"Freddie McKay's Creation album, expertly produced by Ossie Hibbert showcases a well-chosen blend of original, soon-to-be classics 'longside a selection of inspired anthemic do-overs. It's a measure of the quality of this release that these inspired interpretations stand up as equal to the Burning Spear and Dennis Brown originals. The selection of subtle dub versions of the songs included serve to highlight the brilliance of the musicians playing in the classical 'rockers' style that dominated the latter half of the seventies."

2023 repress. "In The Light is rightly regarded as Horace Andy's strongest testament. Originally released in 1977 and given confirmed reggae album classic status by its 1995 Blood & Fire release, this reissue is complete with the Prince Jammy dub companion. The newly commissioned sleeve notes are written by reggae historian, Noel Hawks, and feature previously unseen photos. Horace Andy is already considered a legend in reggae circles, a status which has strengthened through his work with Massive Attack and his continued live presence. In The Light captures Andy at the very highpoint of his game."

"Keith Hudson's Pick A Dub is a classic album by many standards; released in1974, the session features performances from reggae legends Augustus Pablo, Big Youth, and Carlton and Aston Barrett. The 1994 re-issue on the Blood & Fire label introduced a new generation to its 'austere sonic qualities' and genre defining techniques. Pick A Dub showcases the enduring strength and pivotal importance of the rhythm to the development of reggae and dub music. Keith Hudson's complete mastery of the genre and the unqualified praise that followed its release was fully justified."

2023 repress. Originally released in 1998. "A typically excellent reissue by Heartbeat, Rounder Records' reggae-and-Caribbean imprint, 1998's Skatalites & Friends At Randy's is a fascinating collection of rare tracks recorded at the legendary Randy's Studio in Kingston, Jamaica in the mid '60s. Although the Skatalites only get their names on a quarter of the 20 tracks here -- all of them killer ska instrumentals -- they were the backing band on all of them, and although the Maytals or Alton Ellis might get top billing on the other 15 tracks, they're indubitably Skatalites tracks. Even more than Booker T and the MGs did for Stax/Volt or the Funk Brothers did for Motown, the Skatalites defined -- some say invented -- the musical landscape of Kingston from 1963 to 1966. Highlights include 'Machine Shop' a solo showcase by Skatalites trombonist Don Drummond, and a skanking version of Henry Mancini's 'Baby Elephant Walk' that works much better than anyone might expect."

"Return Of The Super Ape was the final revelation from Lee Perry's Black Art Studio before it closed, a psychedelicized dub journey into uncharted sonic territories. Return Of The Super Ape is the follow-up album to highly acclaimed dub album Super Ape. Just like its predecessor, the album was produced by Lee 'Scratch' Perry. It was the last album by the Upsetters before Perry closed down his Black Ark Studio. The album showcases yet again the prodigious production skills of undisputed dub master Lee 'Scratch' Perry's insanely layered textures and technical wizardry. With the Upsetters providing their musical backing. Now freshly remastered and restored for 2022 with original press artwork. Includes foldout and booklet."
