"Set up in 2009 by Heath Looney[EHL]. Pushing Red was established to blur the lines of dubstep & techno and inject the scene with something different! Carefully selecting artists we feel can bring a new flavour to the sound and have the same ethos we have! Coming off outstanding releases on Applepips, Naked Lunch & Tube10, Justin Shields (aka Jus Wan) has agreed to grace us with a release and we love him for it! The labels first release sees Jus Wan taking things adventurous and deep! 'Azure' starts off with warm crackles and melodies before it launches into a steppy, shuffled monster! Gorgeous synths and melodies ride of top creating a uplifting vibe while the deep bass and subs propel the track way down! On the flip we see things go a more electronic feel reminiscent of a Detroit flavour. Once again, punchy drums & pulsating bass keep the momentum going while analogue effects and bleeps sit perfectly on top!"

"Known in many circles of dubstep and similar styles as one of the hottest up and comers, DJG has graced us with one of, we think, his best releases to date. Both sides show his diversity and versatility as a producer and musician. A San Francisco native, DJG has been releasing music on many acclaimed labels, building his reputation and forging ahead with his unique take on dubstep. A. 'Avoid The Noid' - From the start, the listener is propelled into the pure energy of this track. A steady 4/4 kick drum keeps the momentum along with scattered snares. A deep, bouncy bassline pulls everything together in style along with twinkling keys and a nice short vocal. Dubsteppers who like their music with a techno tinge will love this along with some tech-house listeners. A great piece of energetic music! AA. 'Duality' - One of our favorite tunes we've heard in a long time and we are very proud to be releasing it. A minimal intro leads into a punchy snare that slaps you across the face while the drum fill in between keeps things interesting. A huge sub bassline will keep any sound system on its toes. This tune is all about patience and the build up to a vocal that sits so well, it's hard to imagine a tune around like it at the moment. A piece of music you just have to hear to believe!"

"With the success of Pushing Red's first two releases, we decided we would step things up with remixes from the scene's top producers in their respected genres. Both F & Headhunter need no introductions, fusing unique ideas and production values when it comes to dubstep and techno. These two remixes showcase both style and class in a way that only F & Headhunter can pull off and we are truly honoured to have them involved. Kicking things off is F with an outstanding recreation of Jus Wan's already classic 'Azure.' A sneaking intro builds on the original pads before dropping into a steady snare. Growling bass slowly sneaks into the picture and drops into a perfect blend of rough and smooth. F has taken an already great tune and kept the integrity of the original, while giving it his own signature flavour. Classic remix!"

"Longtime producer and innovator ASC steps to Pushing Red with two fantastic pieces of Detroit-tinged techno. He's well known in many circles for his wonderful drum & bass releases which more recently have brought him success on such labels Exit, Nonplus and his own Auxilary. He is also known for other tempos and this release is pure evidence that he is just as deadly in this realm as his drum & bass! 'Advent,' punishing 4/4 kicks things off before distorted, crushing bass and effects propel this monster into Detroit territory! While this tune is a monster, everything is perfectly layered and everything within the tune makes sense. Reverbed keys and delayed effects pull everything together! Definitely one for the fans who like their beats with a little teeth! 'The Glow' harks back to the glory days of Warp Records and mid 90's techno & electronic. A subtle 4/4 keeps the momentum going while the bassline could work out any sound system. Lush keys and pads sit perfectly on top creating that wonderful melodic and nostalgia feel! Definitely one for fans of deeper, melodic techno!"
