Anthroprophh was formed in 2010 as a solo project for Paul Allen, The Heads' lead guitarist of 20 years.

Following a handful of solo shows, Rocket Recordings released Anthroprophh's eponymous LP in 2013. "The six tracks unearthed follow the Krautrock tradition of, at times being anarchic, at others mystical, magical, or utopian. Heavy on planetary rhythms and laced, percussive, half-man, half-machine grooves, Anthroprophh is concerned with all aspects of musical behavior; past, present, and with an eye to the future like the sonic output you would find on labels such as Blackest Rainbow and Not Not Fun."

Anthroprophh has since evolved into a trio with the addition of Gareth Turner and Jesse Webb, from the Big Naturals, supplying bass and drums. Outside the Circle captures the now intensified nature of the group, the added focus on percussive drive with dual drumming from both Jess and Gareth, and further develops the Krautrock influences of its predecessor; albeit with a stranger approach.
