Artist: WOLF + LAMB
Title: Love Someone
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: WL 001CD
This is the debut artist album from Gadi Mizrahi & Zev Einsenberg aka Wolf + Lamb, both Brooklyn-born musicians, producers and label-heads who pride themselves on procuring and presenting some of the finest gourmet music from around the world. Coming together over a decade ago, they strived to experience and conquer a new approach to music. And so was born Wolf + Lamb, a project that refuses to conform, yet inspires a legion of followers. Since then, many have had their own personal experience of Wolf + Lamb; within their Marcy Hotel in New York; as far away as the Nevada Desert for the Burning Man festival; and more recently, across Europe as the duo took to the road. Love Someone is a collection of sometimes obscure, but always engaging dance music productions, cultivating the ultimate statement of who they are, and conveying their own unique musical vision. The album opens with the atmospheric trails of "Just For Now," made at the Wolf + Lamb NYC base -- the Marcy -- a derelict setting that influenced the gangster feel of this track. Still keeping the tempo slow is their dubbed-out rework of "Shoeshine Boogie." Made at Matt Tolfrey's/Jamie Jones' studio in London, the rework oozes with the succinct flavors of instrumental hip-hop and characterizes the W+L signature blend of non-conformist dance music. The title track begins to heat things up, combining a nice disco oddity sample, cascading melodies and rhythmic low-end bass, all put together in their Marcy studio, a space that doubles as the dancefloor for their infamous parties. There is a sole collaboration, courtesy of label mate Smirk, who helped produce the jazz medley, "Monster Love," and Dyed Soundorom makes it onto the package with his "Wants Your Love" remix of "Want Your Money." The original version closes the project with a sumptuous workout of warbling vocals, shaking snares and contemporary resonance. Influenced by a solid knowledge of musical history and inspired by an endless enthusiasm, Love Someone unites a diverse array of tracks, keeping in mind not only the dancefloor, but the journey to and from it.

Artist: CURTISS, LEE
Title: Sexy Dancer
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 001EP
"Hot on the heels of his Smut release for Dumb Unit in the early summer, Lee's uniquely avant-backwoods brand of dance music has been collecting accolades steadily over the last year or so. Opener 'Sexy Dancer' is as deep and provocative as its title suggests. Fueled by punching kick and smeared with slick synth melodies, a grimey bass passage submerges the mix into sweaty and sticky territories. An intermittent Yello-esque vocal shames us as we descend unreservedly to the early hours. On the flip, 'Heavy Petting' opens with a tired and resonant vocal passage. Reverberated percussion shuffles amidst howling synth pulses and a stuttering bass line. Backing you into a corner with only one thing on its mind, this is an uneasy but wholly cathartic deep electro experience. B2 'And Counting' features haunting French children and stabbed house keys, encircled by reverberant live re percussion. A moment of warm, melodic calm relieves before diving to the depths in one last push to close. Absolutely filthy."

Artist: SOUL CLAP
Title: EFUNK: The Album
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: WLM 002CD
The wisdom of Soul Clap has been beamed down to Earth in the form of EFUNK -- Everybody's Freaky Under Nature's Kingdom -- their debut album on Wolf + Lamb. Soul Clap delivers a galactic renaissance to fill our ears with interplanetary consciousness and emancipate our booties from the androids of dancefloor repetition. The days of EFUNK are upon us, restoring dopeness in the universe, as we groove on and move on together in intergalactic harmony! Limited to 13 songs over 45 minutes to fit on one 12" record and operate the mothership control-panel. The album also tells the story of Soul Clap's journey so far in a concise musical statement that could only be accomplished with the skills of master DJs. Along their path returning from the outer-reaches to save dance music from the eclipse of darkness, Soul Clap's pop sensibility captured the hearts of many earthlings. Help in the transformational process is obliged from their close-knit Wolf + Lamb family, who have shared and shaped their journey into the consciousness of the terrestrial. The young Jules Born of the Voices Of Black duo injects his raw-funk stamp into "Let's Groove On." Baby Prince aka Gadi Mizrahi of Wolf + Lamb features alongside other members of the family on "The Clapping Song." Charlie also plays kazoo, guitar and keys. Greg Paulus of No Regular Play beams in his magnificent trumpet on the serene closing broadcast, "Islands In Space" as Charlie sings in cosmic frequencies and Eli's father Gary Goldstein strums the bass. Goddess deities lead EFUNK's transmission further into the light. Franceska unveils her Janet Jackson-like powers on "Take It Slow" and Mel Blatt of All Saints fame wrote and sang the lyrics for "Ecstasy." Hijacked by a UFO to study the effects of the spotlight over a decade, Mel recently returned with divine powers. Her lucid voice returns for "Need Your Lovin'." Originally an edit Charlie created from an intense love for the original, when they shared it with Mel over stargazing, her mutual feelings led to them recording her vocal and replaying all the parts, becoming a reinvigorated fresh interpretation of the rave classic. Further into un-charted territory, "The Alezby Inn," a cover of legendary West Coast electro don Egyptian Lover, features Genevan Heathen, who shares a Boston connection and unleashes an EFUNK masterpiece, a mischievous jam that speaks its own truth. "Let It Go" was resurrected from an early demo Roldy Cezaire gave to the guys during their legendary mid-week parties in Boston. Lazarus Man's epic "When The Soul Claps" is a staple a cappella in Soul Clap performances, and the EFUNK formula for it beams a powerful skyrocket to the stars. Soul Clap's training goes beyond history lessons to master all the elements of the DJ: knowledge, mixing, programming, performance and experience. As true conquerors, their EFUNK mission shares timeless frequencies, bringing new levels of consciousness through time and space to be shared for many moons to come.

Artist: TROXLER, SETH
Title: Aphrika
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 002EP
"Following the escapades in the digital world, Wolf & Lamb's second release on vinyl comes from the mighty Seth Troxler with the Aphrika EP. 'Aphrika' is sensual and hypnotic, armed with a rhythmic male vocal and doused in mystery. Over the past year, Seth Troxler has climbed into the boxes of DJs worldwide, set dancefloors writing with pleasure and made his mark on some of the best labels on the planet. All before hitting a quarter of a century. Owing much to his upbringing in Detroit, where his creatively minded parents and friends allowed his imagination to roam free, Troxler is carving out a niche sound and reputation for unabated creations. Troxler takes on remix duties for the second half of the EP. In his own words, 'Nicolas Jaar is one of the most talented minds dance music is about to see develop', and Jaar's 'The Student,' proves him to be a fellow youth with abundant talent. Seth's take is a late night performer to send shivers through the night, explosively percussive and teasingly seductive. Born in NYC, Nicolas Jaar relocated to Chile during his early years and, inspired by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, he started to produce at just 14 years old. His productions flow with organic influences, experimenting with the original techno sound."

Artist: WOLF + LAMB
Title: Brooklynn EP
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 003EP
"Wolf + Lamb step forward with their own production paying homage to their homeland with the Brooklynn EP. The Wolf + Lamb sound is simple and groove-led, citing multi-cultural influences true to the vibrant New York scene. 'Therapist' is reminiscent of the old Chicago sound while 'Keep Me Up All Night' is true to its name. Rolling beats and melodies are fed under a sexy sample beckoning you to the dancefloor. 'Must Be Brooklynn' is the deeper sibling of the package and the gliding pianos and broken beats of 'Idiosyncratic' provide an onslaught of jazz-infused house music. Wolf + Lamb was born in 2001 as an alias for Brooklyn-born musical souls, Zev Eisenberg and Gadi Mizrahi. Over the years, this unique partnership has been involved in a well-respected record label, nightclub/studio space, production partnership and DJ duo. Gadi's forte is sounds, synths and concept, while Zev handles the engineering, editing and writing of the tracks."

Title: Significant Others EP
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 004EP
"Taste the summer with this : 'South Aphrika' from Lee Curtiss is immaculate and succinctly delicious. Wolf + Lamb has followed Lee's rise to underground cult status over the past year and pre-empt new material from him signed to Spectral, Get Physical and the new Cityfox label out later this year. Gadi's 'I'll Set Your House' and Zev's 'This Feeling' are both uniquely the style and feel of each artist respectively, and an opportunity to experience them apart for the first time on the label. Gadi Mizrahi has forthcoming material on Spectral and Hallucination Ltd. Nicolas Jaar is a fellow New Yorker whose first EP, The Student was released on Wolf + Lamb last year. Bringing fresh, traditionally and educated music to the Wolf + Lamb label, his tracks have been played by a wide cross section of artists. 2009 has brought him onto Circus Company for an upcoming compilation and he's launched his own label Clown and Sunset."

Artist: NO REGULAR PLAY
Title: Owe Me
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 005EP
"Wolf + Lamb introduce the world to the delights of No Regular Play, the musical duo who merge heart and spirit into yet another package for Wolf + Lamb. Surpassing expectations with their freshly pressed vinyl output this year, Owe Me is the second release from No Regular Play on the label and it fuses style and grace into a stunning collection of dance-door steeped productions. Greg Paulus and Nick DeBruyn AKA No Regular Play met as excitable 8 year olds growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota. Picking up inspiration from hip-hop and jazz legends such as A Tribe Called Quest, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock, Greg performed trumpet at local jazz clubs in his teenage years and together they traveled to Cuba's Havana to study Afro-Cuban rhythm, music and culture. Greg went on to study jazz/classical at the Manhattan School of Music and worked with James Brown's drummer and Lauryn Hill before touring with critically acclaimed indie band Beirut. In 2006 Nick joined Greg in Brooklyn to begin experimenting with electronic music after they attended a Wolf + Lamb party that blew their minds. Last year they met Zev and Gadi of Wolf + Lamb, and immediately began a very close musical and personal relationship. Consequently No Regular Play was born, stylistically touching on a wide range of influences focused around live instrumentation, which is also used in their live sets. You can find No Regular Play in the booth or at the party, bartending at Wolf + Lamb and operating the vinyl presses and forklift at Brooklyn Phono."

Artist: KURTEL, DENIZ
Title: Whisper
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 006EP
"Wolf + Lamb introduce the world to the female branch of their creative tree of artists with Deniz Kurtel's inspired Whisper EP. Every once in a while an artist comes along that casually defies a medium and seems to effortlessly innovate with every project. Deniz Kurtel is one such artist. In little over a year, Deniz has begun to dazzlingly innovate with her own forward-thinking and esoteric take on deep, sultry house and techno. The Whisper EP follows up a remix for No Regular Play on Wolf + Lamb and preempts a debut artist album on Crosstown Rebels scheduled for release in early 2010. These three majestic cuts are sincere and feminine, fusing soft echoes into colourful and soothing atmospheres."

Title: Significant Others Too
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: WLM 007EP
"It's fair to say the face of house music has changed in 2009 due to Wolf + Lamb. The label started the year launching a new vinyl platform to release alongside their three-year-old digital imprint and ended with two European tours for the duo, taking in a refreshed and devoted global audience along the way. W+L mark the close of the decade gathering a second round of Signicant Others for another distinguished package. Zev and Gadi AKA Wolf + Lamb both offer their own touch to this package. Zev's opener 'Forget the World' is a revisit to the earlier solo release on the first Significant Others EP earlier this year, an accomplished excursion creating a magical intimacy with the listener. While Gadi lays down a release from his newest partnership, Just One Night with Greg Paulus, where intoxicating blues meets funk with a dash of disco ¬avour. No Regular Play rejoin the Significant Others package for the second time, this round in a rework by Slow Hands on 'Ladyluck' from their last full W+L release. Slow Hands create a serene electronic interpretation set for the early hours."

Artist: JAAR, NICOLAS
Title: A Time For Us/Mi Mujer
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WLM 008EP
2011 repress. Dreamt up while living at the Marcy, Wolf + Lamb's infamous fake hotel, Nicolas Jaar presents two slow and enveloping productions, adding a new dimension to his signature sound. The track's tempo slides down the scale at its peak and sensual spoken passages ooze through the gaps. "Time For Us" moves away from formulaic club music and inspires with its dynamic approach. Seth Troxler has laced it with admiration and the record was even unleashed at Burning Man.

Artist: REEVES & GUTI, SHAUN
Title: Hold Me Tight EP
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WLM 009EP
Wolf + Lamb unveil a new collaboration from Shaun Reeves & Guti with the Hold Me Tight EP. Originally penned for a defunct German label, the remix of Pupkulies & Rebekah became a dancefloor bomb for Gadi & Zev. A playful remix -- as much for its snappy bass and sharp snares as for the integral hums and contented vocal. Contrastingly, "Saudade" takes a more somber route, with Guti playing lively staccato and solo jazz-infused piano to create a warm melodic ensemble.

Artist: NIDAM, MAAYAN
Title: Isitin
Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WLM 010EP
Maayan Nidam, formerly known as Miss Fitz, presents a fine selection of wonky house and slow grooves. The cheeky "Isitin" is a spaced-out mid-tempo house groove driven by an effortlessly funky and hypnotic bass line. "Merry Go Round" serves up a cumbia-slow Barry White edit, "Na Und" investigates reversed samples and slinky-slow jazz percussion for the fonkiest ends of the night, and "Better Stop" hits a terrific 100bpm groove for fans of the Workshop 12" or Juju And Jordash. --Boomkat

Price: $12.00

Label: WOLF AND LAMB
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00

Gadi Mizrahi and Deniz Kurtel pair up to deliver its electrifying remix, armed with an arsenal of raw and distorted elements that set the dancefloor alight. Also including a remix by Zev.

Catalog #: WLM 013EP
Greg Paulus is a trumpeter for Matthew Dear's live band and one-half of No Regular Play. His Nightime EP gives his slow and sultry take on house music, complimented with a special Crazy P remix. "Nightime" wanders through a valley of bouncy low-end bass and '80s synths, while the remix is hypnotizing and anthemic. "Daisy Duke" takes the tempo of soul and "Yellow Sky" is visionary pop that imitates the calls of hip-hop and the swagger of funk.
