Artist: MARZENIT, MARC
Title: Trozitos de Navidad EP
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: PARAD 001EP
"Marc Marzenit is a young man in his twenties from Mollerusa, Lleida & one of the sensations of the moment in the electronic Spanish scene. Required by the most well known clubs and festivals owing to his superb and eclectic live, where the most pounding minimal to the most sturdy techno fits in. This wide sound range is the one we can just appreciate in Trozitos de Navidad, his first EP that has been brought out through Paradigma Musik. This EP is made up with three cuts. Lke the Border Community's minimal tech house progressive (do not misunderstand, Marc doesn't want to reassemble to nobody), but from the techno point of view it's quite close to Detroit or even the very best times of Scandium or Kanzleramt. Hypnotic techno following the style of Paul Kalkbrenner or Robert Babicz and with melancholic beams makes it compatible with minimal progressive house or whatever the selector wishes. Marzenit highlights in his ability to agglutinate thousands of styles in hardly six or seven minutes."

Artist: RITCH, PAUL
Title: Higher
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: PARAD 002EP
"Paradigma Musik bet again on the young values of the electronic music club scene on their second release. After the success achieved with the first one, by the promising young Spaniard producer Marc Marzenit, it's now the moment for the French fellow Paul Ritch, who comes out with Higher, made up of three tracks. It is only his second work, after his first one on the well-known German label Resopal Schallware: Grom EP, a vinyl that is already in the sets of many main DJs. He is also preparing releases with labels such as Get Physical Music and MiniSketch. 'Higher,' whose name refers to the album is driven by both the most dancefloor tech house and the most melodic minimal. It has also a sample vocal letting the track open for all kind of DJs, without leaving for that reason the composite quality aside. Even more melodic is 'Memory,' a cut with all the makings of a hypnotic hit and a remarkable acid flavor moving from the past to the present of dance music with unusual agility, tiptoeing around the most progressive sounds and even around the percussive minimal house that sounds so much lately. It will create a buzz, sure. Finishing up, 'Blowbass' clears the remarkable work of Paul with a track that hides under a false electro house look to become gradually in an efficient winding and surrounding piece of tech house, an ideal fit for quality sound system."

Artist: COLLINS, ANTHONY
Title: Pop-off EP
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: PARAD 003EP
"Anthony Collins, a French artist who although being only twenty-three years old, gathers an amazing background in labels such as Players Paradise, Criminal Rec. or Infant. Now he settles down in Paradigma with this 'Pop-off E.P.,' which means another style turnaround for Paradigma Musik, the third one, that shows again their wish not to be stuck in any specific sound. The track that names the maxi bets on digital house, full of melody and with minimal cadenza, showing that repetitive rhythms don't have to be cold at all. This fact is confirmed by Ludovic Vendi's remix, another French fellow who we all know from his superb maxis with Dialect, Gourmet or Was Kids. Vendi contributes with more strength and hypnotism to the melody, giving more dance floor consistency. The next two tracks completing this release are: 'Chocopistache,' launched as a more introspective, melodic and evocative track. Perfect to end sessions or to start a long set full of vanguard sounds. 'Face It,' dancefloor-focused and intimate, we believe it is going to be ideal for DJ's who go one step beyond when choosing their vinyls, always with a fair ratio between quality and quantity. Just like Paradigma. Anthony Collins is Paradigma's future gamble. Marc Marzenit and Paul Ritch were the first ones, the list keeps growing up, so does Paradigma."

Artist: VENDI, LUDOVIC
Title: Changes EP
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: PARAD 004EP
"Ludovic Vendi, a Frog who's been seen croaking for quite a while now in the muddy marshlands of Barcelona, is the maker of Changes EP. In it he appears surrounded by a bunch of talented friends who have made themselves a name in production. True, Vendi himself nowadays needs little publicity. The connoisseurs of today's electronic dance have already savoured his former releases with Players Paradise, Criminal or Dialect Rec. some of whom too have already worked with another Paradigma man, Anthony Collins. In his new release, Ludovic enchants us with three remarkable tracks. First one, 'A Real Word,' co-signed with an oldie of our trade, an English artist, Alex Ward, clearly bends towards a minimal progressive techno house pretty much in the vein of Border Community and especially of James Holden, with arpeggios remindful of the Briton's unmistakable style and a series of atmospheres impregnated in the halo of the driving tune. Quite wicked to let you slide over to the dancefloor."

Artist: MONOMACHINE
Title: CLT
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: PARAD 005EP
"The fashion couple of the international electronic scene can be found in Paradigma after quite a few references from labels such as 2nd Room, A.D. Limited, Catwash or Immigrant. The Spanish Ińigo Oruezábal, one of the most respected selectors in Spain and the young Chilean Francisco Allendes, a promising producer who also launches these days his own record company, Andes Music, form this couple. They focus all their efforts towards a minimal tech house both intelligent and full of rhythm. Music for dancing with body and soul, something Paradigma is really fond of. CLT starts with a homogeneous cut, and it is able to stir the whole dancefloor up. Progression, a pinch of acid and short sounds which twist time and again compose a melody going from the bottom to the top, from hell to heaven. Minimal with body but also with soul. On the other hand, 'SLT' moves towards a current tech house, with Latin percussion (don't misinterpret the word Latin) giving place to a twisted melody."

Artist: VENDI, LUDOVIC
Title: Limbo EP
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: PARAD 007EP
"After distinguishing himself in the past two years with different references in labels such as Was Kids, Dialect or MiniSketch, Ludovic Vendi comes back home, to Paradigma Musik, one of the labels which strongly bet on him when this young French talent settled in Barcelona was only known by a few people. Limbo EP is his new release in 12" format: wise tech house directed to the dancefloor from the label Vendi. 'Limbo,' in its original form is a sort of techno house bible edited in 2008, full of minimal nuances, really catchy, and with one of those melodies which not only stick to one's feet, but also to one's head. An intelligent dance, as before stated. A notorious four-wheel exercise beyond vulgarity which often rule this kind of track. In addition, it is strengthened by two other remixes which reassert our opinion. The first remix is signed by the French Paul Ritch, friend and countryman of Ludovic and one of the names in the international club scene thanks to his work at Resopal or Get Physical. Henry Saiz, born in Madrid, who made the label's former reference, brings to the second remix more epic and hypnotic airs, definitely more trance and making its melody the indisputable main character of this remake."

Artist: HERLIHY, GAVIN
Title: Okay No Disco
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: PARAD 008EP
"Irish of origin, Londoner of adoption and now settled in Berlin, the DJ, producer and sometime music journalist Gavin Herlihy makes his debut release for Paradigma Musik. After the success of his debut Machine Ate My Homework on Mood Music and the excellent reception by DJs and press alike of his recent EP on Get Physical offshoot Kindisch (the Luciano/Loco Dice/DJ T-championed Opium Haze), we now launch the Okay No Disco EP. Gavin shows us again, that today, when the end of the minimal age is predicted, he collages house and techno into his own sound. With 'Okay No Disco,' Herlihy creates a peak time slice of tech-house built around dancefloor-driving moments that alternate between marching snares and club-rocking hoover-style synths all tied together by a hypnotic, arpeggiating hook. Its addictive melodies take a change of rhythm in the third minute, before dropping into the original melody that echoes the trance of the mid-1990s before the genre was ruined by superclubs and superclub DJ egos. It's a perfect compliment to the Paradigma melodic sound set in stone. 'Sink Or Swim' provides the flipside release, but is by no means just another filler B-side. Built around a nagging melody that evolves throughout the track, its rolling snare-propelled beats echo shades of classic techno rhythms like Minimalman's 'Make A Move.' The hook is a return to the driving techno approach taken on 'Machine Ate My Homework' that erupts into a series of peaktime moments in which the signature melody stamps its mark indelibly on your brain."

Artist: CHRISTOPH/LUDOVIC VENDI, RONALD
Title: Limbo Remixed
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: PARAD 009EP
"A little boy. Not eating ice cream. Not playing. He likes to stay still. He spies on people. As he watches closer, he thinks of random words he doesn't even understand. Thinks empty shells, unnecessary actions, wild animals, insecurity, confusion, ingenuity, cruelty, competition, stupidity and even a little love. He stands up from his hiding place and finally goes to buy an ice cream, and crosses a mirror left on a sidewalk. Notices something new, something clear, hidden in his reflection. Can you see beauty in a white hair on an eleven year old? Stares at it for a while with a big proud smile ... and forgets about the ice cream."
