Artist: PRENTICE & TUTTLE
Title: Every Loving Day
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 001CD
Gray-area repro (as far as we can tell). "Steve Prentice & Stephen Tuttle, two young Americans based in Boston, recorded their second and rare album in 1972. This collectable record is a fragile psych folk record with strong rural Americana feeling. All twelve tracks are originals and really deserve this CD treatment."

Artist: SAUCEDO, RICK
Title: Heaven Was Blue
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 002CD
"Big, and sadly still pretty unknown, is this awesome album by Rick Saucedo, his debut album that was originally released in 1978 on the Reality label in the USA. Most of the tracks here are absolutely exceptional, including the number that gives the title to the album and takes the full B-side of the original vinyl. Loner psychedelic, melodic, dreamy most of the time, but also featuring the ferocious fuzz-rocker 'Ka Mon We're Gonna Rock All Night Long.' If you like Michael Angelo, Joe Peace or Bob Trimble, don't let this one pass by!"

Artist: ROBIN & THE PLAYBOYS, TEDDY
Title: The 'In' Sounds of Hong Kong!
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 003CD
"Not unlike all the Occidental places in the world, Hong Kong also experienced the beat boom in the mid '60s. Many groups appeared at that time, and some of them left some great records that still today are very fresh and enjoyable. Names like The Mystics, Danny Diaz and the Checkmates, Joe Jr. and the Side Effects or many others took the Hong Kong youth by storm, but no doubt that the most cool and successful group was Teddy Robin & the Playboys. They released four albums, one double album and a big number of 45s, from 1965 to 1969. The double album was a kind of 'greatest hits' and today it's one of the most rare and sought-after collector's items from Asia. Their music ranged, during all the time they were active, from '60s pop, beat, garage, fuzz-punk and psychedelia. To our taste, we wouldn't say that their full discography is ace as they (like so many others by then) recorded some pretty lame pop songs as well. But hell how good the rest is! None of these albums has been reissued in any format, so here is, for the first time ever, a CD compilation of the coolest tracks by Hong Kong's sensation, Teddy Robin & the Playboys."

Artist: KLENCZON, KRZYSZTOF
Title: Trzy Korony
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 004CD
"Krzysztof Klenczon was one of the most important musicians in the Polish '60s & '70s rock scene. He was a member of the well-known psychedelic '60s group Czerwone Gitary indeed, and after the group disbanded he soon released some solo albums. This is by far his best, and it's a total masterpiece of Eastern Europe's rock scene. Originally released in 1971, it features up to 15 hard-psychedelic-rock tracks plenty of terrific wild fuzz guitars."

Artist: KORAY, ERKIN
Title: Tutkusu
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 006CD
"Tutkusu, the 4th album by Turkish psych guru Erkin Koray, was released in 1977, the year after he did 2, his most ethnic record. With Tutkusu he went back to psych rock and he made it with another masterpiece. Eleven original tracks (two sung in English, the rest in Turkish) that will delight your ears."

Artist: STROLLERS, THE
Title: Waiting Is...
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 007CD
"Amazing album from obscure band from Malaysia, The Strollers, recorded in 1973. Waiting Is... remains as one of the best psychedelic albums ever recorded in Asia: superb musicianship, top sound & production and original songs sung in perfect English. It ranges from full-blown heavy psych with killer organ, guitar & flute to amazing UK late sixties-styled pop-psych and some funky & proggy moments."

Artist: HARDAL
Title: Nereden Nereye!
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 008CD
"In the Turkey of the very late '70s, the psychedelic scene was over and there weren't many groups following the natural evolution to progressive rock...or maybe just one? However it was, Hardal was the most important prog group and recorded this, their first album, in 1980. It's a very special album, as it really doesn't sound like any classic progressive group, we'd say. It has good fuzz guitar work, nice synths, even some piano and some pop hints. A very nice album that finally gets its CD reissue, for the first time."

Artist: LES FLEURS DE PAVOT
Title: Les Fleurs de Pavot
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 009CD
"Originally released in 1968, the now impossible to find self titled album by Les Fleurs De Pavot is considered as the first psychedelic/hippie record from France. A veil of mystery surrounded the real origins of the band at the time... according to their press release, they were formed by a couple of hippies, Groovy Pat from London and Jesus from San Francisco who met at some Soft Machine shows in Paris... the reality was more unglamorous: Les Fleurs De Pavot were in fact a twist band called Bourgeois De Calais, transformed into exploitation acid-eater hippies by their manager JP Rawson. The album was produced by the genius tandem of Jean Claude Vannier (famous for his involvement on Gainsbourg's Melody Nelson album) & Bernard Estardy (Nino Ferrer's organist / sound engineer). An explosive mix of psychedelic pop, yeyé music & bizarre studio experimentation featuring 12 superb tracks full of fuzz guitars, groovy vocals and swirling organ with very explicit drug related lyrics. Music ranges from mod psych dancefloor smashers like 'A Degager' to the final six minute lysergic freak-out 'Le Rateau De La Meduse' and even one cool bossa track."

Artist: AMIGOS DE MARIA
Title: Rock
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 010CD
"As the title says, this album really rocks! Absolutely incredible Chilean group who recorded this amazing album in 1968, though it wasn't released until 1973. The finest and purest garagey psychedelia you could have ever imagined, this record has it all. Opening 10 min track 'Vuelve a Comenzar' has wild, pounding drums, great aggressive guitar riffs plus weird and demented vocals. What a killer track! Rest of the album follows this track quite closer, including unbelievable cover versions of Box Top's 'The Letter' or Ray Charles' 'What I'd Say' which are so wild that you'll hardly recognise them. We're not talking about lo-fi mid-'60s garage sound, this is top-level, perfectly produced garagey psychedelia. Definitely one of the best South American albums from the psych era. Two tracks sung in Spanish, rest in English. First time on CD."

Artist: DRNWYN
Title: Gypsies in the Mist
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 011CD
"First time ever reissue of the hard-to-find sole album by U.S. duo, Drnwyn. Wonderful record that has some very cool psychedelic moments (especially the track 'The Madman and the Angel'), and a good number of fabulous folk rock midtempos. There are drums, bass and lots of acoustic guitars in here, but also electric leads, keys, mandolin and multi-part vocals with some female chorus as well. But most important, very well-crafted songs from start to finish. This was a private release back in 1978, and a very recommended album for those into folk-psych and folk-rock."

Artist: YVES TOURBIN, JEAN
Title: Gayan
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 012CD
"Rare and unknown album by this French artist, only released in Denmark. A must for anyone interested in progressive folk, the quality of the songs on this album nearly reaches perfection. There's no drums on it, only some percussion, bongos, acoustic and electric guitars, flutes, bass... sung in French, and with some Eastern influences... a real killer of an album, released in 1981 with a real mid '70s sound, no hype!"

Artist: LAS GRECAS
Title: Gipsy Rock
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 013CD
"The title of this album will give you a good idea of what it's all about. Las Grecas were a couple of young, rocking Spanish gypsy female singers in 1974 recording a whole album with some of the best studio musicians around. All songs have a strong gypsy flavor and flamenco roots, and the backing band is really, really rocking, with tremendous guitar work, some killer fuzz as well and a perfect, surely very expensive production. This is a very unknown flamenco-psych-rock album that will cause you big surprise, we can tell you, it's as good as you could expect when reading these lines. This is to Spanish rock what Erkin Koray, Baris Manço and Edip Akbayram are to Turkish rock."

Artist: TRAINER, PHIL
Title: Phil Trainer
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 015CD
"Phil Trainer was an American folk-rock singer-songwriter. He released his first album when in the UK, with backing by members of UK folk group, Trees. It was originally released in 1972 and it is rated as a world classic of the genre by many. Some good fiddle, piano, electric guitar... now finally on CD, and has a booklet with lyrics."

Artist: GEYSIR
Title: Geysir
Label: UNDERGROUND MASTERS (FRANCE)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: UM 016CD
"Actually a North American group based in Iceland, Geysir released this, their only album, in 1974 and it was released in Iceland only on the Hljómplötur label. It is regarded as a masterpiece of psychedelic progressive folk-rock and a very sought-after item in its original format. Nothing is known about the band other than being Americans... definitely an album to own!"
