"Elliott Murphy and his brother formed the backbone of The Murphys, a New York underground garage and psych rock band (13th Floor Elevators covers as early as 1967). When time came to record a demo for a major label deal, tensions within the band erupted and they broke up. Instead of folding, Elliott, his brother and a dear friend recorded the whole original material with two guitars and a bass guitar, only. What we get here is an incredible mix of goofball-drenched no wave cool, '60s leads, fantastic jangling West Coast style guitars, superb bass, stunning vocals, amazing storytelling and songwriting, like only Elliott can. Imagine Lou Reed's
New York
album recorded in 1972 and without drums -- great and unreleased at the time New York garage rock. Most songs would later resurface on Elliott's first LP
Aquashow
, but with a completely different sound and feel. If you wanna experience the true genius behind Elliott Murphy, this is it! Those amazing recordings includes influences by some of our favourite bands ever like Kak, Travellers Aid and The Velvet Underground! Recorded in 1972/'73. First 500 copies include FREE bonus 7" of early session recordings!"
