Positive Disorder is the new mix project from Belgium's biggest techno export, Marco Bailey (Marco Beelen). With some 15 years of DJ experience and a multitude of killer techno cuts on esteemed labels such as Primate, Intec, Zync, Tortured and his own MB Elektronics and MB Selections, his mixing style and productions are known the world over. On this release, we get to see another side of Marco's DJ style. Splicing the likes of Dominik Eulberg, Trentemøller, Dinky, Mathew Jonson, Ellen Allien, Motor, Slam and Tiefschwarz across two discs, Marco opens up a more minimal groove on disc one before building the tempo on disc two that finishes in his more recognized pumping style of techno. "It's a burning, all consuming drive that can only be calmed down by getting into the music," explains Marco. "I can best describe this burning, consuming urge as a 'positive disorder.' Plainly positive because it gives a meaning to my life." One mix gives us the powerful "Rude Boy" Marco Bailey known from his DJ sets all over the world, but the other mix takes us in a different direction. This time Marco Bailey leads us into his ever-expanding musical universe with a minimal twist and hypnotic groove rolled into his techno rhythm. Fifteen years of sacrifice and dedication have seen Belgium's number one DJ break through the national borders to join the big league of worldwide techno artists. And that's exactly what he does here with Positive Disorder: travelling from West to East and back again, igniting dancefloors from Rio to Tokyo with his unique blend of underground sounds and funky techno.

Following 2005's studio-based double mix-CD, Positive Disorder, we now get a snapshot live and direct from one of Marco's exhilarating DJ sets. Splicing and dicing his way through tracks from Deetron, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Phil Kieran, Johannes Heil, Aril Brikha, Q'Hey, Samuel L. Sessions, Tekel, Tom Hades and himself, we get Marco in full-on party mode as Japan's capital gets down to his techno-induced funk. Marco Bailey's own productions frequently appear in the set lists of Carl Cox, Chris Liebing, Jeff Mills and Sven Väth, but don't let the list of big names mislead you; although ambitious, he's a self-made man with a primary mission to entertain people. Tom Hades presents a broad spectrum of techno music on Marco Bailey's Mbelektronics label. "You Should Have Stopped Me" takes you back to the '90s. "Tiger," on which Tom gets help from David Pereira, starts out easygoing but works up to energetic minimal with a gleam of electro. On "Zurunda," Tom goes tech-house style with eastern influences and warm horns. Finally, "Up Top Most Off" has a mysterious, catchy vibe and lots of twists to keep the groove alive.

Loco & Jam are Northern Ireland techno duo Lloyd Reid and James Peoples who have been getting massive support from DJs including Dubfire, Marco Bailey, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer and Carl Cox. "Roundhouse" builds up slow with a nice, deep bass but turns into a big-room techno track. The remix of "Roundhouse" by Ascion & D. Carbone has a nice groove and will fit in a variety of record-bags. Finally, the uplifting "3D Symphony" is a peak-time techno destroyer.
