"R8 Records is a dubstep and grime label that comes straight out of Sheffield! A: 'Root Off All Evil' - This viney and roots monster tune uniquely ties UK dubstep beats with one of the original reggae veterans, Lone Ranger. Rouge's moving instrumental matches perfectly with the rolling lyrics of one of dancehall's originators. Big up to Ire Hi-Fi for licensing the vocal on this one. Mary Anne Hobbs: 'this is such a bad man tune.' B1: 'Big Up from Sheff' - The smooth flow of the A-side is dramatically contrasted by this edgy, raspy track. With vocals sampled direct from the streets of Sheff, this warbling stormer is a dancefloor filler and killer. B2: 'Soul Music' - Again showing a different style, Rogue explores a deeper vibe with a 4/4 beat as the back bone. This one lulls you in and then explodes with ferocious bass. 'Big Beat!' --Kode 9."

"The Very Dangerous EP is the second vinyl produced by Rogue State. The A-side is 'Very Dangerous' featuring record-breaking (world fastest rapper) veteran Daddy Freddy, this track is quirky, but still very dark. On the other side is 'Wiked 'N' Bad,' a grimey one with a unique vocal hook provided by 14 year-old Sheffield MC Road Runner and a gnarly and gravel-soaked bass line. One for the hardstep lovers. Also on the second side is 'Bouncestep,' perhaps Rogue's daftest tune to date which compels ravers to dance like chickens. 'Nuff said."

"After the success of R8004 produced by RSD, R8 Records are back with another new producer and the return of label owner Rogue State. The Sheffield-Germany connection has never been stronger! Rogue State - 'Logical Regression.' Another meaty slab of Rogue's own niche influenced dubstep style, this track was influenced by the mighty LTJ Bukem. Rogue is on top form here with depth and emotion created through the synthy intro whilst the tear-out drop will get anyone moving. Twisted - 'Infect.' Hailing from Germany and part of the Dutty Dubs crew, Twisted is starting to make a real impact on the international scene. The super slick mixdown is what first attracted us to him but it was this phenomenally heavy weight track that made us decide to release Twisted. Bass face time!"
