceptable. This record is simply -- IT. "One of the brightest and most famous projects of the entire punk/new wave scene, No New York was released in 1978 on Island's sub-label Antilles and became a total cult in the indie scene. Featuring some of the most incredible rule breaking bands of the underground New York art and music scene, the project -- strongly pursued by Brian Eno -- is a genuine snapshot of the massively creative NYC scene, from which innumerable trends started and became part of the modern pop music as we know it. Influential, powerful and ground breaking, this collection features four of the top icon shattering Gotham City no-wavers like James Chance (Contortions), Arto Lindsay and Ikue Mori (DNA), Lydia Lunch (Teenage Jesus) and Sumner Crane (Mars). If you missed the original it's time to get your hands on this reissue. The CD digipack version includes a detailed booklet." Booklet contains lyrics to all songs, in Cyrillic and English.

Artist: FAITHFULL, MARIANNE
Title: Come My Way
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 104CD
"In 1965 Marianne Faithful released two debut albums simultaneously, a self-titled pop album and an album called Come My Way comprised somewhat unexpectedly of folk tunes. While the first album generally reaffirmed her persona as she-devil and soulless poster child of that hedonistic generation, the latter gave listeners a fleeting glimpse of a hidden darker side, perhaps an unintentional foretelling of those black days that would soon follow. This reissue, available briefly in the UK and Japan, features four bonus tracks: her classic 1969 single 'Sister Morphine,' released prior to the Rolling Stones' version, the 1964 B-side 'Blowin' in the Wind,' 'Et Maintenant,' from a 1965 EP and the 1966 B-side 'That's Right Baby'."

Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 105CD
"Although probably best known for her implication in the 1976 shooting death of her boyfriend Olympic skier Spider Sabich, this sexy French chanteuse / overall swingin' chick released a string of sophisticated pop albums in the late sixties while married to long forgotten Vegas crooner / TV star Andy Williams. Claudine's albums have long been cult favorites among fans of the genre and Colours, Longet's fourth album, originally released in 1969 by A&M, is probably also her best. Featuring breathy versions of songs by Donovan, The Everly Brothers, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, and Randy Newman."

Artist: FLANDERS, TOMMY
Title: The Moonstone
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 106CD
Russian reissue of this 1969 MGM album. "Hunky Blues Project singer Tommy Flanders dropped out of the NYC band after their 1966 debut, probably to the joy of his management & Verve marketers. A few years & zero-interest singles later, his first & only solo LP shattered any commercial notions his handlers had. Flanders shed the R&B/Blues-covers hat for one that wouldn't be out of place on Robin Williamson's head. Moonstone, which appeared & disappeared in '69, doesn't quite have the din of most career-suicide records, but the trick was turned none the less. A dusted, laid-back folk affair from the start, Flanders thumbed a ride back to New England that left him a brokenhearted troubadour at the tree-line of the spirit world. Tommy vibes his way to a cross between a low-key, slightly fey take on Gene Clark/Kristofferson on-the-road coke-folk & later flowery, private-press freedom. A singer at heart, Flanders rounds out his studio group with the great guitarist Bruce 'Mr. Tambourine Man' Langhorne, who fills this album's sound up to near forgotten-classic status. Never-were heavies "Purple and Blue" & "The Moonstone" will pay for themselves on this flower for Dylan that's not quite Red Hash, but not quite James Taylor either." -- Kris Price.

"Original lead singer for The Blues Project, Tommy Flanders left the group in March 1966 and signed to Verve on which he released his one solo effort in 1969 after putting out a few singles. An album of very pleasantly mellow singer/songwriter folk rock in the vein of early James Taylor." 180 gram virgin vinyl.

Title: Black Merda
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 111CD
"Hailing from late-'60s Detroit, Black Merda (pronounced "Murder") were both aesthetically and musically way ahead of their time. When most black groups (including Parliament/ Funkadelic) were still sporting suits, singing about love and using a horn section, Black Merda had already become a tight guitar-heavy freak-funk four piece. By weaving guitar rock and psychedelia into soul and R&B they were the gods of the underground 'black rock' movement which fell somewhere between Jimi Hendrix and Parliament and MC5. But it wasn't just about the music, the message was just as important. As with the original release, features a 30-second 11th track not mentioned in the track listing on the outer sleeve but present on the album."

Title: The American Dream
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 112CD
"In 1971, Billboard magazine called him 'one of the finest artists on the music scene today' and later referred to his debut as one of the 'best albums of the decade.' Although his brief flirtation with stardom quickly evaporated, his music is still considered 'essential listening' by '70s rock aficionados and pop fans, particularly his critically-acclaimed self-titled magnum opus, which climbed to the top of the charts in the U.S., and American Dream. Often called 'Paul McCartney's musical twin,' his influence can definitely be felt here, particularly on songs like 'Mother Earth' and 'Holly Park.' But Emitt was no McCartney copy cat, he was simply a musical genius of the same caliber, exploring pop music in the same direction. Unlike his self-titled debut, which features Rhodes playing and recording every instrument, this features session musicians and a few old tracks from his previous band Merry Go Round, like the fine 'You're A Lovely Woman.'"

Artist: HARMONIA
Title: Musik Von Harmonia
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 119CD
"Once called 'the world's most important rock group' by Brian Eno, legendary minimalist avant-garde band Harmonia was formed in the early '70s by Michael Rother of Neu! and Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius of Cluster. Although this supergroup produced only two studio albums -- 1974's Musik von Harmonia and 1975's De luxe -- they were very influential and perfectly embodied the Krautrock ideal. While leaning slightly towards Cluster's ambient sound, they were also entirely their own entity -- a jet engine running clean and precise but also spouting asphyxiating aural exhaust."

Price: $20.00
Catalog #: LR 120CD
"Jazz organist Jimmy Smith popularized the use of Hammond organ in jazz music and is credited with having invented the soul jazz style. Many of his albums are classics and his influence is omnipresent in the jazz world. For this stellar 1972 release on Verve, the Organ Grinder accompanied by Leroy Vinnegar, Teddy Edwards, Ray Crawford, Donald Dean and Victor Pantoja comes home to where it all began: the blues. These high spirited and relaxed sessions give each musician the chance to stretch out over a tantalizingly funky blues that features five Smith originals along with Harvey Siders' 'Mournin' Wes,' a tribute to friend and fellow musician Wes Montgomery."

Title: Three Imaginary Boys
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP
Price: $22.00
Catalog #: LR 130LP
"The undisputed leaders of the early gothic scene, and a seminal band that contributed to the rise of British post-punk, the Cure recorded their debut album Three Imaginary Boys at London's Morgan Studios and released it on May 8, 1979. After touring for almost all of 1977, the band changed their name to The Cure and rearranged their line-up with the sacking of Porl Thompson, giving birth to an unusual power trio. This line-up lasted only for their first album, making it unique in its essentially minimal sound. The year was now 1978, and the three (imaginary?) boys soon signed to Chris Parry's Fiction Label. What you hold in your hands is the faithful re-release of the original UK pressing. After this issue, the album was released in the US with a different title (Boys Don't Cry -- from one of the band's best selling singles) and a slightly different track listing."

"Originally released in 1968, Caetano Veloso's debut album did for Brazilian music what the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's did for rock & roll, giving birth to the soon-to-be tropicalia movement, which fused Brazilian music with pop, psychedelia and social awareness (and Veloso's leftist politics actually earned him a stint in jail in 1968 for 'anti-government activity'). Veloso, nonetheless went on to become one of the most popular and influential Brazilian musicians of all time. Includes the genre-defining classics 'Clarice' and' 'Soy Loco Por Ti, America,' 'Superbacana,' 'Tropicalia' and 'Alegria, Alegria.' Now with bonus CD of the album!" On 180 gram vinyl.

"A member of the Blues Hall of Fame and one of the greatest harmonica players the world has ever known, James 'Superharp' Cotton learned to play harmonica at an early age from none other than Sonny Boy Williamson. By the time he had reached the ripe old age of 17, he had already cut 4 songs for Sun Records and had his own radio show! Then in 1954, blues legend Muddy Waters famously offered him a spot in his band and Cotton went on to play with Muddy for 12 years. His first record as bandleader, however, was not released until 1967, on Verve. Pure Cotton, also on Verve, was released the following year and here Cotton, age 33, finally gets a chance to stretch out and be himself (meaning, he gets down and dirty and plays that harp like his ass was on fire, sometimes even blowing the keys out of the instrument)!"

"Detroit is not only a 'rock city.' Michigan-born William Devise Jr. (or Mitch Ryder, if you prefer) is one of the clearest examples of a city born and raised with r'n'b, soul and any other possible forms of African-American music you can think of. Ryder and his Detroit Wheels began hitting the charts pretty consistently between 1965 and 1967, when the Wheels' adventure came to an end. This 1969 album could be fully considered a Booker T and MGs record featuring Mitch Ryder, given Steve Cropper's production and the participation of the whole gang to the project. What could we say? "Often referred to as 'Brazil's unofficial poet laureate' and the 'Bob Dylan of Brazil,' this heavy-weight of Brazilian music was also a young revolutionary who used his music to protest against Brazil's oppressive military regime. This protest music, which became known as Tropicalia, first earned Veloso a stint in jail, but by the time this dour album was released in 1971, it had placed him in exile in the UK. Veloso's extreme bitterness and melancholy can be heard on every groove of this album, but don't let the album's gloomy atmosphere stop you from buying it; it is dripping with some of the best moments of saudade in the history of Brazilian music."

"Formed in L.A. in 1965, Canned Heat were a blues/boogie rock band whose music was not only responsible for passing on the blues fever to the hippie generation, but also for bringing back into the public eye some of the great original bluesmen like John Lee Hooker, with whom they later played. Originally released as Live At Topanga Corral for contractual reasons, this album was actually recorded live at Los Angeles' famed Kaleidoscope club. This recording, made in 1969, features the original line-up with the great Bob Hite on vocals and Alan Wilson on guitar and is one of their best live recordings ever! The band definitely 'cooks'...just like Sterno cooking fuel... just like Canned Heat!"

"Apparently when this album was originally released in 1972, confused and bewildered fans, expecting more of the same found on Transa, released earlier that year, returned the album to the shop, demanding a refund. Meanwhile, critics raved, and many now consider Araçá Azul, known as Veloso's 'experimental album' to be one of his great creative moments. To be fair to his many fans, it was a stark departure from his previous releases, which were decidedly more pop, but Veloso had been through a lot recently, having just returned from political exile in the UK, so it is no wonder that the artist was feeling a bit like he needed to fly in the face of conformity. In Veloso's own words, 'I made this album without thinking, without taking the time to stop to think.' He refers to the album's 'insolent experimentalism' and calls it a kind of 'last stand.'"

In fact, Jobim had just finished working on an album with Frank Sinatra when he went into the studio to record this album. Recorded in 1967, Wave is actually one of the lesser known masterpieces of Brazilian music, and undoubtedly one of Jobim's greatest. Here Jobim and the great Claus Ogerman lead a top-flight cast on hidden classics like 'Batidinha,' 'Triste' and 'Wave.'"

The general tone of the album keeps with its dire message -- Veloso felt it was important for his voice of protest to be heard around the world. "One of the top 'girl groups' of all time (and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers since 1995), Martha Reeves & the Vandellas dominated the female side of Motown of the mid-'60s. Although unlike The Supremes, led by the breathy and demure Diana Ross, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas had a stronger, more soulful sound, which made top ten hits into Holland-Dozier-Holland creations like '(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave,' 'Nowhere To Run,' 'Honey Chile' and their anthem 'Dancing In The Street.' This classic 1965 release is one of their best full-length albums because not only does it feature the hits, but true to its title, it is also packed with Motown dance standards of the day like 'Mickey's Monkey,' 'Hitch Hike' and 'The Jerk.' Catalog #: LR 149CD
"Originally released on Trojan in 1974, it was essentially a re-release of the Soul Rebels LP from 1970, with a few extra tracks. This historic release marked Bob Marley & the Wailers' first collaboration with Lee Perry and the true beginning of their musical and spiritual commitment to Rastafari. Lee Perry's production genius had a profound impact on the genre and many fans argue that this collaboration resulted in some of the band's best music. This is Bob Marley and the original Wailers (Peter Tosh & Bunny Wailer) long before they became international reggae superstars with Island. The tracks found here redefined reggae music, and although they were later re-recorded by Bob Marley, tracks like 'Soul Rebel,' 'Duppy Conqueror,' 'Small Axe' and their version of James Brown's 'Try Me' never sounded better. Also featuring 3 bonus tracks: 'Lively Up Yourself,' 'Trench Town Rock' and 'African Herbsman.'"

"Originally released in 1969, this album is one of the most significant in Brazilian musical history, spearheading the musical Tropicalia revolution lead by Brazilian legends Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, not to mention Gal Costa and mutant rockers Os Mutantes. Not only were the artists experimenting with the music, they were also making a very strong political statement that spoke out very harshly against the military regime in Brazil at the time. This album helped land Veloso and Gil a brief stint in jail and eventually in political exile in the UK. Track listing: 'Miserere Nobis' (Gilberto Gil), 'Coracao Materno' (Caetano Veloso), 'Panis Et Circensis' (Os Mutantes), 'Lindoneia' (Nara Leao), 'Parque Industrial' (Gilberto Gil), 'Geleia Geral' (Gilberto Gil), 'Baby' (Gal Costa & Caetano Veloso), 'Tres Caravellas' (Caetano Veloso & Gilberto Gil), 'Enquanto Seu Lobo Nao Vem' (Caetano Veloso), 'Mamae Coragem' (Gal Costa), 'Bat Macumba' (Gilberto Gil), 'Hino Do Senor Do Bonfim' (Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa & Os Mutantes)."

Catalog #: LR 155LP
180 gram vinyl, gatefold sleeve. "We are happy to announce the release that we have all been waiting for: Claudine's last album, Sugar Me, previously only released in Japan on CD, now on vinyl! The Sugar Me album has a long history. It originally should have been released as Claudine's third album for Andy Williams' Barnaby Records label in 1974, but it was shelved, due to Claudine's waning popularity as a singer. Her first two albums, released on Barnaby at the beginning of 70s, were perfect examples of easy listening pop music, but did not sell in the age of rock music. A small independent label, Century Records, reissued these two albums in 1993, and a few other tracks were discovered. The original master tapes of the album unfortunately were lost, but the missing tracks were replaced by some previously unreleased tracks and some unfinished studio outtakes that were discovered in the Barnaby archives. The track list is the same as the CD version, but the vinyl release will have 2 bonus tracks from her 1971 single 'Canta En Espanol,' placed at the end of each side. These two tracks were newly mastered and sound significantly better (and are even a bit longer) than on a previous release. Please note that there will be no CD version this time -- only vinyl. Featuring original artwork, lyrics and rare pictures."

Title: Something's Coming: The BBC Recordings 1969-1970
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2CD
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: LR 156CD
"Yes were formed in summer of 1968 in London by vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire, and with the addition of guitarist Peter Banks, drummer Bill Bruford and organist Tony Kay, the band became Yes. Their eponymous debut was released the following year, and the vocal harmonies of Anderson and Squire and early progressive sound made them an immediate success. In 1970 the band released their second album, the somewhat less successful A Time And A Word, backed by a full orchestra. During this period the band also made a number of live appearances for BBC radio where, given the freedom of a less formal setting, the performances have a more spontaneous, less structured sound than on many of their studio recordings from the same period. Although most Yes fans would cite the early seventies as the band's most classic period, these early recordings give listeners a glimpse of what led up to that classic sound that so defined the progressive era and is the only live release to feature the original Yes line-up. Also featuring liner notes by guitarist Peter Banks who over saw the original 1998 release of these recordings. Includes an amazing version of 'Every Little Thing' plus dramatic cover versions of the Beatles and Stephen Stills, and the rare Yes original -- and previously unreleased -- 'For Everyone.'"

"Highly influenced by artists like Salvador Dalì, Tangerine Dream began life as a kind of surrealism in music. After having sold off all of their 'traditional' music equipment, the Berlin-based band began using strictly electronic devices like synthesizers, sequencers, mellotron, moog and other self-built toys. "Riding the wave of the German beat craze of the early sixties, British singer Tony Sheridan became a regular on the Hamburg club circuit, recruiting an ever-changing roster of back-up musicians that included, in 1961, a nascent Beatles featuring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Pete Best. Although still very much on the scene, bassist Stu Sutcliffe did not appear on these sessions. While most of the songs here are covers sung by Sheridan, Lennon and Harrison did write the instrumental 'Cry For A Shadow.' Hamburg is also where the Beatles first picked up the mop-top. The remaining tracks come primarily from their successful 'Virgin period,' with Christopher Franke on drums and Johannes Schmölling on keyboards. Features the CD-only bonus track 'Landing On 51.'"

"1973's brilliant Celestial Ocean, by the legendary Swiss Krautrock band Brainticket, is a concept album that details an ancient pharoah's journey into the afterlife (substitute the word 'journey' for 'trip' and you'll get what they were driving at). However, Brainticket were not mere products of their time, they explored some truly compelling musical territory and produced a superlative blanket of sound -- featuring a pioneering mix of early synthesizers, flute, zither, sitar, and male / female stream-of-consciousness spoken word vocals -- that ebbs and flows in the same general cosmos as classic Gong, going on to influence bands like Sonic Youth, Stereolab, Skinny Puppy, The Legendary Pink Dots, and more! Catalog #: LR 308LP
"Before punk rock had a name, its name was the New York Dolls. Recorded for a radio broadcast in Paris in December 1973, this is arguably THE best existing live recording of the Dolls in their prime, complete with stage banter, appalling attempts at fake French accents and a whole lot of drug-fuelled attitude. It's almost as if you were there, and for those of us who weren't, this is definitely the next best thing. In addition to thrashing through their 'hits,' the Dolls revealed their roots in covers of Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, and New York's original bad girls, the Shangri-Las." 180 gram HQ vinyl featuring a bonus CD of the album.

Here, original bass player Holger Czukay is replaced by a much more funky Rosko Gee (of Traffic fame) -- who plays a prominent role in shaping the sound of this album, writing and singing on a number of the album's tracks -- while drumming duties are shared between Jaki Liebezeit and Reebop Kwaku Baah (also from Traffic), making this one of Can's more groove-heavy releases." 180 gram HQ vinyl featuring a bonus CD of the album.

Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: LR 310LP
"1979's Can (aka Inner Space), the band's last proper album, was less experimental than its previous releases, with Michael Karoli doing more straightforward vocals and guitar. Having spent the previous decade taking elements of the classical avant-garde (i.e. Karlheinz Stockhausen) and underground rock (i.e Velvet Underground) to create a kind of genreless 'new music'--and influencing countless bands in the process--Can had reached the natural end of its journey. Although founding members Irmin Schmidt (keyboards) and Jaki Liebezeit (drums) can still be heard, Rebop Kwaku Baah and Rosko Gee of Traffic fame have been added to the mix, with former bassist Holger Czukay doing the editing." 180 gram vinyl with a bonus CD version of the same album.

Here, the band's heavy blues influence dominates their sound as they play through a set of mainly blues covers, many of which do not appear on any other recording." Format: LP+CD
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: LR 312LP
"1972's Psychonaut, by the Swiss-based Brainticket, is early seventies space rock at its finest. While the band's debut album, 1971's Cottonwoodhill, was a heavily acid-laden affair dominated by droning organ, disturbing vocals and a collection of cacophonic sound effects (causing it to carry a warning label and be banned in several countries) for their second effort, band-founder Joël Vandroogenbroeck brought in a completely new line-up and changed the band's sound dramatically. While Psychonaut still takes listeners into the realm of altered consciousness -- making heavy use of a droning Hammond, sitar, tablas, etc.-- this time the vocals are more melodic and the music itself is more song-oriented. This is by far Brainticket's most accessible album, and perhaps their most timeless. Fully remastered from the original master tapes!"

Format: LP+CD
Price: $30.00
Catalog #: LR 313LP
"Being as LSD was first developed in a laboratory in Basel, it is perhaps no coincidence that one of the most 'far out' albums of all time was made by this Swiss band (no small feat, given the competition!). Brainticket's 1971 debut, Cottonwoodhill, begins normally enough with two fine psychedelic/Krautrock-influenced tracks, but the remainder of the album plays like an acid trip with a soundtrack, dominated by Joel Vandroogenbroeck's endless droning organ, a variety of musique concrète-type sound effects and vocalist Dawn Muir's trippy vocals. The album, banned in several countries, even came with this self-imposed warning: 'After Listening to this Record, your friends may not know you anymore.' / 'Only listen to this once a day, your brain might be destroyed!'." Gatefold sleeve.

Title: Alien Soundtracks
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: LR 314LP
"1978's Alien Soundtracks was the second album by the sci-fi obsessed San Francisco experimental rock band, Chrome, formed in 1977 by Damon Edge. A brilliant combination of punk rock aesthetic, with Iggy-esque vocals, jangly guitar, primitive electronics, tape manipulation and sampling, this was also the first album to feature the mad guitar stylings of Helios Creed. Often credited as being the precursors to the industrial metal sound, the band are also akin to experimental punk/noise bands like Pere Ubu and Suicide. Featuring 'The Manifestation (Of The Idea)' originally released simultaneously on the 1982 Chrome Box and on an Italian Chrome compilation, No Humans Allowed." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Half Machine Lip Moves
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: LR 315LP
"When Chrome first came on the SF punk scene in the late seventies, they were called 'acid punk', due to their penchant for both, but also because their music came from a 'far-out' place -- a place most people could only get to while in a drug-altered state. The sci-fi obsessed Creed and Edge, however, claimed to channel their music directly from the beyond, and when 1979's groundbreaking Half Machine Lip Moves was released -- an angular and metallic sounding album interspersed with electric violin, apocalyptic tape loops, moog, atonal droning distorted guitar and a wall of metallic sounding percussion -- it certainly sounded that way. For the next five years Creed and Edge were a force to be reckoned with, laying the groundwork for the industrial music scene and directly influencing almost every guitar-toting punk ever since. Featuring three bonus tracks--'Anti-Fade', 'I Left My Heart In San Francisco' and 'Meet You In The Subway' -- which originally appeared on the Subterranean Modern compilation, released in 1979 on Ralph Records." 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Red Exposure
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: LR 316LP
"Humans are the cancer of the planet...all people have untapped psychic powers...acid is good...aliens exist...these are just some of the ideas that the pioneering San Francisco band Chrome was grappling with in its music, labeled 'acid punk' by the press in a desperate attempt to categorize them. Comparing them to everyone from Pere Ubu, to the Residents, to Devo, to Can, to Eno, the reality was that no one knew really knew where they fit in...perhaps because they really were channeling their music from some distant alien planet. In fact, Chrome's founder, Damon Edge, described himself as having something he called 'clairaudient syndrome', a condition that allows you to 'hear something before it happens'...meaning that he would first hear the music in his head, and then 'channel' it onto tape.... and perhaps that explains the music in this LP. For Chrome aficionados this album is more ambient and droning than previous albums, except for the Devo-esque 'Electric Chair'- and one wonders if they didn't write this song to poke fun at the band. Featuring three bonus tracks: 'In A Dream' and 'Danger Zone' both taken from their 1981 12" Inworlds single... and 'Informations', taken from the b-side of their rare New Age 7" released in 1980."

Title: Blood On The Moon
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $27.00
Catalog #: LR 317LP
"For this 1981 release, Edge and Creed brought in brothers John and Hilary Stench on drums and bass. The brothers hailed from the extremely popular local new wave band, Pearl Harbour & the Explosions, formed in 1978 in San Francisco. This new rhythm section can definitely be heard, making Chrome a bit more 'danceable' if you will and the first inklings of that driving industrial metal beat can be heard. Tracks like excellent 'Perfumed Metal' are a perfect example of this transformation. It was also in 1981 that Chrome received an offer to perform live in Italy from a group of Italian fans. Chrome had never appeared live before, but unbelievably they accepted the Italian gig and flew to Bologna, Italy to play their first ever live concert. The 'live instrumental track' included here is from that legendary Italian concert, on July 20, 1981."

"Metallic drums, grating guitar, a driving industrial beat, lo-fi / sci fi, toxic waste... this was the universe inhabited by SF cyber punks, Chrome. Originally released in 1982, on band founder Damon Edge's own Siren Records, this was the band's last official release. Still featuring the rhythmic talents of John & Hilary Stench on drums and bass, and as always, the brilliantly feral guitar playing of Helios Creed, the album kicks off with the jaw-dropping 'Firebomb'. Also featuring two bonus tracks from their rare 1982 Anorexic Sacrifice 7" single."

Title: Tiger's Head
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 2LP+CD
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: LR 323LP
"In 1969 at Woodstock, a relatively little-known band from San Francisco, led by a young guitar virtuoso named Carlos Santana, wowed audiences with their new breed of Latin-tinged rock. The festival catapulted Santana's self-titled debut album to the number one spot on the U.S. charts and on to superstardom. However, before Woodstock, Santana had been playing live around the Bay Area for more than two years, as these recordings, a collection of live tracks recorded during that early period (1968/69) at different Bay Area locations, can attest. Featuring Gregg Rolie (later of Journey) on organ. Features early versions of classic Santana tracks 'Jingo', 'Soul Sacrifice' and more."

Title: Audience
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $28.00
Catalog #: LR 332LP
"London art rock band that rose from the ashes of mid-sixties mod band Lloyd Alexander Real Estate. Adding sax, acoustic guitar and woodwinds to the mix, Audience soon became very popular on the club circuit, landing a residency at Ronnie Scott's and a record deal with Polydor. Their 1969 self-titled debut was a solid effort, but nonetheless was soon deleted, making original copies of this LP highly collectible. Featuring new 'positive image' cover photo plus 3 bonus tracks, including the theme from their soundtrack to the 1970 skinhead classic Bronco Bullfrog." On 180 gram vinyl.

Title: Revolução (1968-1972)
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 4LP BOX
Price: $88.00
Catalog #: LR 403LP
"The albums that brought in a new era called Tropicalia, a 1960s musical and political movement that sought to bring bossa nova into the future with the help of acid-fuelled psychedelia and political protest lyrics -- all this through the hearts and guitars of a few left-wing student protesters/musicians based in Rio De Janeiro -- including a young musician named Caetano. His musical protests soon got the attention of Brazil's military dictator, causing him to be thrown into jail and eventually forcing him to leave the country for a brief period, but by that time the Tropicalia movement had already exploded and the groundwork for much of contemporary Brazilian music had already been laid. The four albums collected here: Tropicalia, Irene, A Little More Blue and Araçá Azul straddle this tumultuous time in Caetano's life, with A Little More Blue being recorded while he was in exile in England. Caetano fortunately soon returned home in triumph, going on to become one of the most significant singer / songwriters of the 20th century."

Artist: OS MUTANTES
Title: Dois Mil E Nove
Label: LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Format: 3LP BOX
Price: $64.00
Catalog #: LR 404LP
"One of those rare amazing bands that never became the superstars they were meant to be only because they were not from the US or the UK. In fact, they were from that other musical powerhouse, Brazil, which had not yet been fully recognized as such. In line with the avant-garde movement Tropicalia, from 1968 to 1972 Os Mutantes recorded five brilliant albums drawing from traditional Brazilian music, psychedelia, 60s rock, and fusing it together into the top-secret hydrogen bomb of a new breed of rock & roll that went on to far surpass the bands they were trying so hard to match. And then they disappeared without a trace (until their reunion in 2006), except for their name appearing every now and again as a major influence on this or that famous rock star (Kurt Cobain begged them to do a reunion tour in 1993). This box collects their first three (and best) albums: Os Mutantes, Mutantes and A Divina Comedia ou Ando Meio Desligado, which have gone down in history as some of the best Brazilian music of all time."
