Artist: ZOMBY
Title: Liquid Dancehall/Strange Fruit
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 011EP
"Please note this is rereleased due to demand. First pressed in 2008. From behind a heap of rotting flesh, and adorned with gold chains and vintage Gucci, Zomby appears with his third onslaught on the human race. With 'Spliff Dub' still so disturbingly clear in or minds, Zomby then swiftly moved on to infect Glasgow's Aqua-Crunk hero Rustie, storming through the Hyperdub office, and leaving Kode 9 with the biggest 12" he has seen all year. With hands still bloody, and armed with only a Macbook, a tape delay, and a stack of Gameboys, the world has only been subjected to a taste of the horrors to come. On Liquid Dancehall, Zomby teaches us a lesson in minimal dubstep. He strips everything back to just drums, speaker destroying sub bass, 8bit FX, and lets the groove ride out. Blurring the lines between dubstep, electro and minimal, 'Strange Fruit' sounds like Mala trying to speak in binary to Kraftwerk while they snort colours and pixels off a model's tits. Zomby has recently stormed a South London studio and infected Burial. A collaboration between the two is happening as we speak.DJ support coming from Sinden, Mary Anne Hobbs, Kode 9, Paul Devro (Mad Decent), Boy 8 Bit, Drop The Lime, Hudson Mohawke, Fake Blood, DJ Touche/Black Ghosts, Rustie & Marlow!"

Artist: CLOUDS
Title: Timekeeper
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: RAMP 013EP
"They are from Finland. Their names are Tommi and Samuli. They are called Clouds. They have releases out on Argon, 2nd Drop, and Noppa. Their new tune is called 'Timekeeper.' 'Timekeeper' sounds like Four Tet flicking Augustus Pablo with a wet towel infected with SARS, then both eventually being wrestled to the floor and given a sensuous massage by a naked and fully-aroused Pete Rock. Tommi and Samuli like hip-hop from L.A. They asked Ras G to remix 'Timekeeper.' Ras G is Flying Lotus' best buddy. Ras' favorite things include weed, Marcus Garvey, cheap samplers, and the continued misuse and abuse of low frequencies. His reconstruction of 'Timekeeper' inhabits the B-side. DJ support comes from Kode9, Flying Lotus, and the usual suspects."

Artist: BUCKFASTER, TAZ
Title: Murda Skank
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: RAMP 014EP
"Eyes glazed, nose running with a mixture of blood and amphetamines, curled-up lip, Taz Buckfaster emerges from a sea of Iron Brew to crush all who stand before him like some Scottish parallel world Godzilla. This hooligan has been causing trouble on the streets of Glasgow for years, being pivotal in the city's grime scene, and counts emcee Durrty Goodz, and wonk hop pin-up boys Rustie and Hud Mo amongst his BFFs. Taz has put on his dubstep head, mashing a worrying combination of influences from Altern 8 to Guns 'n' Roses to Dr. Dre together in a thoroughly disturbing way. As a result, Mary Anne Hobbs has pretty much hammered everything this troublemaker has committed to HD, and current scene hypees Rustie and Starkey have been keeping Taz tunes in their secret weapons box and reducing audiences to a sticky mess across the planet. Now Taz has been let loose on the general public."

Artist: ZOMBY
Title: The Lie
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: RAMP 015EP
"Zomby rises from the dead once again to deliver his second full 12" on the world altering Ramp Recordings, so brace yourselves for another meander down brain-spazz avenue. On 'The Lie,' Zomby jacks vocal samples with contempt, and strips everything back to distorted mid-range drones, a lazy half step beat, and a rattling bassline. Flip it over for blissed-out duppy bass line voodoo house-step fiend 'Dripping Like Water.' Finally, LV's electronical dub infused rendition of The Lie brings this 12" to a happy ending like a cheap massage. Artwork on this 12" is by the wonderful Kate Moross. It's well, Jackson!"

Artist: DECLAIME & FLYING LOTUS
Title: Whole Wide World
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 016EP
"So, you think you have a hard life? You don't know hardship. Imagine having to deal with a severe bi-polar personality disorder. Not only this, but you are also the vestal chosen by God to be his voice on earth. Can you even begin to imagine that kind of pressure? Well this is what Declaime has to go through every single day. Not only does he deal with all of this, but he also manages to be a crazy-voiced West Coast badass emcee. To add even more pressure, the trendiest beat-monger of current times, Stephen 'Flying Lotus' Bingley has laced said emcee with his best beats since 1983. 2009 starts here."

Artist: COMPUTER JAY
Title: Distance/Epiphany
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 10"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 017EP
"In the late '70s, a young boy was surgically attached to an Atari 2600 using primitive medical procedures by the U.S. government, and then hidden in a massive conspiracy thing like what happens in films and stuff. Upon hearing his plight, we found that boy, who is now a man, and he has only gone and made some tunes!"

Artist: FALTYDL
Title: To London
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 018EP
"NYC resident FaltyDL mashes garage, hip hop & IDM together until they form a thick, silky paste, and spatulas it into your ears. Garage has travelled back to New York City, and it's more fucked up than ever. NYG starts here. DJ support comes from Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B, Martyn, Kode 9, Oneman, Zomby, Blackdown, Brackles."

Artist: VA
Title: Skweee Tooth
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 019CD
"Picture this: Sweden, 2004, a desolate wasteland devoid of funk. A number of Swedish alcoholics joined forces and cheap synths to make a new brand of Scandinavian electronic funk, or SKWEEE. What is this new kind of music I hear you ask?! The original skweee label, Flogsta Danshall have been drafted in for a split release by the trend setting and current general all round top label Ramp Recordings, in the form of Skweee Tooth. Skweee Tooth drafts in all of skweee music's top producers from the label that started off the whole phenomenon to give you very lucky people a taste of the R n' B/electro/hip hop hybrid that is skweee. Flogsta Danshall was founded in a very small scale in 2004 as the first label releasing what later would be named skweee or Scandinavian-electronic-funk. Alongside Finnish Harmönia, they´ve lately built up a scene of their own based mostly of hardware liveshows and 7" vinyls. Flogsta Danshall won the first ever skweee sound clash at Sonar 2008. There are nowadays numerous Skweee acts doin' their thing. Among the producers, we find familiar people from bands such as Imatran Voima, Mr Velcro Fastener and Canadian Slow Hand Motëm. Finnish Skweee-label Harmönia released their first records 2006 and new labels like Norwegian Dødpop and French Disques Mazout has recently released their first vinyls. With US, UK, French and Spanish producers, the Skweee music is no longer only a local phenomena limited to Finland and Sweden."

Artist: HOT CITY
Title: Hot City Bass/Sweat
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 10"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 020EP
"Due to their unfeasible low attention spans, and bored of trawling the earth looking for new human producers, the friendly people at Ramp opened their cybernetic research department, to create new and exciting robotic producers. First, they made a rave robot, which predictably they grew bored of. They then went on to make a 2step robot, which again, they grew bored of. Upon realizing that cybernetics and robotics was not the way to feed the void boredom created, they disguarded their robots in the ditch behind the office. The two robots began talking, and quickly sparked up a friendship. One night after drowning their sorrows with many Peach Daiquiri's, the two robots fell into each other's arms and had hot drunken robot sex, and rave robot fell pregnant. Nine months later, there was a tap on the Ramp Recordings back door, followed by the patter of robot feet running away. Upon opening the door, they saw a basket containing a robot child and a note, which read: 'This is Hot City.'"

Artist: SLUGABED
Title: Gritsalt/Let's Go Swimming
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 021EP
"Meet Slugabed. He is a 12-year-old boy from Bath, and he does not like to get out of bed. On occasion, he is known to sleepwalk, and urinate on things. When he does manage to drag himself out of bed, Sluga spends most of his days repeatedly banging his face against musical equipment until it's a bloody pulp. His parents have had enough. Ramp Recordings has decided to come to the rescue of young Sluga's parents, and adopt this problem child... OH SNAP!! We didn't mention 'wonky' once!!"

Artist: ZOMBY
Title: One Foot Ahead Of The Other EP
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: RAMP 022CD
"Once upon a time, there was a band called The Cure, who had a front man named Robert Smith. Robert was an emotional being, who was always looking to test his boundaries and search out new experiences. After touring Germany in the early '80s with his band of eyeliner encrusted over-emotional Goth-men, Robert began a non-sexual but intensely intimate relationship with Florian Schneider, front man of electro forefathers, Kraftwerk. The unlikely couple decided to experiment with the then new science of gene splicing. After a few horrific failed attempts, they finally managed to successfully cross their DNA into the vessel of a baby boy. Months passed, and it became disturbingly apparent that the two men, who at the time were at the peak of their careers, had created a being of pure evil. They decided to enlist the help of the 4'2 purple sex-pest Prince to drown the young baby in a sea of colours and tears, and try as hard as they can to move on with their lives alone, ever trying to forget the horrific experiences the child had graced upon their lives. For many years, the baby's soul circled the earth, crying pixels and watching women get undressed in locker rooms and stuff, for he is just a soul, and invisible to the human eye, and can get away with that kind of thing. The child found out there was a way to come back from the dead in some kind of Hellraiser type puzzle themed ritual, and hark, the boy (who was now a man) did indeed rise from the dead, and yes, he did once again walk the earth with the sole intent of wrong-doing. That boy is Zomby, and this is his new CD."

Artist: SHORTSTUFF
Title: A Rustling
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 023EP
"Hailing from a sect of French God-fearing refugees, Shortstuff is generally a nice lad, but hides a jaded past of taunting old couples, purely for his own amusement. DJ support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Erol Alkan, Sinden, Diplo, Oneman, Mumdance, Clouds, Brackles."

Artist: RAS G AND THE AFRIKAN SPACE PROGRAM
Title: Destination There EP
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 024EP
"Ras G returns to Ramp, after his extrasolar remix of Clouds' 'Timekeeper' and output on BFF Flying Lotus' digital-only Brainfeeder label, with a fresh EP of speaker-popping rasta-flecked hip hop sickness. Residing in the left coast, Ras has been godfather to the new post-Dilla instrumental hip hop movement, releasing various vinyl releases on his own Poobah label as far back at 2005. Being one of the most innovative and crazy characters in the scene, Ras' dusty bass humps are still bringing the realness in a massively stagnant field."

Artist: FALTYDL
Title: Party
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RAMP 025EP
"FaltyDL returns to Ramp after the painfully deep To London, and his acclaimed Love Is A Liability album on some other label earlier this year, with a new 12" of sleazy 2step vibes. 'Party' gets things moving with DL's most organic production to date, resonating in your brain like the jaded memory of an uncomfortable lap dance from an impromptu trip to the future. Flip the wax for the warm fuzzy minimal garage vibes of 'Alpafun,' a tune that Mr. Lustman hates so much, he never wanted it to see the light of day. Just to spite the cocky New Yorker, we are putting it out."

Artist: DUNBAR, MAXMILLION
Title: Bare Feet EP
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 026EP
"Maryland resident Maxmillion Dunbar caught our attention on a desperately limited 7" last year on his own Future Times imprint. Swerving the current contrived reference points, B-Boy Max forges his own path mixing a kaleidoscope of boogie, electro, hip hop & analog soul. Max's first EP for Ramp starts with 'Bare Feet' clipping sparse soul loops with epic flourishes, 'Loveloop/Socket Bonus' marrying cascading synths and 808's, 'Wouldn't Matter' chops up a relentless boogie loops and epic disco strings, and 'WAVs' draws the EP to a close with '80s beat boxes and ramshackle synth lines."

Artist: DESTO
Title: Disappearing Reappearing Ink/Broken Memory
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 027EP
"Meet Desto. We found him wandering the streets of Helsinki, eating canned tuna and drinking the water from a tin of hot dogs, desperately clutching armfuls of sticky future garage. Starting off in spacey 2-step rhythms, falling over bassline, and breaking down into a euphoric 8-bit cascade, the epic 'Disappearing Reappearing Ink' finally reaches wax after being in the boxes of pretty much everybody all year. On the flip, 'Broken Memory' was given its first exclusive airing by Oneman on Radio 1 to much acclaim, and takes more of a straight up approach, and retains all of the fluid C64 chip-tune beauty. DJ support from Rob Da Bank, Oneman, Brackles, Sinden, Floating Points, Clouds, and Mary Anne Hobbs."

Artist: COMPUTER JAY
Title: Maintain
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 028EP
"Computer Jay returns to Ramp after the massive Distance/Epiphany 10" earlier this year, with Maintain. Now if you don't know, Jay is an L.A. resident, and part of the collective that includes Flying Lotus, Ras G, Gaslamp Killer, y'all know the names. Jay's best friend is a computer, surprisingly named Computer. Computer is a wise cracking collection of circuit boards, and enjoys spitting crazy verses over Jay's synth-heavy beats. Maintain is their first collaboration that has reached wax, and boy, you better brace yourselves! Ascending analog flourishes scattered over Jay's minimal beats, giving Computer room to do his thing. Jay's epic production packs more into 3-and-a-half minutes than most producers can cram into ten. True to form, we have drafted an unrivaled array of remixers in for the project. Ramp's best boy Falty DL is first up, and gives us an edgy and uncomfortable edit in his unique garage-not-garage style. Upstanding member of the community, and all round lovely chap Mike Slott, steps out of his comfort zone with some euphoric basslined hip hop badness. Ikonika brings the project to its conclusion with a hands-in-the-air, wonky, broody tech-step rendition. DJ Support From Mary Anne Hobbs, Oneman, Clouds, Alex Nut, Kode 9."

Artist: CLOUDS
Title: Timekeeper (Dave Aju Remix)
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 029EP
"Very limited one sided 12" release from Ramp Recordings. Clouds' 2008 clockwork garage masterpiece gets re-worked by Matthew Herbert's Accidental signee Dave Aju. What more do you need to know?"

Artist: TOKIMONSTA
Title: Cosmic Intoxication
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: RAMP 030EP
"With the likes of Gilles, Benji and Mary Anne already eating out of the palm of her hand, it's hard to believe this is Tokimonsta's debut EP. She has been trailblazing her boom bap-come-glitch addled beats around America for a few years, and recently graduated from the London Red Bull Music Academy. We are pleased to welcome her to the Ramp family, following in the footsteps of fellow L Aliens like Ras G and Computer Jay." Amazing artwork by acclaimed Belgium-based graphic designer Elzo Durt.

Artist: SHORTSTUFF & MICKEY PEARCE
Title: Tripped Up/Coconuts
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00

Artist: P.U.D.G.E.
Title: Idiot Box
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: RAMP 032CD
"Although you may not have yet heard his name, P.U.D.G.E. has been bubbling up in U.S. beat scene for many years. At age 9, his father gave him a Bass, a Juno synth, a DX drum machine and a Tascam 4 track. He encouraged the boy to start making his own music; P.U.D.G.E. got the bug. By the time young P.U.D.G.E. (thus called because at school he was always extra medium, or less than chubby) hit 13, he had discovered turntableism, and started DJing at house parties around NYC. By his late teens, he had emerged as a promising emcee, standing next to many of the well-known emcees from the Lyricist Lounge; including Mos Def & El P. Still producing, P.U.D.G.E.'s music was starting to gain attention, and his first beat was released on the Vinyl Junkies debut EP. After hearing about the emerging beat scene in L.A., he moved there in 2004, and started getting a few production credits under his belt, including cuts for Rawkus Records and Stacey Epps. After circulating some of his instrumental beat tapes, interest for P.U.D.G.E. started to gain momentum. P.U.D.G.E. headed up All Cty's L.A. series, on a split 10" with Dibiase, preceeding releases from Ras G, Samiyam & Matthewdavid."

Artist: FAST MOTION
Title: Becoming Real
Label: RAMP (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: RAMP 034EP
"Becoming Real is a young producer residing in a forgotten suburbia, busy channeling his very own post-apocalyptic vision of London. A spectre-like entity flitting between a range of electronic frequencies, his self-termed 'Ghost-Step' sound is as much influenced by a conceptual future dystopia as by luminaries Zomby &Mount Eerie. Re-imagining the iciest of grime synths through a warped K Records aesthetic, Becoming Real has forged a frozen universe that still retains an unequivocally human feel. Charged with future-dread, this is music for seas drowned in oil, tar-coated forest landscapes, and a prophesized world of underwater clubs and haunted dancefloors. After a sold-out debut white label release last year, Becoming Real emerges with the release of 'Fast Motion'/'Jen's Clock', backed with a Scratcha DVA remix of 'Fast Motion'."

Catalog #: RAMP 038LP
"After his Bare Feet EP dropped out of the blue, Max has been delivering track after track to the RAMP offices. 'Cool Water is a straight up trip through me. 'Pretty Please' is on some boogie party fly shit, and the rest of the tracks sort of travel down from there like some DNA, just unraveling all the zones that I go into; 'Sno Mega' is for rollerskates, 'Way Down' is an earth tone blast, 'Girls Dream' is slow ocean disco, 'Rhythm track For Rashied Ali' is a house slam in honor of the illest drummer ever, 'Lemon & Lime' is what happened when I got really into this one Polygon Window song this year. 'Original Soundtrack Flutes' is my new age anthem. And 'Breathe What U Say' lays it all out at the end like some Brian Eno + Cluster meets T-Pain vibe ? just layers and layers of me breathing into a vocoder, dripping away."

Residing on the left coast, Ras is godfather to the post-Dilla instrumental hip-hop movement, releasing various vinyl releases on his own Poobah label as far back as 2005, which were instrumental in the formation of the L.A. beats scene way before a Flying Lotus beat had a sniff of PVC. His dusty beats and booming bass humps are still standing tall in an often-stagnant field. Down 2 Earth is his rawest, most straight-up hip-hop release to date, sewing together dub soundsystem culture into a Donuts style beat-tape format.
