"One of the long lasting members of Germany's techno and house scene, Toni Rios drops this commemorative full length celebrating his 20 years in the business with a long player of new tracks highlighting his long and illustrious history appropriately entitled
Past & Present
. From Toni Rios time during the mid-nineties at the legendary Frankfurt club Omen, he grew up quickly at an early age being one of the most in demand DJ's around the globe. Now it's fall 2009 and he's taken the time to reflect on the past two decades spent DJing and producing. With his new full length
Past & Present
, Toni Rios seizes these years of experience and has successfully found a way to reflect his experiences, influences and moments in this momentous full length. Take the tune 'Can See Your Smile' with it's American tinged house flavor that rolls out in the most charming of ways. 'Ocean Drive' spurs the glory of yesterday's techno sound recalling the best moments of the great G-Man (ex-LFO). The soul of Ron Trent swings unconsciously in the midst of 'White Emotions' while Rios dives into his Spanish roots with the insatiable track 'Incapaz de Parar.' Toni Rios isn't all retro mind you, with 'L.A.D.T', 'A Rosa' and the roller 'Laura' he brings us dead center to today's unclassifiable modern state of creativity where techno and house has converged into a solid groove. An essential document of one of Germany's most beloved and longstanding dance producers."

SOAP 013-1EP
"If a title is still current after ten years, it should be republished. Not a citation but just a declaration, which fits perfectly the album being negotiated. Even after ten years, 'Mushrooms' has not lost its flair. To re-launch Soap Records, the original 'Mushrooms' along with three refined remixes distributed on two maxis have been reissued. The first maxi featured among the original version also a remix by Toni Rios and Andre Walter. The duo produced together already in the '90s and along with Chris Liebing they brought Soap Records to life. Also, they published the Traveller project at the legendary label Harthouse. Two years ago, after years of successful involvement with other projects, among others, the Danza Electronica and Stigmata, the two found their way back together to the studio. Their first joint long player is planned to appear next year, after contributions for the recording series on Kompakt. During their deep mix, the vocals of Marshall Jefferson have been changed and the two are now including a straight techno stomper, which goes deep, as the name already perceives it."

SOAP 013-2EP
"The second 12" contains two heterogeneous remixes from Meat vs Einzelkind and Martin Eyerer. On side A, Meat vs Einzelkind head on to new ways. Meat is known as a co-associate of the Freebase Recordstore in Frankfurt. Together with Einzelkind he donated two successful EPs for Get Physical Music. Moreover, the project Einzelkind multi-published solo at the Playhouse and Kindisch, as well as booked its own label La Pena. During the remix ,\\, the spoken vocals have been initially redesigned and an independent bass line inclusive effective ride application has been built. The vocals are not inserted until the middle of it, developing consequently a very individual charm. In comparison, the remix of Martin Eyerer is totally different. Next to the debut album, which appears in today's time at the own Kling Klong Outlet, the Stuttgartian produced, among others, 12"s with Gui Boratto, Oliver Koletzki and Toni Rios. He also earned a great reputation as a remixer. During his development of
Mushrooms
, Martin Eyerer circles discreetly a very close loop to the original, and as soon as Marshall Jefferson's voice silents, a forcing new groove emerges. No one could approach this topic any gentler."

SOAP 014EP
"The second new publication on Soap Records was written by the duo of Alex Flatner & Crazy Erg, who produced two different pieces for Soap. The Munich-based Alex Flatner was at the beginning of the null years, successful and involved with the project Flatner & Ingram, among others, with releases on Black Nation and Paraso. He appeared solo on the label Circle Music. Crazy Erg is primarily known as DJ Urgestein from the Rhein Neckar area. However, he has already published his production skills down to a considerable list of smaller labels. On 'Oriental Dreams,' the two publicize techno in an exceedingly charming way. The bass line marches straight but does not hit the twelve, the melodies are distinctive but not in a weepy trance. Doubtless, a piece made for peak -ime. On the contrary, 'Shisha Deluxe' is based on a groove, carried light-footed by the bass line and the drums. A charming techno-house track, applicable universally."

SOAP 015EP
"The 15th publication of Soap proves that sometimes one must research unusual regions in order to find fine artists. The project called The Mint Frame of Mind derives from Russia, the provincial area of Tscheljabinsk, to be exact. Their piece called 'Frogs With Potatoes And Sour Cream' has been already published several months ago through Forza Records. The two remixes from Toni Rios and the Spanier Javy Union now exclusively appear on vinyl through Soap Records; they published lastly with Pascal Feos on Plain Records. Toni Rios builds a peak time in his remixed techno track, functioning as a bass line spinner. Javy Union decelerates the track discreetly and adds, therefore, a minimal note."

SOAP 017EP
"Through catalogue # 17 we are again introducing a refreshing artist at Soap Records. Gene is from Tel Aviv and migrated to New York in early 2008. The three tracks on this EP indeed mark his very first release, even though the precision of individual sounds rather suggest an old studio stager. The longer side A -- 'Goa Morning' is about a distinctive spotlight with a bass line, as if especially made for the upcoming summer. It is almost needless to mention, that at least by the break, a grand art piece will be presented on the dance floor. The absolute contrary is -- 'Finsternis ist tief (Darkness is Deep).' This track is a perfect rave tool! The sound of the sirens can be understood as reminiscence of Mathew Dear's Audion tracks. A second A-side, however, placed here as B1. On the other hand, with the B2-track -- 'Moving Images,' Gene displays his house-side and applies the use of wind instruments in an extremely functional but not cheesy way. A truly diversified first release, prompting the revival of an old radio slogan: Remember where you heard him first. More about this young man soon on this channel."
