Title: Temporary Lid
Label: STATIC CARAVAN (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: VAN 6
Stop! Why buy ANOTHER Skam record when you can buy this single? VERY Skam-like (bits of Gescom's crunchy? beats/electro-tinge, wafting nebulous tonality, lulling repetition...), recorded for another fetishistic English label (the Lithops/ISAN Static Caravan singles? strangely un-available all of the sudden...) by a band with few other releases, all of them highly collectible (their Earworm split single w/Avrocar was in a lathe-cut edition of 150). A nice single, well worth 30 minutes of your time, guaranteed to skyrocket in value (vinyl futures are up on the Dow) before you can say 'geek-tronica'..." --Hrvatski

Artist: CHARLES ATLAS
Title: Felt Cover
Label: STATIC CARAVAN (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: VAN 034CD
"Think Piano Magic polished to within a few helium band widths using a Tony Conrad and La Monte Young polish and a Stanley Kubrick buffer. Drones, noise, space, great tunes; subtle Bridget Riley beats and gentle Anish Kapur strings are all present and correct."

Artist: TOMCATS IN TOKYO
Title: Sweet Gloomy Home
Label: STATIC CARAVAN (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $16.00
Catalog #: VAN 065CD
"Tomcats In Tokyo are Fabrice Rey and Fabrice Marsaud. From the headphone squelching opener 'Fish And Butterflies' to the lush, cavernous spaces of 'Turbid Liquor'. From the crunching breaking glass breaks of orange flickering to the hydraulic punch that is 'Tubular Friends'. It's clear that this is a band broadcasting at a higher frequency than normal. With serious radio play for their last single, a record of the year on the Boomkat site, in fact picked as the record of the year by Isan. Sweet Gloomy Home announces the bands arrival as a full time force to reckon with. A fusion of icy beats with the clicks 'n' brightly colored techno building blocks. As much a Thomas Brinkmann as a Boards Of Canada release the album is verging on warp territory but armed with its own fully animated agenda it fucks with any established genre. An epic, emotive, atmospheric and iridescent beauty we have end product that is anything but formulaic. In short a truly impressive debut album bringing to mind Autechre, Four Tet and Thomas Brinkmann."

Artist: GARDEN
Title: Round & Round
Label: STATIC CARAVAN (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $16.00
Catalog #: VAN 113CD
"Bethnal Green's quiet, community garden is a haven for Simon Lord. Once the frontman of twisted pop quartet Simian, he's now the creative force behind a new psychedelic folk project: Garden. Garden make what could loosely be described as modern folk music. Simon's ear for a good tune that served him so well during the Simian years is still in bountiful supply, as are his distinct vocals. But so too is the lateral approach to production that made Simian far more interesting than just another experimental pop act. This, in part, comes courtesy of fellow Simian conspirator, drummer and producer James Ford (lately of Mystery Jets and Test Icicles fame). Garden released an EP on Trial and Error recordings (the label set up by Simian and friends) to much critical acclaim; '...each Garden song is full of brightly-lit-sunshine morning wonders as Lord demonstrates that he has an innate sense of baroque beauty,' --Flux. 'Exemplary four track EP of exquisite modern folk. Never lapsing into the genre's usual formulae, Garden instead leans towards the future,' --Music Week. Now Garden have found a home on Static Caravan (also home to kindred spirits Tunng) and are ready to unleash their technicolor debut album Round & Round. For fans of Tunng, King Creosote, Adem, Pentangle, Forest, and in fact all things Fence."
