Two more essential, groovy popcorn spins paired in one handy package. "Nobody But Me" is a beautiful, blues-inflected early soul-mover from Sam Chatmon, featuring a stunning vocal turn from sultry siren Gwinny Witherspoon. On the flipside is Donna Dee's "Nobody's Gonna Hurt You," a great piece of late-night, jazzy blues embellished by Dee's down south country accent. Whether intentional or otherwise, the two songs are lyrically and melodically similar, making this double-sider another neat little offering from the Popcorn label.
