Title: Freaky Bitches
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $8.00
Catalog #: TB 001EP
"First release to emerge on exciting new label Touchin' Bass, the imprint owned and A&Red by the World renowned Andrea Parker. The lyrics to 'Freaky Bitches' are inspired by and are a not to the Detroit 'Titty Bar' roots of a sound that has inspired Andrea of late. As a long time lover of hip hop and electro her ear was caught by the Miami Bass sound including the Magic Mike remix of 'In Two Minds' from her Mo Wax album Kiss My Arp. Recognising the Ghetto Tech sound pioneered by DJ's Godfather & Assault she teamed up with them whilst in Detroit on tour to record this single. As well as setting up her own label Andrea has collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Steve Reich and has been busy DJing around the globe." Limited stock.

Title: Fear and Lothian
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: TB 020CD
"The labels first solo artist album in the shape of the enigmatic Wee DJs. The aptly named Fear and Lothian features abstract electro and dark menacing beats from one of Scotland's finest electronic producers. By 1997 the 'Being' name had been dropped and The Wee DJs project began. The first release saw Dave feature on The Death of Cool compilation on Si Begg's label Noodles. The next 12" release Wee Killed Him (1999) released through Daz Quayle's SCSI/AV label, featured an electro version of the '80s pop tune 'Fame' and was followed by another 12" on SCSI/AV two years later titled 'Get Wee Soon.' They subsequently went on to release six twelve inches on the Sativae affiliated Gassoline label, and there have been other releases on Scotland's Diskono, Benbecula, and the Dutch Isis Label. Deft production that speaks of artificial intelligence and human soul makes for compelling entertainment here. This is the kind of creativity that reminds us why electronic music can be so exciting. It creates new ideas and emotions while still maintaining the kind of continuity that electro has come to expect."

Title: The Squirm EP
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: TB 021EP
"Ed Devane hails from Ireland and currently lives in Barcelona. The 23 year-old producer has tracks released on Takeover Records (Belfast), and Spacebar Sentiments (Los Angeles). The Squirm EP, suitably named, is four tracks of chaos with brutal, relentless, damaging beats! Ed enjoys making music that isn't designed with aggression or violence in mind, but for creating a sense of paranoia, fear and claustrophobia in the listener."

Artist: SCARLETON
Title: Coron Data
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: TB 022EP
"Andrea Parker's Touchin' Bass label once more piles on the pressure with this cracking electro-hybrid collaboration from established producers Carl Finlow (aka Random Factor/Silicon Scally) and Daz Quayle (Scsi-av), teaming up once more as the mysterious Scarletron. Carl Finlow has worked under the aliases of Random Factor (2020 Vision) Voice Stealer (Subvert) and more recently, Silicon Scally (SCSI, Satamile). First up on the A-side is 'Allegorical,' a twisted slice of electro driven by a muted growl of a bassline, punctuated by vicious industrial stabs. A2 gives us 'Crash Mat,' an electro cacophony of distorted sub bass overlapped with an oscillating synth warble, whilst on the B-side we find 'Coron Data Memory' and 'Maps 1-40' -- a 13-minute plus piece of abstract space-age electronica whose metallic voices, robotic clicks and fierce irregular synths constantly fight for your attention."

Title: Here's One I Made Earlier
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: TB 025CD
"Here's One I Made Earlier is a fine collection of productions from Andrea Parker, recognised as one of the world's leading female electronic artists alongside Ellen Allien and Miss Kittin. The album showcases her keen ear for haunting melody, abstract rhythms, found sounds and subtle atmospheres. Predominantly recorded alongside her long time studio partner, David Morley, this collection of inspirational electronics unveils long deleted and rare lost gems from the vaults of such esteemed labels as K7!, R&S, Infonet and Quatermass. Known for her dark, experimental sets and sublime productions, Parker has pioneered sonic abstraction and electronic beats for some fifteen years now -- 'the grandma of electro!' An avid enthusiast of classic analog synthesizers and drum machines such as the Arp, Serge, Buchla, Fairlights and of course the 808, she chooses them over the current fashion for software. Early on she collaborated on some electronic adventures as Inky Blacknuss (with Alex Knight) producing timeless gems like 'Blacknuss.' Then formed 'Two Sandwiches Short Of A Lunchbox' with David Morley on Apollo/R&S and together they went on to produce the classic EP Angluar Art (Infonet) -- both of which can be heard on this new but old collection. In time she signed to Mo Wax, releasing the singles 'Melodius Thunk,' 'The Rocking Chair,' 'Ball Breaker,' and the full length album Kiss My Arp. Parker's productions have many emotions and sonic textures -- a fact not lost on the film and advertising fraternity who have used tracks from her output extensively. Their uses and users have been diverse, from a track on blockbuster movie Vanilla Sky where Tom Cruise is dancing to 'Too Good To Be Strange' and Patrick Moore's 'Sky At Night' to a documentary on NASA and a mugging crime re-enactment on Richard & Judy."

Artist: ADJ
Title: Dope'ead On A Moped EP
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: TB 026EP
"ADJ, otherwise known as Andy Jaggers, Android, 3 Elements, C.C.U.N.T.S. (with SPY-TEK), Sirius 3 (with John Cranmer), IX, the Lamp and top caner has been around on the scene for a long time now and is certainly not new to Touchin' Bass. His Raw EP was the third release on Touchin' Bass and a favorite with John Peel, whilst he also provided two tracks to the SUBsidence compilation in 2005. Andy has released tracks on labels such as District Six, Millennium, Outside, Touchin Bass, Ai and his own Pyramid Transmissions. Now for the new year Andy delivers four new tracks of freakish frequency abuse. 'Smash Up' starts off with a stripped down beat full of eerie menace before scything strings turn it into a masterful piece of atmospheric electronics. 'Nuva Beat' takes Andy's production even further into the industrial hinterland whilst 'Barhomet' brings a warmer, bass-driven human side to its chattering electro beat. Finally, ADJ builds a strange 'Wobbely' edit that morphs into a deep electro affair that rides off into the dark of the night for a stunning end to another top notch Touchin' Bass sortie."

Artist: NOMADIC
Title: Trek 19
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: TB 030CD
"Nomadic is Cuban artist Alain Hernandez. Not a newcomer to Touchin' Bass, he released a track on the SUBsidence comp a while back called 'Anxiety' -- the title said it all! However, Trek 19 is a collection of unreleased tracks and stories from the vaults that Andrea Parker heard and loved many years ago. It was her job to rescue and release them. In her opinion, they are all timeless gems that needed to be heard. This album features electronic beats of rare beauty, twisted melodies, shimmering broken rhythms, throbbing bass lines and dark volcanic tones. This is a wonderful piece of sound archive footage. Nomadic has also recorded a new artist album which will be coming out on Touchin' Bass later on in the year. On 'Trek 19' Nomadic experiments in an unusual way of song writing. He manages to somehow tell a mysterious story layering broken-down beats, blanked melancholic melodies, glitches, stitches and not to mention bass! From the opening peppered breaks of '27th Ave,' the white noise melody of 'Trek 19' and rolling bass and eerie sonics of 'Overpass' to the ruptured beats of 'K1 Part 2,' down tempo foreboding of 'Locked Doors' and the abstract staccato rhythms of the closing 'Avocado Drive,' Nomadic manages to be both experimental and enchanting at the same time."

Artist: BITSTREAM
Title: The Severed EP
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: TB 034EP
"Long-awaited 4-tracker from the very talented electro contortionists Bitstream. Brothers Steve and Dave Connor have been releasing 12"s as Bitstream since 1998. Using a mixture of analog and digital gear, their music has been influenced by many different styles and appeared on labels like Signal, Modern Love, City Centre Offices and of course, Touchin' Bass. In 2005, a selection of their initial releases was compiled to form their debut album Domestic Economy 7 on Modern Love. Over the last couple of years, apart from their fantastic Depeche Mode remixes, things have been a bit quiet on the Bitstream front, so it's with great pleasure that Touchin' Bass present this latest piece of finery."

Title: Freaky Bitches Remixes (First Installment)
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: TB 035EP
"Andrea Parker's 'Freaky Bitches,' a collaboration with Miami bass innovators DJ Assault and DJ Godfather was the first release to launch the label. Now 'Freaky Bitches' gets worked-over from four heavyweights of today's bass scene. Essential electro tune in update with 5/5 review: 'supreme punk-electro (not the other way around) and it's only the first installment.' Miami's Alpha 606 is the first to step up to the challenge with his 'Perrata' remix. Starting off dark and brooding, the electro beats are interwoven with live drum patterns, percussion and old skool synths, before the stripped breakdown showcases his signature Cuban-influenced style, pressing all the right buttons for the dancefloor. Kero is next up to the podium, with a squelching, relentless monster to finish off the A-side. With over 20 releases on established labels like Ghostly, and Shitkatapult, as well as his own Detroit Underground Records, it's no surprise that Kero delivers the goods. We're back in Europe for the B-side with Edinburgh's Weedjs and Irish-born Ed Devane. First the Weedjs 'Touchin' Boobs' remix boasts a massive sub-bass under resonating frequencies with mashed-up beats, true Weedjs style. Then, just when you thought it couldn't get any more twisted, Ed Devane presents his 'Tricked Out' remix. This is electronic experimentation at its finest. Cut up and spliced into a sonic waterfall, this is fantastically unpredictable to the end."

Title: Freaky Bitches (Second Installment)
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: TB 037EP
"Andrea Parker's classic 'Freaky Bitches' single featuring Detroit's booty bass masters DJ Assault and DJ Godfather, gets more re-workings with the Second Instalment of remixes. First up is the booty shakin' Michna remix with its old-skool cut 'n' paste style, creative sampling and up-beat tempo. As Eggfooyoung, Adrian Michna is no new comer to Touchin' Bass, having released the EP 'Breakdance and Motivate' in the label's early days. He is also part of Miami's Secret Frequency Crew and has signed to Ghostly for the release of his debut album as Michna. Then steps up Clatterbox, another Touchin' Bass regular with his resonating take on the original. Clatterbox aka David Kempston gained an early following with releases on seminal UK label, Clear. On the B-side we move things outside of the Touchin' Bass camp, kicking off with Justin Maxwell, taking 'Freaky Bitches' into an entirely different musical territory. A media ace, Justin's career spans a number of areas. A DJ and producer, his work can be found internationally on labels like Palette, Trapez, Compost, Poker Flat, Get Physical and Pretension, where he did the classic track 'Pillow Filter'. Montreal's LCEDP provides an amazing aural assault for his rendition. Not for the faint-hearted Antoine Cote has become known for his speedcore creations as both LCEDP and audioterrorism. For the final venture, we continue the musical experimentations and hand over to Warp's Mira Calix, known for her dark brooding, electronic textures and compositions, with several releases under her belt, including projects with The London Sinfonietta and Alexander's Annex. Not for the first time she joins up with the remarkable musician that is cellist Oliver Coates. Together they present a stunning remix of strange notes and unnerving frequencies."

Title: Nobody's Perfect Part Three
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: TB 038CD
"Known for her dark, experimental, electro sets and sublime productions, Parker's own Touchin' Bass label is now a firm fixture on the electronic music radar. Described by DJ magazine as an electro magnet (meaning she seems to attract like-minded producers from all over who are as warped and passionate about cutting-edge electro as she is) with nearly 40 releases under its belt now, including electronic pioneers like Bitstream, Doctor Evil, RD, EggFooYoung, Secret Frequency Crew, Phoenecia, Otto Von Schirach, Kero, the wee djs, Clatterbox, Nomadic, Alpha 606, Ed Devane, ADJ, Scarletron, Andrea Parker/ David Morley and more... plus a collaboration between herself and Detroit's DJ Godfather and DJ Assault, it has to be said... Touchin' Bass, is one of the world's premier electro labels. Nobody's Perfect Part Three picks up from where the first two installments left off -- showcasing cuts from Touchin' Bass releases 21-31 with Parker once again mixing her way through diverse stubborn beats, abrasive noise and oppressive drones. This album starts off with Parker herself, the Grandma of electro and long-term collaborator David Morley. Digging up some lost gems from the archives, the pair reflect on some stunning past glories, classic electronica and are brought to the boil in Queen TB's inimitable style. This mix is 22 tracks of lows and highs, filled with chaos, damaging beats and moody atmospheres, showing us once again the diversity and unique sound of Touchin' Bass. A dark, frightening endurance test!" Artists include: Clatterbox, Nomadic, Scarletron, ADJ and Ed Devane.

Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: TB 039CD
"It's been a while, since we've heard anything from the Touchin' Bass camp, but hopefully this nine track compilation of various artists will make up for the wait. Starting the compilation, is Berlin-based artist Bogger, who runs the Digital Gadget imprint. He also features on the Underscan Records compilation series. 'Mineral' is the perfect opening track to set the mood; with drawn out tones that insinuate themselves into the environment. An intense, sustained, melodic piece of brilliance. Portland-based producer Ben Milstein is up next. He has recorded for labels such as Outside, Pyramid Transmissions and Satamile. Bitstream have already recorded two killer EPs for Touchin' Bass. The two brothers from Northampton-shire have decided to go their separate ways now, so this compilation will feature their last two tracks. Two slices of electronic madness in the truest form. Back to Ben Milstein again, this time as his other alias Doctor Evil. 'Zissle' is an electro assault, with an arsenal of drums, analogue sounds, deep atmospheric synths and bowel bothering bass. Next is another new artist to appear on Touchin' Bass, but already known in the electro and IDM scene - b0t23, part of the Portland family who has been playing at electro jams for many years, flying the flag. Track six comes from Alpha 606 and Sync 24, a debut release for Armando Martinez and Phil Bolland as a duo. Their track 'Warped Juice' is a great crossover of dark moody electro with native Cuban influences and percussive sounds. Dave Paton a.k.a weedjs returns to the label again with his monster of a track. And to finish off we have yet another newcomer as mentioned already above, but this time going under the name of Jeff Pils with his uncompromising Berlin beats."

Artist: 214
Title: Cascadian Nights EP
Label: TOUCHIN' BASS (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: TB 040EP
"To sit at a table with the sounds of 214 is to be served large portions of honey-buttered electro beats, side dishes of synth-line treats, and dollops of IDM-get-down. Like most musicians, Chris Roman's path is rooted in a veritable melting pot of sounds. Some of the influences are obvious, others not so much. His Puerto Rican birthright and Miami upbringing ring apparent when he's pumping out sci-fi roller disco sounds, but when his vibe turns to the cold dark comfort of Detroit-esque minimal mind funk, it would seem this man forgets from whence he came. But it's not so much a lapse, as a love of diversity, a creative finesse with a variety of good tastes. 214 effortlessly blends lush Latin roots with robo-transformer trips, always maintaining a skilful balance between the nasty, the not-right, the cold, hard, and just-right, all at the same time. He's got plenty of tricks up his proverbial record sleeve, and he's been pulling them out for years now."
