"Telegraph Avenue got their start when lead singer, Bo Ichikawa, returned home to Peru after a six-month stint in San Francisco (if you hadn't already guessed by their obvious choice of band name) and their 1971 debut album soon became the best-selling rock album of the year. Here heavy distorted guitar mixed with Latin bass and percussion meld to create a kind of south-of-the-equator Latin groove meets West Coast psych with a slightly poppier feel. All lyrics are sung in English. The band unfortunately split after the release of just one more album, but the drummer and singer would soon join up with two Argentine friends to form another great band, the South American band of the '70s, Tarkus. "Anthony Steele's vinyl debut, on Goosehound's sixth release. His first release is a monster summer record that will lead the listener on a journey through many different styles. Steele's understanding of crafting a groove is truly intuitive. He has a firm grasp of what makes great dance music, while also being able to uniquely engage the imagination and instill visions of new landscapes to discover. 'Sugar' begins the record with a sonic wind blowing around us, picking up force as the needle travels towards the center. Casio breakbeats keep a steady rhythm and gain complexity along with the other background sounds that start to echo in. From within the expansive sounds we can hear other elements creep in like the ringing of a mechanical bird or the melodic blast of a wandering saxophone. The track ventures along with low down bass while building towards it's almost pop-edged finale which proves quite exhilarating."

Quite a huge number of you already purchased our previous Pererin reissue of their second, Teithgan so you all know what to expect from this platter, but for those who didn't, let me say it's another brilliant set of traditional songs played in their very own contemporary electrified folk style. 6 & 12 string guitars, bass, mandolin, synths, mellow percussions, flute -- this might well be the folkier of all their albums, but there's still a strong progressive feel on it and some killer electric guitar leads. Another must-have for anyone into folk-prog, this is the last of the band's vinyl offerings, it was released in 1983 and was followed only by their last work that was only released on cassette. "No UK, no USA, no Uruguay, but Colombia. This Genesis comes from Colombia, and we can say it's a shame they used such a common name, as their music is absolutely unique! We're very, very proud to introduce you to this amazing band that for some reason we can't understand has never had the recognition deserved. Founded by Humberto Monroy (ex-Speakers) in the very early '70s, they released a bunch of LPs, of which this is the second one. This same titled album, their second, was recorded in March 1974 and released by Famoso (a Codiscos sub-label). It's a record that is still unmatched in its field. Flutes, acoustic, electric & 12-string guitars, percussions, bass, occasional harmonica and brilliant vocals offer an unusual and charming sound in the folk, rock & psychedelic veins, but always with a wonderful Andean folk feel. Most of the tracks are written by Humberto but the more famous number included on the album, which received a lot of radio airplay in Colombia at the time, was a chilling cover of 'Como Decirte Cuanto Te Amo' by Cat Stevens. Also, the psychedelic sounding 'Don Simon' was probably their major success. Spanish language lyrics praise the beauty of the environment and contain social messages in favor of farmers, natives & lower classes people. This is the first ever reissue of such a wonderful album, and comes with a nice booklet w/linernotes and pictures, and great remastered sound."

Paul Hillier, a champion of early and contemporary vocal repertoire, leads Theatre of Voices in his newly created 'Copenhagen Version' of a 20th-century milestone that today remains as relevant as ever. Hillier's life-long relationship with 'Stimmung' began in the 1970s when he performed it as a member of Singcircle with the composer at the controls. With its serene but highly-charged aural landscape, the work is surprisingly one of Stockhausen's most accessible compositions: spiritual yet humorous, mystical yet worldly and erotic in its poetry."
