Artist: HILL/KOLJAH, STEPHAN
Title: Fett Cash
Label: VIDAB (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: VIDAB 001EP
"Vidab is a record label based in Berlin that cares for electronic dance music. It was founded by O. Deutschmann and Stephan Hill as a platform to express their idea of timeless club music. Vidab 01 is the first teamwork by Stephan Hill and Koljah, who both live and work in Berlin. While Koljah might be known from his recent releases on phil_e and Sushitech, for Stephan it's the first release. A-sided 'Nonresponder' consists of long filter sweeping fields that meet cascades of excellent effected cymbals and thrilling tribe percussions. All of those sounds melt in a timeless dark clubtrack that kicks a 9 am dancefloor. The B-side, 'Stoebbejazz' is the artist's answer on neverending danceathons. You can feel that those guys went through a hard school of Berlin-style afterhours. This is what you want to hear when you go out during the day. Weird toms, percussions and bleeps go along with warm, housy fields. Let yourself fall into that beat on your favorite dancefloor."

Artist: GOWENTGONE
Title: Vollkontakt EP
Label: VIDAB (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: VIDAB 002EP
"Something keeps blinking from the far side and you don't know what that blinking thing is and maybe it is coming straight towards you, first hiding, then to stalk, hiding again, to lay down, to rise up, come further, make a turn, and another turn, to zigzag, seek some distance then, and to stalk again and finally approach. It sneaks over the meadow and scampers across the trenches, there is fog and mist and damp, and the flickering light. Knock knock under the blanket, a hidden life, there is something hidden and it comes from behind and before you know what is going on you are right into it. In the twilight it goes in circles around you, it creeps over the grassland towards you, it strokes around your knees. It wants to lick your hand and then it is ready to leave again. It rears, it flares up, and then it calms down again. When it is inside of you, it joins your way for a while before it returns to its own one. Then again stretch of land and freshness and serenity and the fog is vanished. A foil can also be a carpet and you can lay yourself upon it and while laying you might notice this laying is a soft sinking into something, a short way down and then again chirping and thin limbs in the moonlight, naked and black and still, though smooth like a breeze. Then a colorful circle and a jump, actually like a flock of midges, always momentarily breaking up, then regathering and consolidating. A short gallop in between and quacking from the left side and it all ends in the desert and there is the red light again and it shrinks and it is tailing off and from that we can tell, that it is departing and it keeps vanishing until it is nothing but a tiny point in the black nothing of night."

Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: VIDAB 003EP
"Morning bread, warm as hands, when the night has left us and the dusty streets shift a quiet hour and only from far away a lonely ambulance sees the beauty of the returning colors, and the quietness invites to remain silent like an overall covering blanket and empty squares in horizontal light stretch and strain like awakening dogs while the city, slowly, turns into a machine again, and on the far side of the bridge, the chewing ravers step into their cars."

Artist: O.DEUTSCHMANN
Title: Siem Reap EP
Label: VIDAB (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: VIDAB 004EP
"In my dream I was in the spot, and when I woke up I still was. The last guests, last orders on the way, fuses off, followed by a coughing, the language lost, stories from the past, blue smoke, locked in air. Blue morning, garbage trucks on the side of the road, men in overalls, the buildings on Alexander Square clouded like mountains, dreamy roofs, empty streets, bridge days, sad trees, milky air, people like puppets, meeting nobody, scrambled eggs with herbs on the floor, quick out of the bakery, keep going, the coffee tastes like metal, in the street car flipped open newspapers, black on white, tired faces, mat skin, the drunken up cup on the cemetery wall, unsteady outlines, cleaning light in the office floors, my alarm clock rings, and I am there."

Label: VIDAB (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: VIDAB 007EP
"Pumping, pumping, pumping: Andre Goc a.k.a. Wouldbenice seems to know one modus operandi, and one only. The main attraction in this epic blockbuster is without a doubt his bass drum, rolling straightforward, telling a highly dramatic story with the simplest of means and staying honest throughout the process. Listening to that monster of an A-side, you may just have witnessed the boldest bass drum in human history. Driven by hi-hats seemingly made out of surgical steel, this EP chooses the direct way to the floor, tosses aside everything dispensable and establishes a steady alliance with the prime time. This is the oily 'Internationale' of house, a three-legged hymn to the vintage sound of the Bermuda triangle Chicago-Detroit-Berlin. Garnished with a scent of digital blackness and some elliptic bouncing on the b-side, this record presents itself as a certified essential for the spinning people, staying strong and simple on the party of your choice."

Artist: GOWENTGONE
Title: Under The Bridge EP
Label: VIDAB (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: VIDAB 008EP
"Recording some new love music: after the unforgettable Vollkontakt EP, label-heads Stephan 'The Fist' Hill and Oliver 'The Brain' Deutschmann are back together as Gowentgone to once again save deep house from it's sophisticated isolation, getting him back on track. The message comes thru with 'Love & Respect,' being the master track of the whole record and setting the standards: a bulletproof foundation made of bass and beats presents itself as a perfect stage for heroic drones opening the spaces without becoming too declamatory. Throw in some relaxed sermon by a guy called wisdom, add that little extra swing with some fancy hi-hats and there you go. The self explanatory tool version frames the experience albeit with more twitching and some healthy rumble, becoming best friends with those who play. In between, we find the sleeper of the record, ready to hit anytime, anywhere, the secret hit, hidden in fumes: 'Point Blank' makes the chords drip like honey and knows its way to the promised land, where percussion is always a good decision and euphoria is induced by knowledge and the right dosage. That's how we love and live, in this house."

Gowentgone presents their third release on Vidab. The Walk With Us EP is another deep statement of Gowentgone's passion for house music and techno. "Strange Light" focuses on a central rim-theme that is embedded in a wall of layers. "Move Of The Day" is a dynamic and simple mover that draws you deep into a tooly and mechanic sound. "Burning Flowers" is the pair's interpretation of house that morphs pleasingly into a spacey chill-out zone.
