"Niklas Worgt and Eva Padberg alias Dapayk & Padberg, are boyfriend and girlfriend, a creative and a model. After five conjoint singles on their label Mo's Ferry Prod., Niklas and Eva worked in their studio and recorded their first double album, a colourful music mixture with groovy minimal and pop-like experimental song where the familiar experiments of clicking snippets of Niklas meet the cheeky, demanding and dreamy lyrics from Eva's notebook. Just from first brief listen
Close Up
is even stronger than expected, Dapayk's sound is even thicker, intense and more worked out than with his recent singles, Eva's voice is even more beautifully blissed and see through, the lyrics more refined. A grown up and thrillingly versatile 'real' album project, 3 of the 8 tracks are definite and extremely rocking floor anthems previously unheard on the label. In short: we would think, one of the top 5 German minimal electro/techno albums this year."

"With this mad new 4 tracker by sound searcher James Gibson aka (a)pendics shuffle (Orac) Mo's Ferry carry their highly individual artistic formula of putting a maximum of eccentric abstraction into a cut while keeping the floor pressure to the most extreme level. Ruff cut-up 4/4 funk with brimming with uncounted itsy-bitsy sound particles, spooky mutilated voice cut-ups, butchered basslines sand blasted with gnarly bleeps and blops and a pinch of dark humor. Unbending, unassimilated, incorruptible and proud of it: Mo's Ferry are insistently carving their own niche in electronic music."

Remixes by Falko Brocksiper, Lump, Someone Else, Marcel Knopf. "MFP019 really is a firework! Music made with heart and soul. Beautiful, this deep Brocksieper Mix -- it's flow is one of the finest. A2: a romantic Lump, who will reel filled flews in, after having thrown his seductive bait on the 'Love Fish Sea Bottom' of the club landscapes. And yet, there is someone else!? Someone Else, who is mixing the vocals in the finest manner on B1 -- as always -- an airy inciting and pushing mixture for a t_time of doozy. 'Use Your Arms,' Marcel Knopf! If your legs might be a bit weak after the first three mixes, you can swing your arms right now into the air and sink into a rocking broken beat after a gap that hardly can be reached."

"Mossa is back on Mo's Ferry after his great
Some Eat It Raw
album at Circus Company! This time he shows his sweet and sickly rumbling side. Side A purrs, like the minette track promises, through clappy clicky frequencies, which lay around that terrific groovy bassline and dance with tiny speech snatches. Mr. Portable takes only a few samples of the original and creates an energy filled remix, which reveals his African roots. Side B reveals rumble sugar, which melts directly on the disk and sweetens the ears just to lay on your hips and command them to move during sweet mambo."

2nd album from Dapayk, following the
Close Up
collaborative album Padberg. DJ support by: Wighnomy Brothers, Mathias Kaden, Anja Schneider, Falko Brocksieper, [a]pendics.shuffle, Jay Haze, Butane, Someone Else, Pan Pot, Mossa. The first disc includes one exclusive CD bonus track; plus there's an entirely bonus 2nd CD included. About Dapayk: "The man behind the project is Niklas Worgt, who has been producing since `93. When he started out, he tried different styles, that were breakbeat and drum'n bass influenced. With several projects, such as Sonstware, Persona non grata and Frauds in White he developed a versatility and a good feeling for not getting stuck in one genre. In the late 90s he started to play as Dapayk. 2003: He formed the project Dapayk and Padberg together with model Eva Padberg and released an album. 2006: Marek Bois is born! Dapayk's minimal techno project starts with releases on Trapez ltd. and Rrygular. Dapayk has released tracks on Karloff, Textone, Contexterrior, Trapez ltd., Rrygular, Orac, Friends of Tomorrow, Musik Krause, Fenou..."

"Berlin, a melting pot of cultures: in this episode: Sweden & USA. Mikael Stavöstrand is recognized as a minimal structural engineer for a long time now -- both as a solo artist and in variant collaborations. On 'No Turning Back' his co-worker for the vocal component is once again Big Bully with a softly pushing voice right above Mikael's bouncy, but clean beats. On B1 the A-side track is remixed by Krause Duo. In contrast to the original they replaced most of the vocals by an e-piano line with warm and dub-like harmonies. In the end B2 arises the question: 'Where did you go?': The answer is ... maybe like every monday: dancing!"

"Number 25... time to do something special again. Therefore we compiled four tracks by artists from our Mo's Ferry Pool on this 12". The opening track is 'Nowhere In Kansas' features awesome vocals by Abe Chapman. After this we have Tanaka Hideyuki's 'Let Me See' which was released on Marcel Knopf's
Bits To Phono Mix
CD first. Finally, we cut the track on vinyl. The other side is 'Kick'ed by his fellow countryman Hidenobu Ito, who debuted for us on Fenou03. The mini compilation is concluded by label owner Dapayk solo himself with a previously unreleased track named 'Cleansea'. For the occasion we decided to put the record in a unique stamped cover artwork. It's good to have a touchable medium like VINYL, that offers such a potential."

"[a]pendics.shuffle -- one of the most occupied U.S. producers for minimal techno these days comes up with his 2nd release on Mo's Ferry Prod.
The Sammy Baker Davis Jr. EP
is filled with 3 tracks on a 12", all of them more or less straight but none of them is missing the shuffle factor. B1. has a very nice and a little bit freaky bassline. Once again his way of using short and broken vocals is close to perfection and results in a cool bundle of tracks typical for the Mo's Ferry 'frickel sound.'"

"Luka & Lazo's third act on Mo's Ferry Prod. Once again the two Croatians give us fresh and grooving proof that it is not necessary for them to go along with typical minimal sounds. No question that this EP with its bodyrocking tracks is ruled over with a funk that so many techno producers would like to call their own, while they still end up with the ever-present unisound, because it just seems easier to go along with the present minimal standards. Luka & Lazo don't have to do that and in each of their tracks you can sense the joy of not being 'one of them.' It's a celebration of difference and of the knowledge how to do that alternative rockshit. Barem of Foundsound adds his version of techno with a remix of 'Dust No.4' that pushes it more to the border of essential minirave."

"Mo's Ferry release #29 is part 2 of the remix series for Dapayk Solo's
Impulsion Parasite
album. The record begins with the winner of the 'Hollis' remix contest -- C.Drummond aka The Wolves Outside. The Canadian stood up to countless others and provides weird grooves and cut-up funk, that shows creativity at its best. Rrygular and Apnea act From Karaoke to Stardom impresses his distinctive seal on the unofficial Dapayk hymn 'Marek Stolpert.' He leaves the deepness of the original, but puts his remix on a level of more minimal detailedness without losing sight of the crowded dancefloor. Mobilee's Pan-Pot, also referred as 'The (Cooking) Pots' or 'The Three Funny Two,' bury the snippets of original track 'Hagen' in an abyssal bass arrangement and conjure a floorburner with maximum functionality. To complete the record there's Mathias Kaden's version of 'Warteballmusik.' With the help of his live-recorded bongo percussions, he adds a flair of an after-hour classic to the funky original."

"Their debut album
Close Up
created a stir in late 2005 and the Dapayk solo album,
Impulsion Parasite
backed up the position of Mo's Ferry Prod. as a label for remarkable minimal tunes one year later. Now, after almost two years of silence around the Dapayk & Padberg project, Eva Padberg and Niklas Worgt aka Dapayk return with a brand-new collaborative masterpiece. By the way, for all of you who think of Naomi Campbell when hearing the album title -- give it another thought. Actually, what's meant by 'Black Beauty' is the vinyl record itself. Mo's Ferry 30 is coming as a prerelease single and its focus is the central topic of the album: the continuity of vinyl as a sound medium for electronic music. On the single Dapayk & Padberg take off with two versions of the eponymous track. The A-side contains the first DJ-tool with a slowly developing arrangement and a kind of 'is it possible to put in another bass?!' style. Dark, rocking, compelling! The B-side presents 'Black Beauty' in the dress of 10+ minutes' afterhour edit. While producing this version, Dapayk must have immersed himself in the long morning to early afternoon hours on some open air location. Analog, soft and with a haunting groove for the late (or already early) slots of the party-lineup."

"Berlin duo Dapayk & Padberg consist of respected producer Niklas Worgt and vocalist (and part time supermodel) Eva Padberg. Their debut 'Close Up' in 2005 burst brightly and found its authors riding high on the best album & live act lists of magazines like

De:Bug
. This, their second collaborative album, is a fresh mix of sharp techno, heavy percussion and acerbic lyrics directed at the superficial and super fickle amongst us."

"Hidenobu Ito is not really known in Europe, although he already has a list of releases to show, but on the other side of the world -- in Japan. Hidenobu grew up in Inagi City, a municipality of Tokyo. Since his childhood he has been interested in game and experimental music. So, he started working as a cartoonist to afford his own music equipment. In the 1990s, he began producing his first tracks, music compilation albums and soundtracks. Up to now, Hidenobu Ito released his music on labels such as Flyrec, Elegantdisc, NS-com, TripTrap, Sub Rosa, etc. The first contact to the Mo's Ferry crew was his track 'Lover' on the third series of the 10" label, Fenou. After that, one of his tracks had been included on the Mo's Ferry Prod.
25
last year. Now, there's his first solo release for the label called
Wake
. The title track definitely helps to find a proper genre for this EP (like minimal), but it already shows Hidenobu's vision to include no out-of-the-box samples, but experimental and organic snippets. 'Voicedelique' and even more 'Micro2' are better examples to show that. B1 is a remix by Krikor, the perfect matching artist for this EP. He made a piece that still contains the weirdness of the original but has a little more punch."

"Olene Kadar. Well, sounds like the occident. But that's the completely wrong track. Behind this moniker you'll find a young man by the real name of Henk van Zwol and he's from Holland, more precisely from Friesland. All but far away from the big city club socialization a wondrous but fascinating character grew up that just started to spread out. It would be a shame to just leave him to the machinery of the club music business today. But first of all, the most important thing, his music: Olene Kadar's A-side track 'Button' is most clearly described by one word: excess! Because that's the result when you are dancing on the floor smoothly and unagitated and then this insane, frantic modulation of sounds is erupting. Sure, there's a need for a proper loudness and an extended low end (a little more than usual) is helping a lot to intensify this moment. What DJs build up over a set of two to three hours, 'Button' offers the peak in barely eight minutes."

"Just the other day we skipped through Dapayk & Padberg's album previews again. And we were pretty surprised. It seems as both wanted to hide some great tracks for the next album. There's no other reason why we would have missed 'Distracted,' this fantastic up-front A-side-track. Perhaps we did not overlook this piece, but we were distracted by the concept of their
Black Beauty
album -- far away from this conventional minimal genre cliché. According to the EP title, the B-side reveals this record's real nature. Nôze, the two brilliant maniacs from France, remixed 'Island' (or 'swimming circles' as the lyrics imply). The original was one of the most melodic tunes on the album and with an amazing vocal part by Caro, it is a one-of-a-kind collaboration. But Nôze tops it all off. The beginning is super laid-back -- fingers flipping right above a groovy bass line. After a while, the vocal and additional piano-phrases move in, and with an amazing chorus, the track turns into a cineastic avant-garde opus. An alternation of melancholy and hope -- this track has everything to fascinate the people this summer. The second remix on the record is 'Khes,' which most people considered the club hit of the album. Now, Digitaline from Switzerland present a less vocally, more groove-oriented minimal version. While mostly playing around with the wooden percussion sounds, every now and then they throw in some bits and pieces, like tiny cut-up vocal snippets. But not randomly -- just in time and not too much. A must."

This two-track 12" by
Dapayk Solo
announces the release of his second album
Devil's House
. "Devil's House" elicits a proper bass response -- pure frickelsound that pays attention to details. "A Saw Attacks" is sporty staccato minimal, while a full-stereo sawtooth sound and a demonic vocal sample take the lead, pushed by a strong punchy kick drum and accompanied by a sound design of clicks and sweeps.

Denmark's
Henk van Zwol
aka
Olene Kadar
presents the masterful
Paying Bill
. "Sarg Wualb" takes the subject of "I-modulate-that-siren-until-everybody-gets-up-from-his-seat" to the next level. "Betrokken" proves that a track with extensive usage of edgy "frickelsound" elements doesn't have to end in a top-heavy electronica-piece, but can be directed to the floor as very straight-forward and impulsive techno. These two tracks show what Henk van Zwol demands from his body and his consciousness when playing live.

This is the second full-length release from
Dapayk Solo
on Mo's Ferry. Unlike its forerunner
Impulsion Parasite
(2006), the beats are less abstract, but topical and more breakbeat-like: you can't miss the straightness of these voluminous sounds. "Intro" features the cinematic shattering of a saw -- full of dark power. These powers continue on "Scratch The Surface," which should get the dancefloor pulsing, and "A Saw Attacks" is another sawtooth massacre mixed with breakbeats and minimalism. Dubstep and two samples also interweave on this track, so you don't have a single clue where electro starts and techno ends. New to Dapayk Solo productions are the tiny skits and small audio clips that separate and connect tracks, such as within "Better Stop Breathing," which leads over to "Vermo's House" and combines Dapayk's stumbling beats with a nasty sawing sound. "Road to Boesendorf" is a relaxing piano etude, before "Right Here With Me" starts. On "Berlin Amo," two-step beats and electro marry without trouble and gives hints as to where Berlin's musical journey might be going."Child Of The Night" is dark minimal and "How Low" evokes the depths of the bass matched with incisive, questioning vocals. The beatless snippet "Strings Attached" leads to the melancholic "Niro," which connects dubstep a la
Burial
and minimalism. "Skit" -- a clip with an acoustic guitar -- leads over to "A Wave That Leads You Home." This album is an emotional dancefloor joyride -- a detailed and exciting rollercoaster that is packed with Dapayk's trademark sounds and new influences you'll want to experience over and over again.
