First release on a new label with A&R direction from The Rapture and James Friedman. "Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dances With White Girls has been a musical force in the making since his earliest sonic experiments. The alchemy for this sound happening could be found in grade school drum kits, fledgling rhyme books, block party hits and a booming late 90s hip hop landscape. As a teenager, sounds moved beyond early curiosities and began to form his identity. One fateful night the ingredients came together and Dances saw the future- a 10-hour set by Danny Tenaglia convinced him that he simply needed to make this music. In Dances own words 'Watching Tenaglia, I saw a DJ moving people at the top of his game. I was making music and I wanted the power to move people on that level.' Bringing with him a thick Philly musical pedigree and a newfound supply of New York flash, a string of productions and remixes quickly followed. Work with acts such as Kudu, The Rapture, Team Facelift, Hail Social and The Dead Kids showcased what he had been building since his earliest days. Combining a pounding dark beat with a catchy party vibe; the Dances With White Girls aesthetic spread quickly, far and wide. Likewise DJ sets with heavyweights such as DJ. T, Felix Da Housecat, Busy P and Mstrkft have made Dances a fixture on dancefloors across the city. New Crack Swing is hip hop mentality with house music storytelling. A sound blending raw house and unhinged party anthems. As Dances says himself, from the projects to Pacha, this is thug -house. Not missing a beat, early fans The Rapture were quick to sign him as the first artist on their new imprint Throne of Blood Records. 2nd release from Throne of Blood, the new label run by The Rapture. Steve Moore and A.E. Paterra as Zombi have re-imagined the architecture of progressive rock and dynamic instrumentals. Achieved using only electric bass, drums, and a collection of analog synthesizers, their sound is deceptively lush, considering its two-man ensemble. Here, Zombi display a more dancefloor-oriented side, injecting some Italo disco to their unique brand of instrumental prog. The result is somewhere between Giorgio Moroder and Goblin, Vangelis and Venom 18. Imagine sinister synths, tough, arpeggiated grooves and steady four-to-the-floor rhythms.

Their album, Dunya, sounds a bit like Fela Kuti, Chic and Sidney Bechet getting together to jam at a disco on the Left Bank of the Seine. For this special, ultra-limited release, Throne of Blood presents two mind-blowing remixes of "Be Africa." Forward-looking but deeply rooted, Populette is all about dancefloor energy and analog synths -- deep, druggy, and not for the faint-hearted. That's why it was no surprise to Throne Of Blood when they suggested that perhaps the Wizard himself, Gavin Russom, might be keen to do a remix. Gavin opted for cosmic grandiosity rather than dancefloor impact, turning in a mind-melting 12-minute ambient mix that Populette describes as sounding like Jan Hammer and Klaus Schultze jamming together in arpeggio heaven.

Bicep are a duo from Belfast, brought together through a common obsession with all things analog. After several years and countless DJ gigs, Bicep realized they needed to make their own brand, succumbing to, as Bicep describe it, "house infused '80s analog inspiration." Cosmic Kids Ron Poznansky and Dan Terndrup have cultivated a reputation as one of L.A.'s most exciting DJ duos at parties like the legendary Do-Over and Dam Funk's Funkmosphere. Harkin & Raney present a three tracker of floor-friendly deep house and techno. "Workin And Steamin" sets the vibe with haunting vocals and a chugging deep house groove. Beat Pharmacy is one among several identities employed by Brendon Moeller, known primarily for his extensive explorations of dub techno à la Basic Channel. Percussive without being oppressively banging, melodic without excessive nodding, "Inside Job" and "Comet" nevertheless retain the intense attention to subtle detail that define Moeller's more dubwise productions. "In A Trance In France" takes things into a deeper, more hypnotic realm, and "Hootin & Tootin" toughens things up with an ominous analog bass line and thunderous kick drums.

Like Kreinik's best production and engineering work, "2600 2600" locates the precarious divide between refined pop brilliance and total dancefloor mayhem. On remix duties, Shit Robot brings his signature minimal disco-house touch to the table, and John Selway presents a more straightforward dancefloor approach. Mugwump's "Italo Broadcast" version includes a re-tweaked bassline and warped-and-gauzed vocals.

Daniel Avery is one of the fastest-rising players in the London dance music scene. For this 12", Avery refines his analog aesthetic, achieving a beguiling minimal/maximal tension. Propelled by a thunderous bass drum, "Movement" is serious house music, designed to devastate. "Light Into Dark" operates on a similar tip, while "Flashlights" presents a different take on Avery's subtle sense of melody.
