Artist: DEGIORGIO, KIRK
Title: Nairobi
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: REG 061EP
2001 release. "Using his real name for the first time, 'Nairobi' and 'Unruly' feature all the funky, techno based elements of Kirk's original ground-breaking releases on his legendary ART label, but update them with a fresh creativity and all the hi-tech polish that 10 years of studio building can bring. And if you thought the future funk of 'Nairobi' and the smooth, stylish techno of 'Unruly' was good enough then Carl Craig's remix should be the icing on the cake. A new studio refit provided the perfect opportunity for one of Detroit's finest to produce one of his most club-worthy mixes since the days of Paperclip People -- deep, moody and very Carl Craig. Perfect."

Artist: ATKINS, JUAN
Title: Back To Basics (Part 2)
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 089EP
Originally released in 2004. "Following up his first release for New Religion records, techno godfather Juan Atkins returns with the 2nd part of his Back To Basics series. After the success of Part One, Part Two moves on to pastures with 3 raw cuts ready for the deeper dance floors. Forging a new style yet retaining the elements of his original production work, Juan brings three slightly different flavours to the fore on this EP. 'Move Mix' is a slower and funkier proposition, the guitar parts and trademark stabs remind us of his work under his Infiniti moniker and should appeal to techno and house DJs alike. A classic slice of Juan with a new twist. 'Catastrophy' is a dark underwater adventure, think Drexciya territory. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' is purposely made for the harder parts of his relatively eclectic DJ sets, a raw, hard dancefloor track that would also fit well into DJ sets by the likes of Jeff Mills or Rolando."

Title: Back To Basics (Part 1)
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 092EP
Originally released in 2004. "The word 'legend' is bandied around all too often these days, but one man to whom the label can be applied without doubt is Juan Atkins. Revolutionary godfather of Detroit techno who paved the way for such other local legends as Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson and Carl Craig and also proved an inspiration to the likes of Black Dog, Richie Hawtin, 808 State and Aphex Twin. In recent years Juan has been preaching his musical philosophy from the DJ booth, in the UK guesting at long-running techno institution 'Lost.' Now, Juan returns with 'Track Ten' on New Religion records. An emotive slab of classic, Motor City techno, 'Track Ten' opens with heartfelt synth lines that build into a rumbling breakbeat and an incisive bass-line, topped with a beautiful synth riff. On the flip, Kirk Degiorgio supplies a faithful reworking, flipping up the percussion and adding deft production touches in his own inimitable style."

Artist: FREAK SEVEN VS. CRITICAL PHASE
Title: The Remixes
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 097EP
Originally released in 2004, with remixes from Orlando Voorn and Maurice Fulton. "In the first of this two part series, New Religion invites some of their favourite artists from the electronic underground to remix tracks from their limited edition 4 x 12" series. Maurice Fulton is well known for his raw freaked jacking dancefloor style, both under his own name and as part of Mu. Rewiring Dan Keeling & Kirk Degiorgio's Critical Phase project, he fuses loose early '80s electronic punk funk with the warm strings and rhythm of today's underground dance music. Orlando Voorn, hailing from Holland, is now a resident in Detroit and a member of the ever growing Submerge family. He is also known for his releases as 'Fix' or under his Baruka & Basic Bastard pseudonyms, on the classic Buzz records and Outland respectively. Currently undergoing somewhat of a renaissance, Orlando can now be found residing and collaborating with Detroit's legendary Underground Resistance project. Here he brings us a deep remake of Manchester's Freak 7."

Artist: ATKINS, JUAN
Title: Fast Forward
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 103EP
Originally released in 2004. "3rd release on underground label New Religion. Nicely packaged in a sumptuous sleeve with a dynamic illustration by fellow Detroit musician/journalist/artists Alan Oldham aka DJ T-1000 of Underground Resistance fame. Fast Forward differs slightly from the Back To Basics series, harking back to classic Juan material, yet with a new twist. 'The Mission' is minimal, melodic, electronic, dancefloor material which retains Juan's trademark touches. 'Tango' is an almost psychedelic drum workout for DJs and listeners alike, and 'I Love You' harks back to his earlier Metroplex releases, a vocal number with touches of his classic sound again. 'Spin' is full of melancholy chords and stabs all underpinned with an awesome Detroit bassline proving why Juan, after 20 years +, is still the king of this genre."

Artist: FOXX, JOHN
Title: Mr No
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 113EP
"In their bid to re-discover the obscure early '80s electronic cuts that today's dance music rely so heavily upon, New Religion bring you the 'Vanity Project'! Influential cuts from the pioneers of electronic dance music have been re-mastered and updated, bringing you a 12" series that we hope you will savour. First up is solo artist and one time member of Ultravox, John Foxx with the track 'Mr No.' 'Mr No's' surreal dark soundscape -- originally released in 1980, belies the year that it was made and is just one of many influential tracks from this camp. Previously only available as a limited edition 7" double pack, New Religion presses it on a loud 12" for the first time just for your enjoyment. Paris' man of the moment Joakim brings you the update on the flip. Joakim has been an outstanding producer on the leftfield electronic dance scene, remixing Max Berlin, Chateau Flight and Clashing Egos amongst many others to devastating effect, as well as a string of impressive solo ventures under his belt. Bringing a similar feel to this classic."

Artist: $TINKWORX
Title: EP
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 115EP
Originally released in 2005. "Sometime in the late '90s, from the depths of the US, a distinctive little 7" with a fresh dance floor sound appeared. Alerting the ears of the underground, it was picked up for re-release by two European labels...Rushhour Records and Platinum Projects. Whut went on to sell several thousand copies, announcing $tinkworx's arrival on the electronic scene. $tinkworx went onto release a series of records on Holland's Delsin, Bunker and Keynote labels, while his own DownLow imprint established itself as a premier underground electronic label, bringing new artists to the fore as well as releasing material by Dan Curtin, Convextion and Iridite. DownLow was also the label responsible for releasing the long lost Connection Machine album Painless which was once due on Carl Craig's Planet E label, and often thought of as one of the best techno long players ever written. Taking in the raw drums of Chicago, fusing it with the beauty and soul of Detroit's machine music, passing through electronic disco and Italo on the way, the seemingly tired cliches of these influences this time offer a unique quirky sound. His first EP for New Religion kicks off with the raw cut-up metallic future disco of 'Ullumunum,' passing through the deeper shade of techno on 'Torquemada' and 'Niaruna,' to the uplifting melody and hooks of 'Dowg Disease.'"

Artist: NEWWORLDAQUARIUM
Title: New Religion Presents Newworldaquarium
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 116EP
Originally released in 2005. "The mysterious Newworldaquarium is one of New Religion's favourite contemporary electronic music producers. Leaving no influence unturned, he sounds like no other. NWAQ has a history of quality electronic music. Starting out on the legendary Dutch label Eevo Lute Muzique as Ross154, various projects for Peacefrog and Delsin soon followed. Fans of his work include the mighty Carl Craig, who licensed his much sought after Trespassers EP on Delsin for his own Planet E label, also using these tracks on his much lauded The Workout mix CD. NWAQ also appears on New Religion's ART records compilation named The Electric Institute. A suitable home for such a fine individual artist, we think."

Title: The Electric Institute
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $24.00
Catalog #: REG 118CD
Originally released in 2005; one of the great techno music comps of all time, highlighting the mid-90s work of Kirk Degiorgio's ART label. "New Religion have joined forces with legendary UK electronic label, Applied Rhythmic Technology (ART), to bring you this very special project. In this joint release, New Religion combines new exclusive tracks from legends of the scene with fresh new talent to bring you 12 exclusive and unique works of A.R.T. Original ART-artists As One (Kirk Degiorgio) and Balil (Ed from Plaid) bring fresh new tracks, while a special treat from the vaults is in store from Neuropolitique & Derrick May and Carl Craig (as 69). They are joined by Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, Domu, Stacey Pullen, Newworldaquarium and Ian O'Brien - resulting in a definite future classic. Also featured is a bonus ART classic - the rare Mayday mix of Neuropolitique's 'Artemis.' For the first time available on vinyl! All tracks on this album are pearls on their own, from the more raw funk-oriented things by Domu and Stacey Pullen, to the deep electronic freakiness by Shake, 69 and newworldaquarium and a perfect end to the journey comes with Ian O'Brien and Kirk Degiorgio, teaming up as Super-A-Loof to bring back the best memories to Derrick May gems as his remix of Inner City's 'Praise' and 'Icon.' The Electric Institute is probably the most ambitious techno compilation to be put together since the days of the Virgin Detroit comps, Virtual Sex and Artificial Intelligence." Artists: Balil, Domu, Beetlejuice, Blue Binary, As One, Newworldaquarium, Kirk Degiorgio, 69, Neuropolitique, Shake, Stacey Pullen, Super-A-Loof.

Artist: DOMU/STACEY PULLEN

Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 118EP
Originally released in 2005. Full 12" versions of 2 tracks off the CD (not on the LP version). "New Religion teams up with Kirk Degiorgio's legendary ART imprint to release an off-the-cuff, limited edition 12" from Stacey Pullen & Domu! This is a sampler for the Electric Institute LP and CD, which feature tracks from Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, 69 (Carl Craig), Kirk Degiorgio & Ian O Brien, Balil and also a super hot Mayday remix of Neuropolitique! 'Liquid Letter' by Stacey Pullen has some almost Drexciyan moments, before launching itself into a lush Detroit hybrid of techno and house styles. Domu's 'Quarantine' track could be likened to some of Carl Craig's more broken beat based productions."

Artist: DEGIORGIO, KIRK
Title: Circuits Fading EP
Label: NEW RELIGION (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: REG 123EP
Originally released in 2005. "Kirk's place in UK electronic music history is well documented. His label Applied Rhythmic Technology started in the late '80s and brought the world early works from intergalactic stellar luminaries; Carl Craig, the UK's Black Dog, Photek, Neuropolitique, Stasis and more. Early A.R.T. releases are in high demand with collectors, and as always, it is a pleasure for New Religion to help continue the legacy of one of the UK's most admired electronic musicians. We are very pleased to bring you the return of one of Kirk's lesser known monikers, Elegy on this EP. Almost dormant since A.R.T 7.2 (Elegy featured on the Soul of Science comps), 2 tracks on the flip announce their stunning return, the first tracks for over 10 years."
