Originally issued on Island, 1969. "As pop music made its way into rock in the late sixties, several of its protagonists decided to leave behind the well-trodden paths of the past. Native Australian Ron Rothfield (flute) formed Quintessence, a six-piece outfit based in London's Notting Hill, that blended jazz, folk and meditative sounds.
