This is the debut full-length release from Australia's DJ/producer Cam Farrar aka Kikumoto Allstars. In the spirit of the original Chicago acid house of Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard and Adonis, and with the intensity of modern dance, House Music takes you back to a more innocent era, but placed within a current context. This album is acid and analog, heavy and melodic, jacking and bass, and with its dark, penetrating male vocals versus some sexy female vocals, is here to make you move and remember the pioneering roots that brought everyone to the dancefloor in the first place. The first track "Everybody" -- driven by a heavy bass line and Fairlight Orchestra stabs -- basically encapsulates the spirit of the entire album. "I'll Make You Jack" is a song about dancing, complete with a bass line and drum machine -- reminiscent of the old acid house trax of 1986-1987. All tracks on this album were produced using the type of analog synths and drum machines that defined the original house music -- Roland TR-909, TR-808, TR-707, SH-101, JX-8P, Juno range, and the TB-303 -- paying homage to the Roland Corporation's Tadao Kikumoto, the brains behind these now-legendary machines. Ascendent, feverish, classic minimal acid house that loves the past and can't wait for the warehouse revival.
