Artist: PANGEA
Title: Invasori
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: AMS 002LP
"Most prog collectors never even heard of this monster rarity before it was featured in one of Hans Pokora's Record Collector Dreams books. This was out on Philips in 1976 but only in promotional form and without a cover, and arrived by the time the interest of big labels in progressive music was going down, so it never reached stores -- becoming real nightmare for die-hard collectors. This is a conceptual album with 10 tracks put together into two long suites, with some long instrumental and much elaborated parts, and with Italian lyrics. It's spacey progressive music with some pop hints, too. All tracks were written by Mauro Paoluzzi, well-known session man and producer who also wrote some songs for Madrugada; in fact, also two members of this group helped in the recording of the Pangea album as well. Well, so here it is -- for the first time ever, the real Pangea Invasori LP out for sale. Comes in a gatefold cover, obviously new artwork as it was blank originally, great sound and limited to 500 copies."

Artist: SHOWMEN
Title: Showmen 2
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: AMS 003LP
"At last the very first legitimate reissue of this Neapolitan masterpiece dated 1972! The Showmen from Naples had some soul-influenced hits in the '60s featuring names like Mario Musella, James Senese (Napoli Centrale) and Elio D'Anna (Osanna). After a short time, Senese and Del Prete, aided by the guitarist Botta, reformed the group with a new line-up, this time much more influenced by the current Italian prog tendencies and released the album called Showmen 2. The album contains a peculiar mix of rock, jazz and prog, somewhere in between Osanna and the more dynamic British bands of jazz-influenced prog. The music is powerful, well played, with strong horn arrangements that make this album unique in the Italian prog scene of the time. The band disbanded after the album, founders Senese and Del Prete creating Napoli Centrale with a production of three jazz-rock albums in 1975-1977. In recent years, there have been some bootleg releases of this record, with poorly-mastered material, wrong artwork or with music taken from previous demo sessions. So this is the first legitimate reissue, taken from master tapes and with the original artwork. Not to be missed for lovers of the Naples prog scene (Osanna, Uno, Nova, Città Frontale, Cervello, Luna, Napoli Centrale). 500 copies."

Artist: BASSO, LUCIANO
Title: Voci
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: AMS 004LP
"Finally available in vinyl edition, the debut album of acclaimed keyboarder Luciano Basso, originally from 1976. This is a highly appreciated instrumental effort, being cited by The Billboard Guide to Progressive Music as one of the best-ever examples of classically-influenced progressive rock, comparing it to the work of such renowned bands as Focus, Clearlight and even Pink Floyd. Voci is one of the few (and probably the best) Italian records dealing with electronics, representing an interesting mix of classical-influenced progressive music and avant-garde. The record contains five long instrumental tracks, with keyboards to the fore and backing electric instruments. Among the guest musicians on this album, the Nuvole di Paglia bass player, Mauro Periotto. A long OOP title and therefore a must-have for lovers of Italian prog!"

Artist: CAMISASCA
Title: La finestra dentro
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: BBXL 10005LP
"Roberto 'Juri' Camisasca, from near Milan, despite a very limited discography can be considered a cult figure among the progressive music followers. His La finestra dentro, issued in 1974 by Bla Bla, is one of the best albums on that label, strongly influenced by his collaboration with Franco Battiato, who signed Juri to the label and produced the LP, also playing the VCS3 synth on it. Though not musically as complex as Battiato's early works, La finestra dentro can be compared with Alan Sorrenti's first album in the use of voice as an instrument, with sparse musical accompaniment on some tracks. The overall result is much more intense than Sorrenti's Aria, with no weak parts, and a very regarding listen. Already released on CD in 2011, this must-have title for any Italian prog passionate is now reissued on LP, in a faithful replica of the original 1974 edition."

Artist: METAMORFOSI
Title: ...E Fu Il Sesto Giorno
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $33.00
Catalog #: VM 003LP
"Well known Italian prog band Metamorfosi were based in Rome, and they released their debut via the Vedette label in 1972, just one year prior to their highly acclaimed masterpiece, Inferno. ...E Fu Il Sesto Giorno has most of the elements of Inferno already there, with the peculiar voice of Jimmy Spitaleri, the strong rhythm section and the classical influenced keys, but you can also note some slight late '60s influences here. Very rare in original format, this is the first vinyl reissue ever and comes with great remastered sound, replica of the original gatefold cover and label, and limited to 500 copies."

Artist: E.A. POE
Title: Generazioni (Storia di Sempre)
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 027LP
"Yes, this was reissued on vinyl not a long time ago... but it's already been deleted for a while, and being one of the key Italo prog albums, why not make it available again. Originally released in 1974 and one of the major Italian rarities, this album is a real killer. It has all your favorite ingredients for the best Italian prog music; classically inspired keyboards, good guitar work and powerful rhythm section. Great reissue with the original (single) cover, labels replicas and 180 gram vinyl."

Artist: BLOCCO MENTALE
Title: Poa
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VM 032LP
"A very obscure and one of the rarest albums from Italian rock music scene of the 70s. This album takes on ecology as its theme and sings of the evil of polluting the planet. Terrific basic progressive music housed in a creative gimmick sleeve with window to flower. Blocco Mentale were a quintet, consisting of Aldo Angeletti (who wrote the music) on vocals and bass, Michele Arena on drums and vocals, Gigi 'Roso' Bianchi on guitar and vocals, Filippo Lazzari on keyboards, harmonica and vocals, and Dino Finocchi on vocals, sax and flute. Musically Blocco Mentale is characterised by a progressive style with some personal touches. The best instruments are the horns and the keyboards. The album opens with angular staccato sax riffs and then slides into a lush melody somewhat reminiscent of PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi) in their early (and best) days. There are rich vocal harmonies blended with organ and flute, and once again a Mediterranean sensibility which distinguishes much of the best Italian progressive rock. (The opening lines of that opening track, 'Capita,' are recapitulated in the closing lines of the sixth track, 'Ritorno,' but the album still has one track to go at that point, oddly enough.) Swelling Mellotrons blend into vocal harmonies, and give way to a cascading piano line. The music moves around a lot in the course of the album. The fourth track, 'Io E Me,' is an amazing Mediterranean blues, with a wailing harmonica taking the lead. First time ever reissue, in its gorgeous gimmick gatefold cover. Limited to 500 copies."

Artist: PROCESSION
Title: Frontiera
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: VM 036LP
"Very rare debut album by Procession, originally on RCA's subsidiary Help in 1972. This platter is a clear example of what we would describe as hard prog. It's a great album, with a line-up featuring two guitars, bass and drums, playing very good hard rock with some progressive influence and some acoustic passages as well. A very welcome reissue, in a gatefold cover and with the usual top quality of all Vinyl Magic vinyl reissues. Limited to 500 copies."

Artist: OSAGE TRIBE
Title: Arrow Head
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 037LP
"Osage Tribe were an Italian prog band who released just one album in 1972, Arrow Head, before splitting up and disappear -- even if all band members went on playing in other groups as Duello Madre, Capsicum Red, The Trip and Il Volo. The band was founded by Franco Battiato, who left right after the release of the single Un falco nel cielo to pursue a solo career that's still active nowadays. The other musicians then significantly changed their musical style, moving towards a hard rock-based progressive, including some jazz elements too. Still considered a must-have for any Italian prog listener, Arrow Head is now reissued as an audiophile 180gr. black vinyl, enclosed in a gatefold envelope faithful to the beautiful original '72 edition."

Artist: QUELLA VECCHIA LOCANDA
Title: Quella Vecchia Locanda
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: VM 054LP
"Debut album by one of the most legendary names of the Italian progressive rock scene. From 1972, released on the RCA subsidiary Help and with original copies going for quite some money. An absolute classic in the progressive field, this features both hard rock and classical influences, with some very Jethro Tull like flute playing, great guitar and also a violin played by North American Donald Lax. This is a strictly limited reissue of 500 copies in 180 gram vinyl, remastered sound, nice carton gatefold cover and a replica of the original labels."

Artist: BATTIATO, FRANCO
Title: Foetus
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $33.00
Catalog #: VM 065LP
"An internationally known artist, Franco Battiato has been everything in his long career, from beat singer to avantgarde performer, producer, and contemporary music composer. His beginnings lay in the mid '60s, with many singles released with no particular success, the first two under his real name of Francesco. He had left his native Sicily (he was born in Jonia, near Catania in 1945) moving to Milan around 1965. In 1970 after his collaboration with Osage Tribe (that he quit before their only album Arrowhead) he had a record deal with Bla Bla, releasing his first solo album in 1972. Foetus, housed in a outrageous cover (reproducing a foetus) was definitely a prog album, but a very original one, with a minimalist sound mainly based on the use of a VCS3 synth, unusual lyrics, complex arrangements. Two tracks, 'Energia' and 'Una cellula' were also released as single. Produced by Pino Massara in the '70s, Foetus remained unreleased until 1999, when Vinyl Magic finally released it on CD (VM CD 065). This little gem of Italian progressive music is now reissued in its most suitable format, as a black 180 gram vinyl enclosed in a beautiful argent laminated cover."

Artist: AGORA
Title: Live in Montreux
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $44.00
Catalog #: VM 086LP
"Founded in the Italy centre town of Ancona, Agorà curiously debuted with a live album instead of a studio one: they played an almost-instrumental typical jazz rock, and they were invited to play at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland (a place that is most remembered for the fire that inspired Deep Purple's 'Smoke on the Water'). That's where Live in Montreux was recorded, a four-track LP, one of which has been cut in two parts on the two sides of the album. The music, as specified in the album notes too, is clearly inspired by Weather Report, but the influence of the conational Perigeo is evident too. The artwork, made by Cesare Monti, is very peculiar too, with a front standing-up edge-cut tree. A faithful reproduction of the gimmick cover, in black audiophile 180 gram vinyl."

Artist: OSANNA
Title: Milano Calibro 9
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 092LP
"Osanna's second album, originally released in 1972 on Fonit. Original title was Preludio, Tema, Variazioni, Canzona, but is better known as Milano Calibro 9 which is the name of the film that used the recording as soundtrack. Some real strong progressive rock here with the usual powerful rhythm section of the band, strings, flute, along with some orchestral themes by composer Luis Enríquez Bacalov. Now available again, with the original gatefold cover and label replicas." Limited to 500 copies.

Artist: FLEA
Title: Topi O Uomini
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 093LP
"Sole album by these Sicilians who were based in Rome at the time. This is originally on Fonit in 1972 and it's a very very hard-to-find album. A great guitar-lead progressive rock album with a long suite on the A side and three shorter tracks on the B side. 180 gram vinyl reissue with exact repro of the original cover and labels."

Artist: NICO, GIANNI, FRANK, MAURIZIO
Title: Canti D'innocenza, Canti D'esperienza
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 094LP
"1973 album by a band that was actually the bigger part of New Trolls, and this wonderful album is an astounding blend of hard rock and classical influences. Now made available again in exact repro of the cover and labels, and on 180 gram vinyl. Also includes the amazing original insert." Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: STORMY SIX
Title: Un Biglietto del Tram
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 096LP
"A great Italian rock classic album is finally back, here officially reissued for the very first time as an 180 gram audiophile black vinyl, with a faithful reproduction of the original release artwork. Un biglietto del tram was a bolt from the blue, an LP full of pathos from the first to the last note, full of political and social lyricism. From folk and progressive/psychedelic rock, Stormy Six evolved to the powerful hymn of 'Stalingrado', the album opening track. Their career continued until the '80s, but Un Biglietto remains an unique episode in the band's discography, but also in the entire history of Italian rock music."

Artist: ALUSA FALLAX
Title: Intorno Alla Mia Cattiva Educazione
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: VM 103LP
"Alusa Fallax were born in Milano in 1969, and they released a couple of 45s soon after. But it wasn't until 1974 that they released their first and only longplay. Released on the Fonit label with 5000 copies pressed, this is today a very sought after collector's item in its original format. The album is a magical piece of the best Italian progressive music. Melodic, with leading keyboards, classical influences and two long suites (one per side) that can be conventional when speaking of Italian prog, and occasionally experimental, too. This is a strictly limited reissue of 500 copies in 180 gram vinyl, remastered sound, nice carton gatefold cover and a replica of the original labels."

Artist: TRIADE
Title: 1998: La Storia Di Sabazio
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $37.00
Catalog #: VM 105LP
"A trio formed in Florence in the early '70s by keyboardist Vincenzo Coccimiglio along with bass player Agostino 'Tino' Nobile, who had previously played in Noi Tre, a legendary band that also included guitarists Franco Falsini of Sensations' Fix and Paolo Tofani, who was in Area and later known as Electric Frankenstein. After trying various drummers, they found a suitable one in Giorgio Sorano and Triade was born. Signed to the Derby label, the group only released an album and a single in 1973, and had good live activity supporting the likes of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso and Premiata Forneria Marconi and even playing some dates on their own (like a couple of memorable concerts at Pierlombardo in Milan). 1998: La storia di Sabazio includes a totally instrumental first side with strong classical influences (much in the ELP direction) and a three-track second side with vocal parts. The result is a good album. The album reflects the different tastes of the two composers, the first side being almost completely composed by Coccimiglio, while the second side (that's sometimes compared with Le Orme) was more song-oriented and composed by Nobile. Two tracks from this vocal second side, 'Caro fratello' and '1998,' both with very good acoustic guitar playing, were also released on single. Very rare and expensive in its original issue, 1998: La storia di Sabazio was housed in a nice mirror golden foil gatefold cover, and is very hard to find in perfect condition due to the delicate design. First time vinyl reissue, the first 500 copies are identical to the original deluxe version with the golden mirror foil and also a special gold-colored vinyl."

Artist: UNO
Title: Uno
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 109LP
"When Osanna disbanded, two of their members went to form the new group, Uno. This was 1974. That same year, they released their only album, which is musically quite similar to the late Osanna prog-folk sound. New reissue with the original gatefold cover, replica of the labels and 180 gram vinyl."

Artist: GARYBALDI
Title: Nuda
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: VM 114LP
Deluxe gatefold edition. "From Genova, the legend of Garybaldi started back in 1965 when a group called Gleemen was founded. Gleemen was the same exact line-up of Garybaldi, and they released one only album under their first name, in 1970. One year after the release of the Gleemen album, which is Hendrix rock inspired rather than prog, the band decided to follow the progressive trend and changed their name to Garybaldi, forging a legend of Italian prog for the future generations. They released their debut album in 1972, Nuda, keeping the Hendrix-inspired guitar playing of Bambi Fossati but showing a stronger progressive orientation. It came with a beautiful artwork in triple gatefold cover by Guido Crepax. Now here's an exact repro of the rare original album, 500 copies only. Grab this important piece of Italian prog while you can. First time ever vinyl reissue!"

Artist: GARYBALDI
Title: Astrolabio
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $31.00
Catalog #: VM 116LP
"After the Nuda masterpiece, you couldn't believe the guys went higher. The next year in 1973 they released their second and last, Astrolabio, another excellent album but not such a top record as the debut was. The album consists of 2 long tracks with a lot of improvisation giving guitarist Bambi Fossati a perfect field to give good faith of his high level playing. There is good keyboard work here too, courtesy of Lio Marchi who was actually not in the group but only for the recording sessions. These two tracks were also released in single format, obviously quite shortened. Also quite rare in its original form, Astrolabio was released in a gatefold cover, which is now exactly reproduced in this limited reissue of 500 copies that we strongly recommend you to give a space in your collection."

Artist: RACCOMANDATA RICEVUTA RITORNO
Title: Per... un Mondo di Cristallo
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 117LP
"Roman group RRR (this is how they're usually named because of the long name) released their sole album in 1972, on Cetra-Fonit. It came out in a gorgeous gatefold cover with a very nice drawing in the inner gatefold, and it's a particularly hard-to-find item. Typical Italian progressive sound with acoustic guitar, flutes and lots of keyboards, along with some jazz influences. A good representative album from the Italian progressive golden years." Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: PANNA FREDDA
Title: Uno
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 118LP
"With a great album, highly representative of the Italian prog sound, Panna Fredda should have deserved some more success, but theirs is the typical story of a band having a record deal and not being able to produce an album. Uno was delayed for many months after its recording and even broadcast in radio before its release, but the record company (Vedette) didn't support it at all and the band disappeared. The band was from Rome, and their album was released in 1971, but as mentioned above, the group had already ceased to exist by the time of its release. The album contains six long cuts, mostly based on a very effective guitar-keyboards interplay. Some English prog influences can be heard, and classical influences are evident, especially in the keyboard parts, but the music is convincing and impressive. The voice is good, the lyrics original and the album has no weak points." Housed in a gatefold sleeve; on clear vinyl.

Artist: GLI ALLUMINOGENI
Title: Scolopendra
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 121LP
"A trio from Turin, formed in 1970 by keyboard player Alluminio (hence the name of the band) and drummer Ostorero with various guitarists, they only lasted for a couple of years and their only album, Scolopendra, was issued when they had already split. Their sole album is very well made, mainly based on Hammond organ and other keyboards, with good instrumental parts and an outstanding B-side. A must-have for lovers of Italian prog! New vinyl reissue with the original artwork, label replicas and remastered sound." Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: I CALIFFI
Title: Fiori di Metallo
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 122LP
"Florence band I Califfi included in their first line-up the future Area and Electric Frankenstein guitarist Tofani and Campo di Marte drummer Marcovecchio and were a very popular band in the '60s, before disbanding at the turn of the '70s. They released an album on RiFi and no less than eleven singles. The band was reformed in 1972 by bass player Franco Boldrini, the only member from the original line-up, for a new recording deal with Fonit Cetra, that only produced an LP. Fiore di Metallo is a very good prog album, based on organ and Moog sounds, with two outstanding instrumental tracks. One of our personal faves, and a mega-rarity, finally reissued on LP. Highly recommended! 180 gram LP, gatefold sleeve."

Artist: PROCESSION
Title: Fiaba
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 123LP
"Torino's Procession you already know from the previously reissued Frontiera (their killer hard-prog debut, still available from us). But on this second and last album, from 1974 and with a new line-up (only keeping the guitarist and vocalist from their original line-up), Procession made it different, and still much better. Fiaba is no hard-prog anymore, but an astounding piece of progressive rock with a slight symphonic feel, with guitar, bass, drums, flute and sax, and occasional keys. Not as rare in its original format as the +$1000 Frontiera, but still a hard collectable item, now reissued in its gatefold cover and also the label's replica."

Artist: SAMADHI
Title: Samadhi
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 124LP
"A sort of supergroup, as most of their members came from well-known bands, Samadhi were formed after the split of Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno by singer Regoli and guitarist Civitenga, along with keyboard player Sabatini (from Free Love and Kaleidon), Aldo Bellanova from Teoremi on bass and drummer Ruggero Stefani (L'Uovo di Colombo), and two other members. The album, from 1974 and their only record released, mixes very good prog influences with some jazz and even pop, the best of the seven tracks being the closing L'ultima Spiaggia with religious text. The beautiful lyrics were written by poet Enrico Lazzareschi. New vinyl reissue with the original artwork, label replicas and remastered sound." Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: IL PAESE DEI BALOCCHI
Title: Il Paese Dei Balocchi
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 125LP
"A band from Rome formed in 1971 and featuring two ex-members of Under 2000, a group that had released some singles in 1970. Their only album, released in 1972 by CGD, is a typical Italian symphonic prog album with strong classical influences and keyboards as leading instrument, some orchestral arrangements in around the same style as the later Contaminazione by Rovescio della Medaglia, and short vocal parts. The LP contains two long suites divided into small movements with very long and complex titles. The album is very good and sadly overlooked by many, It's surely worth a listen." Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: DELIRIUM
Title: Delirium III
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 126LP
"Genova's Delirium are one more of the big Italo-prog names, with a few big seller albums. Delirium III (obviously their third) is the only one that is really a rare hard to find album, and everyone agrees it's their best work too. For the first time the group used here electric guitar as well as acoustic, and big dose of flute. Now available again, with the original gatefold cover and label replicas. Limited to 500 copies."

Artist: OSANNA
Title: Palepoli
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 127LP
"Osanna are definitely one of the bigger names in Italian progressive, and their albums were big hits in their country at the time they were released. They were based in Naples, and they released four albums, all on the Fonit label. Palepoli is their third, and arguably their best one. In fact, it's often pointed to as one of the best-ever Italian progressive rock albums. It was originally released in 1973, and contains three long tracks only, the first of them an amazing mixture of progressive rock with local Naples folk. The whole album has excellent guitar and powerful rhythm section, and the production of the record is fantastic. Now available again, with the original gatefold cover, label replicas and the printed inner sleeve with the lyrics as well. Limited to 500 copies."

Artist: DUELLO MADRE
Title: Duello Madre
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 128LP
"Like Cincinnato, even Duello Madre, from Genova, only released a jazz-oriented album with just a single vocal track (probably the most convincing one on the LP), issued in 1973 on Produttori Associati. In the line-up Marco Zoccheddu from Nuova Idea and Osage Tribe, Bob Callero also from Osage Tribe and drummer Dede Lo Previte from Circus 2000, along with sax and flute player Pippo Trentin, and the great musicianship of the four-piece is evident throughout the album. First ever vinyl reissue; gatefold cover and 180 gram vinyl."

Artist: NEW TROLLS
Title: Concerto Grosso Per I
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 129LP
"One of the most legendary rock groups from Italy, without any doubt. New Trolls recorded many albums during their long career, and we could say Concerto Grosso is their masterpiece. Stunning progressive rock, with keys and orchestral arrangements, an absolute classic. Came out originally in 1971 on the Cetra label. Here's a limited, wonderful reissue of the original, with its gatefold cover and original label replicas."

Artist: NEW TROLLS
Title: Senza Orario, Senza Bandiera
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 130LP
"Finally on LP again, the legendary New Trolls debut! Released in 1969, it was one of the very first complete LPs by a pop band and in the meantime, a real concept album, lyrics were written for them by singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André and the poet Mannerini wrote the lyrics while Giampiero Reverberi (later producer of Le Orme's 'Collage,' 'Uomo di Pezza,' 'Felona e Sorona' and 'Contrappunti') arranged the music. Senza Oriario, Senza Bandiera is an excellent album, very successful at the time, strongly tied to the beat sound of the early days. As usual, there are the remarkable harmony vocals of the whole band (a trademark that New Trolls had from the very beginning), plus the Jimi Hendrix guitar of Nico di Palo and some interesting guitar parts, but not particularly complex compositions. 180 gram LP, gatefold sleeve."

Artist: OSANNA
Title: L'uomo
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 131LP
"Perfectly known as one of the key names of the Italian progressive scene, this is Naples' Osanna's debut album, from 1971. By then, the band image was thrilling: dressed in long vests and with painted faces, as they're shown in the gorgeous triple gatefold cover of this album. L'uomo is a classic, and features great guitar, solid rhythm section, aggressive flute and good vocals. Now available again, with the original triple gatefold cover and label replicas. Limited to 500 copies."

Artist: GLEEMEN
Title: Gleemen
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 132LP
"First time ever vinyl reissue of this monstrously rare Italian album from 1970. Gleemen were no other than the mighty Garybaldi before a name change. So we have Bambi Fossati here on guitar showing us how he can play Hendrix-guitar like few others. This splendid psych-rock album is similar in style to the Garybaldi Nuda album, with the wild guitar of Fossati, good organ and a solid rhythm section. A very important re-release, here in 180g vinyl, exact label replicas and gorgeous gatefold cover."

Artist: NEW TROLLS
Title: New Trolls
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 133LP
"The second album of New Trolls was released in 1970, and was a compilation of tracks from their previous singles. These were still the days in Italy where people preferred the singles to the less popular LPs, and these often were simple compilations of already-known songs. Therefore, this second album, simply called New Trolls is the hardest and most expensive to find from this band. All tracks were major beat and psych hits, and are pretty far away from the symphonic prog they played afterwards. All songs are still a pleasure to listen today; they are some real beat and psych-inspired killers, highlighted by great vocal harmonies and Hendrix-inspired guitar playing. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl!"

Artist: CITTA FRONTALE
Title: El Tor
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 135LP
"After the split of Osanna in 1974, two of their members went to form Città Frontale, keeping most of the characteristic sound elements of Osanna for this new project. So this is still a blend of progressive rock with Mediterranean folk, but more melodic and lightweight than Osanna. This is their only album, dated 1975, originally on Fonit and now reissued."

Artist: OSANNA
Title: Landscape Of Life
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 136LP
"The last of the good early '70s albums Osanna did with the Fonit label, released in 1974 just prior to splitting up. A pretty decent progressive album that certainly doesn't reach the top level of some of their earliest works but is still much more than worth it. Gatefold cover, exact label replicas and 180 gram vinyl."

Artist: BAMBIBANDA E MELODIE
Title: Bambibanda E Melodie
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 137LP
"Post-Garybaldi group Bambibanda e Melodie (obviously featuring Bambi Fossati on guitar), their only album has the usual leading role for Bambi's guitar, but the use of percussion gives a more Latin-inspired feel that sometimes reminds of Santana. Exact repro of the 1974 original, labels replicas and 180g vinyl."

Artist: NEW TROLLS
Title: UT
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 138LP
"Fifth album by the New Trolls is probably one of the most sought after by them. Originally released in 1972, shows a heavier sound blending progressive with hard rock. Gatefold cover, label replicas and 180g vinyl."

Title: Searching For A Land
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: 2LP
Price: $48.00
Catalog #: VM 139LP
"Brilliant reissue of the 1972 double album by Italian prog hitmakers. It was mostly sung in English (and therefore not reaching good sales, as used to happen with Italian groups singing in English back then). One of the 4 sides is a live recording as well. This wonderful reissue is an exact replica of the original, with the gatefold cover with top flap. A very nice collectable. 180g vinyl."

Artist: AREA
Title: Tic & Tac
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 141LP
"Area were one of the more varied Italian bands with their distinctive mix of prog and jazz genres. Without a question Area's early '70s work is pure classic Ital prog. Tic & Tac was released in 1980 after Demetrio Stratos' death. Sounding something in between Soft Machine and Uzeb, this album moves and moves, and never really stops and takes a breath. The band lineup included Patrizio Fariselli (acoustic piano, M.C.S. 70 synthesizer and electric piano), Larry Nocella (tenor sax), Giulio Capiozzo (drums), Ares Tavolazzi (electric bass, double bass, guitar), Guido Guidoboni (trumpet), Luciano Biasutti (trumpet). Reprinted in beautiful LP version."

Title: Gli Dei Se Ne Vanno, Gli Arrabbiati Restano!
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 142LP
"One of the most important names of Italian '70s rock, Area released a good number of LPs between 1973 and 1980. This is the 7th release (1978), which has never been reissued on vinyl before! The record contains some good progressive songs and some songs close to free jazz as well. Gatefold cover, label replicas and 180g vinyl."

Artist: RICORDI D'INFANZIA
Title: Io Uomo
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 143LP
"Sole album by this obscure group. Io uomo contains a very good progressive sound, based on mediocre lyrics on the creation of mankind (a recurring theme in many Italian prog bands' concept albums). The eight track album has its best moments in 'Morire e non morire' and the opening 'Caos,' one of the few tracks with keyboards at the fore. An ultra-rare album, one of the rarest on Fonit-Cetra, Io uomo originally had a textured gatefold cover that included the lyrics but no details on the band. The album was issued in the LPP series that included mostly popular music records and oddly didn't include the group name on the cover, just a mention in the liner notes in the inner gatefold."

Artist: DELIRIUM
Title: Dolce Acqua
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 144LP
"Delirium came from Genova, from a previous beat band called I Sagittari, and formed in 1970, releasing their first single a year later. Canto di Osanna, presented at the first Viareggio pop festival was a successful single and gave the band an immediate notoriety. They had also won a Radio Montecarlo rock contest in 1971. First album, Dolce Acqua, also from 1971 contains a good and original mix of prog, jazz and some tuneful melodies, the leading role of singer Ivano Fossati is evident, with his furious flute soloing being one of the band's most distinctive elements. The album, housed in a nice triple gatefold cover, is structured in various movements like a classical suite.... Deluxe 180g vinyl in triple gatefold cover."

Title: Lo Scemo E Il Villaggio
Label: VINYL MAGIC (ITALY)
Format: LP
Price: $34.00
Catalog #: VM 145LP
"After their first album, Dolce Acqua, from 1971 and their memorable TV presence at Sanremo music festival around mid-1972, Ivano Fossati suddenly had to leave Delirium for his military service, later to pursue a solo career that's still successful today, even with a lighter (but always full of jazzy and ethnic influences) kind of music. His replacement was Englishman Martin Frederick Grice (from Boomerang) who, along with the ever-present flute, was also a brilliant sax player. With this renewed line-up they released their second album, Lo Scemo E Il Villaggio, still with some jazz influences and a stronger use of sax by the new member Grice, with the evident lack of a role for lead singer in the band, all members taking the lead singer role. The track 'La Mia Pazzia' is the closest to first album's style. 180 gram vinyl, gatefold cover."
