The Scampi Disco Scamp takes dancefloor analog melodic waves from the seas of tranquility, weaving them into solid beat-nets to catch unwary listeners by the feet. With this, the first lunar orbit, we hear "Ovid 8" metamorphose into a post-9/11 poissonier. An anthem for the pre-apocalypse generation, spinning a woven path to dancefloor bliss and enlightenment. The Hardway Bros are Sean Johnston, Rico and Jake Davies: re-edit masters for the Beard Science label, along with Jake's skills as studio wizard for Bjørk, Madonna and other VIPs. They were also known as Flash Faction, releasing on Andrew Weatherall's Sabres Of Paradise imprint. "Deutsche Trak" is one heavy and melodic piece of tripped-out tech-music, with prog elements, synth programming and spaced-out disco beats. "Acid Trak" rides similar wavelengths, but dwells in slower and deeper realms of the aural ocean.

Ost & Kjex are aided by Mungolian Jet Set's Strangefruit aka Mung on a good-natured, fun, and rather raunchy take on Prince's teen lust classic "Dirty Mind." Already road-tested throughout the whole summer, this one surely gets the girls going, which is essentially what this tune is about anyway. Comes with a dub version for those who can't take the campiness of the vocals, and only available on this limited 10" vinyl.

Straight from the sleazy lower west side of Oslo, he has teamed up with the mysterious Kanakas outfit to present these little gems of rubbered-down diamonds from the gutter. Inspired by Rune's DJ travels to the east and the south of Europe, the Odessa EP is the perfect antidote to reality TV, soap commercials, funky house, and generic minimal from suntanned blokes with plug-ins.

Trondheim is home to trønder rock, bad mustaches, leather vests and one young DJ/producer named Chmmr aka Even Brenden. Aimed straight at the dancefloor, like a piano monster from '88, "Love Will Lead U Back" works its charms at the peak-time of any party. "Man" is an early-morning Italo-acid-disco monster: from the bad-ass bass line and scatty drums to the weirdo synths, as well as a piano line that takes the roof off, all topped with some good ol' acid.

This is Skatebård's first EP for Luna Flicks, and a salute to the old sounds of Chicago. "Starwatcher II" clocks in at 112 bpm with dreamy synths and claps. Continuing the ode to the Windy City, there's also "Naar Det Rykker I Ringen." Plastique de Rêve delivers a remix of "Way Out" that is a powerful, high-speed train full of hi-nrg techno. H.R. Genova finishes things off with a future-past Italo stomp version for those wee hours.

The Sjukt (pronounced "The Shookt," meaning "the sick") is the alias of Diskjokke and half of Mungolian Jetset and Luna's co-founder Paul "Strangefruit" Nyhus. This EP showcases two pounding pieces of machine-made-flesh for the ears 'n feet. "Ghost In The Machine" is a deep 'n chunky trip to the far-out spheres, incorporating elements of psychedelic disco and exotic samples. "Bug In The Machine" is a simplistic tech-house stomper fueled with bugged-out squeaks, sounds and riffs aimed at the out-of-the-body feeling of three a.m. clubbing.
