Andy Scholes of Henry & Louis recorded the original, yearning Tony Tuff vocal to 'Answer' during the mid-'90s at the legendary Channel One, Kingston Town -- one of the holiest of studio spaces in Jamaica. Tuff's pedigree since the early classic African Brothers' sides such as 'Righteous Kingdom' is beyond question, and here the loops and arcs of his vocal taps into that same spiritual feeling, as he sends out 'a message to all corners of the earth.' Rob Smith of More Rockers fame stays true to this heritage for his remix, like the long term, dyed-in-the-wool true roots man he is, underpinning the Prince Far-I echoes of Prince Green's inspirational DJ delivery with considerable bass pressure. Ras Stryka Dread's mix ascribes a fluid digital reggae low-end flow to proceedings which should fairly sing on the more digitally-inclined systems."

"Once more, Niko and Tobias have switched on their equipment to produce another deep 4-track EP titled
Forty-One Spalding
. It concludes a period of three years in which these tracks have travelled between Augsburg, Frankfurt and Hamburg to finally find their way to black gold. 'Forty-One Spalding' is the youngest track on the record and was produced in order to mark the end of Tobias' long-lived flat-sharing community which was located at the Spaldingstraße in Hamburg. It opens the 12" with a lot of drive and touching harmony changes. The hands should go up by the moment when the hi-hats enter. 'Info View' is an introverted piece of music whose subsonic bass line builds up a lot of energy and keeps the tension until the end. The title of 'Drunk On Beauty' is a reference to a wonderful song by Butterfly Child but also reveals the influence of that bottle of beer. Driven by the latter, the two of them are cruising on slight old school paths from Chicago via Detroit to Cologne. Just wallow in the sunset or sunrise in the beautiful landscape of the Frankfurt area. Absolutely gorgeous!"

was originally released on cassette by Snatch Tapes in 1980 and was credited to an unknown duo called Claire Thomas & Susan Vezey. Claire and Susan were infact a figment of Snatch Tapes founder Philip Sanderson's imagination. In addition to running the label, Philip was one half of the DIY electronic group Storm Bugs, and regularly collaborator with a then unknown musician by the name of David Jackman (one of these tracks they did together was recent issued on a 10" by Die Stadt).
Reprint
was in effect one of his few solo recordings. The music of

is a peculiar combination of academic rigour married to an inverted pop art aesthetic. For whereas pop art incorporated the cheap intoxication's of consumer culture into the supposed lofty rooms of high art, here was an attempt to incorporate the form or perhaps just the smell high art into the low brutality of DIY electronics."
