L'Arbre du Ténéré, known in English as the Ténéré Tree, was a solitary acacia that was once considered the most isolated tree on Earth, standing alone for over 250 miles. It was a landmark on caravan routes through the Ténéré region of the Sahara in Northeast Niger, until it was knocked down by a drunken truck driver in 1973. La pelle del fantasma is the debut full-length by the duo of Maurizio Abate and Giovanni Donadini (Ottaven, Fantamatres). They build a dialogue between open improvisation and harmonic structures, moving from ambient soundies to textures of soft psychedelia in an effort to create a musical portrait of this special tree and its history, from the lonely past to its present form as a commemorative metallic sculpture. Edition of 150.
