For the first two remixes of her album Meine zarten Pfoten (PAMPA 005CD/LP), and to add a certain "familiar smell," Ada pops by at Areal with none other than DJ Koze and Superpitcher, who come up with remixes that couldn't be more different or more wonderful.

This is the long-awaited second album from German producer Ada on DJ Koze's Pampa Records. Meine Zarten Pfoten ("My Tender Paws") is the eagerly-awaited album by Lady Ada that everybody's been longing to get a hold of for so long. Her second album after debut Blondie (AREAL 026LP) truly is a revelation. Ada has successfully cast off that four-to-the-floor yoke and has recorded songs that go way beyond all our well-known categories, hovering above everything in a state of serene disengagement. Ada aka Michaela Dippel has recorded all the instruments herself. The atmosphere builds up slowly, with nothing to prove -- but then try listening to it over headphones: the sheer amount of sensory impressions is overwhelming. There are subtle textures, woven together with an apparent lightness and casualness. This is also the reason why Meine Zarten Pfoten took such a long time to record. Creating lightness is the most difficult task of all. This album is, nonetheless, more than just a loving hug, it is full of wit and sophisticated wisdom that gleams through the euphony of this music again and again. This record is your friend. It's a shining light of beauty, glowing from the inside.

We all knew very well that we had reached a point of no return. There was no need to talk about it. All four of us were sitting there, facing each other, sad, yet full of confidence. "Go to hell! No one will ever touch my board again! In the future, I will solder it myself, and the way I want it to! Robotica, here we come!!!"

Ada's "Lovestoned" is everybody's favorite track from her fabulous Adaptations album (KOMP 071CD), a milestone of romantic techno with vocal support by Raz O'Hara. One of this song's biggest admirers is President Bongo of GusGus fame. Together with Jack Schidt he forms the dynamic duo Gluteus Maximus. Their "Lovestoned" remix is astounding -- sexy, modern, and efficient without losing one gram of soul. Gui Boratto's remix pushes the romance factor to the max.

Berlin-based Ada (Michaela Dippel) releases her first full-length on the Kompakt label, bringing together a collection of new and unreleased music, her highlight remixes, renditions of her tracks touched by friends, plus even a lost, alternative take of her most-loved song, "Blindhouse," recorded together with International Pony's Cosmic DJ. Areal released her triumphant 2004 debut album, Blondie, and due to her gorgeous melodies and undefinable appreciation for techno/house music, she set a new standard for the electronic musician artist album and brought a roar of appreciation from artists, fans and critics from around the world. Ada has also performed all over the place (even launching a DJ career), releasing a steady stream of singles between Areal and her new imprint, International Records Recordings. Plus, there's been loads of remixes. Adaptations -- Mixtape #1 is lovingly blended together, but is not to be confused with a DJ mix. Instead, it is a collection of highly-memorable moments in her illustrious career. Diving in, Everything But The Girl's Tracey Thorn broods over Ada's delicate beats, propelling us into a new world of modern electronic pop music. Degrees of distinction roll throughout Adaptations. From her electro-tinged Booka Shade remix, to the house-drenched cycle of "Forty Winks," to her musical duet with Raz Ohara of Apparat fame, Adaptations showcases a speculative depth rarely heard in her music and reveals a more matured aspect to her own productions. Bringing a slight twist to the typical remix collection, Ada invites some of her favorite remixes onboard: studio-mate Dee Pulse hits back house with his unreleased remix of "Fizzmann," and Tobias Thomas and Michael Mayer team up to tackle the unforgettable Yeah Yeah Yeah's cover of "Maps" that originally appeared on Blondie. It's safe to say that Ada has brilliantly succeeded in creating a personal mix tape that everyone should own.

This is the very first 12" release for Ada on the Kompakt label. With Adaptations, Ada combines great emotion with great dance music. Thanks to Raz Ohara's uber-sexy guest vocals, "Lovestoned" will make people shed tears of joy. The flipside hosts a remake of one of Ada's classic tunes, "Fizzmann." Originally released on Areal in 2007 (AREAL 045EP), this super-euphoric tune gets updated by Volker Pannes aka Dee Pulse. You can literally feel the fresh breeze in his remix.

IRR 003EP

"IRR number three presents Ada in her new (voluptuous) autumn robe. She is wallowing in pop and immersed in a sea of soul leaves. The beat of 'Forty Winks' is strolling through the woods to get a little break, and we in return, are really pleased to have an unusual track for very special moments. When you flip the record over, you will find 'Kink-a-Jou' -- after the beat has taken a little rest, it passes the bar, and makes its way back on to the dancefloor again."

Life is not easy for blonde poodles nowadays. From morning to evening, people whisper about you behind your back. But Fizzmann doesn't care -- he knows that it's just envy. And Fizzmann himself is proud of his resplendent, blonde mane, in particular when strolling around the promenades. Sometimes on sunny days he hums a little melody and imagines a rattling orchestra marching behind and accompanying him.

Hitch-hiking Ferdinand wanted to be picked up by a truck and brought to the next pond. How on earth could a little, innocent grey-freckled newt expect something like that? Maybe his new, silver diving suit had misled the captain of the rocket who surely was only trying to be polite. But now, it was too late! Once accepted, there was hardly anything he could do to turn the offer down being picked up by a rocket. The higher they flew up in the sky, the more Ferdi's adrenalin level was rising. Cudgelling his brains where this unplanned trip would end, one thing was for sure: his groovy, new diving suit was of no earthly use.

The 6th 12" on Areal by Ada, her first new tracks since the sensational 2004 album Blondie. Includes a Wet Cement remix. "Ada is the ingénue of the Areal label, the populist amongst the blastic sonics of the rest of the roster. Where acts like Basteroid favor fuzzy, granulated textures, beats that puncture the eardrum like feet through floorboards, and thick, reamy midrange, Ada's music is sensualized and playful, riding on air, topping the treble with micro-managed motifs." -- Jon Dale.

2012 repress of this 2005 album. Ada (aka Michaela Dippel) is one of the stars of the new German pop dance sound. Having released some of the hottest vocal pop singles of 2004, Ada set her sites on creating a full album of deft romantic dance music. With Blondie, she's gone right ahead and done it. Dippel has long held melody and timbre in high regard, from an early age she played music which led to singing in a rock band. Now she makes beautiful electronic dance pop which has been endorsed on mixes and remixes from Michael Mayer, Sven Vath, DJ Koze, Sascha Funke, Erlend Oye and many more DJs and discerning boutiques worldwide. The Blondie sound has been compared to everything from Basic Channel to Angelo Badalamenti and her voice has people referencing Chrissie Hynde and Erykah Badu. Dippel has one of the most unique sounds in the world, and one of the most modern. Stylistic, crafted pop that can be played anywhere and for anyone. Blondie will stand up as one of the most original albums of the naughties, and here it is right here, right now. Includes the now-well-played cover of "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Remixes by DJ Koze & Sascha Funke! "You did not expect that, right? Ada remixes ??? Yes, yes I know - crazy isn't it? But now it's already too late, it happened, and with this title......... It might possibly happen again. DJ Koze and Sascha Funke tried to give the poor pink monster a warning -- futile, as you can see if you look at the scene of crime which adorns this records cover. So they decided to create an obituary in music for the poor thing and this is how we shall remember it."

"Year by year the moment comes when everything that has wings is about to leave our (c)old Europe. Small swarms set out and during they leave fields and meadows behind they become bigger and bigger. Totally exited they whirl along the horizon. As it gets warmer on their trip, anticipation starts to overcome and let them reach their destination, warm and droning. Adaption is nearly meaningless to her. Maybe because she is no direct descendant of Adam, but raised up by pink ponies. Most of her songs are not really adagio, but she seems to be the long awaited adapter between electropop and snotrock."
