Artist: DJ YELLOW
Title: Too Much Of Nothing
Label: WOLFSKUIL RECORDS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WOLF 011EP
"With influences that range from the bells of Mike Oldfield to the beats of Jeff Mills, the depths of James Holden to the drive of Josh Wink, its Yellow's signature blend of hypnotic techno and deephouse that he is respected for. With both drive and melancholic strains apparent in his works, Yellow is a master at weaving melodies and grooves that continue to hypnotize and energize over the course of a night. He is considered one of the godfathers of the French house scene since the early '80s and has continued his legacy through his own Poussez! Music imprint and the Alienation & Intermission series. The 2 tracks on his first ever release on a Dutch label have the typical DJ Yellow trademarks written all over it. The title track with its uplifting drum patterns, driving bassline and haunting strings and melodies is peaktime material for anyone who likes to go deep without losing energy in his or her set. 'Medium' is build around a series of complex and deeply emotional melodies, taking things down a notch. The track is mechanical soul and funk of the best kind and it presents an ideal moment to reflect on the night and taking the music deeper and deeper into the morning."

Artist: GATZIGRISTOS, GIORGOS
Title: Proper Latin Usage
Label: WOLFSKUIL RECORDS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WOLF 012EP
"Giorgos Gatzigristos, born in 1979, lived in Nijmegen (NL) all his life. As a child he got enthralled by the analog sounds of Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre, which his father sort of pushed on him. Their sounds and compositions got him interested in the way these artists created their music and the vision they had about music in general. His production career toke off in 2004 when he released his first 12" on Wolfskuil Records. It didn't take long for Giorgos to get noticed by the mighty Kompakt empire, where he released 3 successful singles on their K2 imprint. Several releases & remixes on Manual, Channel Music, etc., later he returns to his roots and delivers one hell of a techno stomper for Wolfskuil. 'Proper Latin Usage' is a deep, dark and twisted electronic masterpiece. The track sounds like a ticking timebomb which doesn't seem to go off, but keeps everyone listening in anxious suspense to the coming events. On the flip is an excellent remix from Mikrowave, label owner and International DJ Gigolo protégé, Kevin Gorman. He turns the original into proper floor-filling & bass-heavy mayhem, in the way only Kevin can. Not for the faint of heart!"

Artist: ESSER & BENNY RODRIGUES, DARKO
Title: Slaapgebrek
Label: WOLFSKUIL RECORDS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WOLF 013EP
"Long time friends and studio partners Darko Esser and Benny Rodrigues team up for their first ever appearance on Wolfskuil Records. Both are well known figures in the Dutch dance scene and even beyond. Last year they released their duo debut on Darren Emerson's Underwater imprint, entitled Paradox which received massive support from the industry and was played out by international jocks like Josh Wink, Derrick May, Technasia, Pete Tong a.o. This is their second release with many more to follow. Long and sleepless nights were the inspiration for 'Slaapgebrek' which means sleep deprivation in Dutch. The results of these sessions are two moody & hallucinogenic tracks, which represent a state of mind only to be experienced after many restless nights. The original mix with its freaked out shuffled drum patterns, rave stabs and maximal modulated bassline is peak-time dancefloor fudder for any crazed techno night. Frustrated bleeps and FX give it a nervous twilight zone like feel, climaxing and clashing throughout the track. The flipside takes things on a lighter, more emotion ridden tip. The rhythm is stripped down of all nastiness and the bassline friendlier and melodic. Halfway through the break the violins kick in, resembling the break of dawn after another night of turning and twisting without getting any much deserved rest. Perfect afterhour material."

Artist: BRTSCHITSCH, PAUL
Title: Bridge Itch
Label: WOLFSKUIL RECORDS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WOLF 014EP
"Wolfskuil Records is proud to announce the addition of a renowned international techno producer to its artist roster. Paul Brtschitsch from Berlin, Germany, has been delivering wonderful tunes to the world since 1996. His strength is defined by a timeless understanding of music and a distinct accuracy regarding arrangements as well as exploring new sounds. The two tracks which comprise the 14th release on Wolfskuil are exemplary for Paul's warm and accessible sound and eye for subtle details. The funky bass line in 'Parkett' turns out to be highly addictive when dropped on the floor, nicely flourished with hints of melody. The drum programming is extremely accurate and versatile, revealing that a lot of effort has been put into this piece of music. 'Bellaphonica' on the flipside is a deep, dubby and psychedelic excursion into the realms of techno. It reminds of Paul's early work on Frisbee and Taksi, but undoubtedly interpreted from a fresh 2008 angle. The title 'Bridge Itch' is a comic reference to the fact that most people find his last name unpronounceable. Hopefully, this will help MCs and radio jocks in the future."
