"Podium is Len Faki's second sublabel on Len Series and closely connected with his residency at Berlin club Berghain. Each release follows a call-and-response pattern between the featured artist's exclusive tracks and Len Faki's opposing track or remixes. The first to show up is Oliver Ho, who, after establishing himself as one of the most creative electronic music producers (on Blueprint, Meta, Light&Dark) has recently explored more minimalistic ways of expression under the name of Raudive (on Klang). This new approach meets the philosophy of Podium which calls for a rediscovery of techno's electronic side: profound and refined, with versatile use of sparse but intense ingredients."

"Shinedoe, who with her 2004 debut
Dilemma
(on 100% Pure), instantly accomplished what others never achieve: respect and support by the likes of Väth, Hawtin and Villalobos. Her style: straightforward, strictly functional Detroit techno -- with an essential and effective touch of soul. We catch a glimpse into the near future with her track 'Amsterdam Meets Berlin.' Here, she does what she's best at. She uniquely creates atmosphere with just one chord, relying on the power of harmonies. But watch out. When the dreamlike vibe leads to a sudden change of keys, we're all puppets on her strings. Len Faki responds with 'Rumpelkammer' which translates into 'junk room.' The title also plays with the notion of rumbling, as the deep bass goes without an audible kick for the initial minutes. The track darts like an arrow in the sky, with a straight groove and breaks reduced to severe cuts. The seemingly uncoordinated sound shuffle culminates in a sly and cunning arrangement of hi-hats, loops, and delays. The result: a magnetic club track."

"Following the appearance of Brooklyn's Afternoon Coffee Boys (Tony Rohr and Tim Xavier) at Len Faki's Berghain-based Podium night, here comes Podium 3: another stab at techno's electronic side, as sparse as it is smashing. The three adventurers ride on a space ship, drop some acid and save a brave sheep. On 'Marriot Acid,' the banging punctuated bass meets tonal elements with a mysteriously hypnotic melody. All leads into a noise-inflicted break where groovy hi-hats take it to the starkly contrasted funky second part. Tony doesn't talk 303 but shows here how to exploit the feeling. 'Astral Plane' is a consistent voluminous effort from the very start. The contrast here is between the bulging underlying soundscape, fidgety beats and threatening noises. Like a massive space ship attacked by the equivalent of sharks. No place for cheap effects but ingenious and sinister arrangements. Sci-fi for the 21st century. Then Len Faki rages on. His bass sounds like an insane butcher cutting chops by the dozen. A psychedelic fanfare announces the first break where all implodes. Monstrous but groovy."

"Each release on Len Faki's Podium imprint is linked to a special club night at Berlin's Berghain. Resident Len Faki clubs together with a personally-cherished producer. Following Oliver Ho, Tony Rohr, Tim Xavier and Shinedoe, this season's guest is 2000 And One from Amsterdam. Carving out the house-y face of Detroit techno, he bursted right into club music's eye of the storm. 'Work (Late Nite NYC Mix)' is just the type of track that was always missing in your record case. Where other contemporary house tracks dissolve the tension with superfluous sounds, 2000 And One's production has a striking, efficient economy. He condenses the uplifting nature of this style of music: with the compellingly humble bassline and the restrained fanfare, New York house sparkles in its most basic beauty. It is music that cultivates simplicity as an art form. 'Odyssee I' is the first part of Len Faki's techno epic. The track stretches over thirty minutes and develops over countless stages and phases. It will be released in three parts: 'Part I' appears on this release. 'Odyssee' invites you to lose yourself in the twists and turns of this sonic voyage. Few producers are as determined as Faki to leave the boundaries of contemporary club music behind."
