They are considered one of the pioneering bands of the German cosmic rock, avant-garde, electronic music scenes. Their self titled debut is considered one of the founding documents of 'Krautrock.' Price:
$16.00
Catalog #:
MGART 115CD
"
Starring Rosi
is the fifth album by Ash Ra Tempel. Released in 1973, it is by far the most accessible Ash Ra Tempel album. Beside the drums, Manuel Gottsching played all the instruments himself.
Starring Rosi
has an organic, relaxed sound, that evokes San Francisco psychedelia. It is an evocative album that already delineates the direction in which Manuel Gottsching would go in the future. The icing on the cake is the charming recitations and songs by Rosi Mueller. Remastered by Gottsching."

"Recorded during the first Japanese tour of the band in Osaka and Tokyo in February 1997, this double album is a rare document of the late Ashra with Manuel Gottsching, Lutz Ulbrich, Harald Grosskopf with the new signing Steve Baltes, who has since been in Goettsching's band. A perfectly oiled blend of ambient, techno and innovative beats was presented to the enthusiastic Japanese audience, determined by the wonderful, mutually looping guitar playing from Goettsching and Ulbrich, and the powerfully rhythmic interplay of Grosskopf and Baltes."

"The title track
Die Mulde

Goettsching delivered its picturesque electronic sounds to an installation of 34 mirrors. The bonus track 'Cry Little HP' is based on a theme from 1981. In 2004, Goettsching added a guitar melody and devoted the piece to fan in Norway, which gave the track its title."

Inventions For Electric Guitar
Label:
MG.ART (GERMANY)
Format:
CD
Price:
$16.00
Catalog #:
MGART 401CD
"With his first solo album, which was originally released in 1974, Manuel Gottsching (Ash Ra Tempel) laid the foundation for many other upcoming works. In fact, the guitar was invented here, for his play on the three epic tracks are years ahead of its time: Circular, flat, layered loops and improvisations create a compelling, hypnotic atmosphere and make this album in retrospect a landmark of new guitar culture. The album was completely remastered by Manuel Gottsching himself and is finally available in superb quality."

MGART 404CD
"This album (recorded in 1981 and released in 1984) by the Ash Ra Tempel guitarist consists of a minimalistic hour-long progressive electronic track that is subdivided into single tracks according to the stage of the song. The second half of the record is notable for Gottsching's guitar playing. The album is named after the most popular opening chess move, 1. e4. A classic that has influenced hundreds of trance and house music artists."
