"
African Brothers Meet King Tubby In Dub
is a true rarity in dub. Since their humble beginnings in Kingston's Maxfield Park in the 1960s, The African Brothers (made up of legendary reggae singers Sugar Minott, Tony Tuff & Eric Bubbles), have been a group way ahead of their time. The African Brothers would go on to record some of the best reggae music of the 70s, 'Lead Us Father' and 'Righteous Kingdom' were both smash hits for the group. Fans of reggae music felt a terrible loss when the group separated in the late 70s, but were delighted when all three members launched their solo careers.
African Brothers Meets King Tubby In Dub
has been over 20 years in the making, and is yet another example that the group's music is timeless. This album contains the unreleased dub versions of their classic tunes from 1968-1978. The late King Tubby mixes the tracks, so you know you are in for a musical treat. An all-star lineup of studio musicians provides backing on these vital root dub selections. Sly & Robbie, Coulton Barrett, Aston 'Family Man' Barrett, Leroy 'Horsemouth' Wallace, Leroy Sibbles, Lloyd Parks, Earl 'Chinna' Smith, Eric 'Bingy Bunny' Lamont, Tommy McCook, Vin Gordon, Count Ossie and Bongo Herman all contribute to these lost classics."

Title:
Dub 911
Label:
NATURE SOUNDS
Format:
CD
Price:
$13.50
Catalog #:
NSD 122CD
"Scientist burst onto the reggae scene in the early 70's with a reckless mixing style that seemed to outdo even dub legend King Tubby's wildest extravaganzas. He began his career as an engineer at King Tubby's studio in 1978. Shortly afterwards he became a protege of King Tubby, and swiftly gained a reputation with his unique mixing style. The Scientist soon became Jamaica's top recording engineer and worked with everyone imaginable including Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Freddie McGregor, Dean Frasier, Linval Thompson, Augustus Pablo, The Heptones and many more. This led to a surge of albums mixed by The Scientist from various sources throughout the 1980s.
Dub 911
is the first studio album of all new material from the dub icon in 3 years and he sounds as fresh as ever."
